I just bought one. During my search, I ran into them from 29,000.00 to 32,000.00 2005 new. MSRP was about $47K. There was one that I could get for $27K, used w/ less that 1,400 miles. It was a Chrysler Co, car. There are a few of these out there that Chrysler auctioned to their dealers. I think this is the best way to go. They are certified and come with 80K mile warranty. They look perfect. I live in Illinois.

So how much did you give for the one you bought?

Is the car leaking oil or transmission fluid? If it is tranny fluid there is a recall for your issue, it involves an "o" ring.

I recently installed a Borla Exhaust on my 2006 300C Hemi and would like to the same on my Crossfire but Borla only makes a system for the 2004. Can anyone help me? Thanks

We are in the midst of the first cold weather since I purchased my Xfire. I've noticed on cold (20 degrees) mornings, the tire pressure warning light comes on when the car is started. The light stays on until the tires warm up (10-15 minutes at highway speed). Has anyone else noticed this? Is it anything to worry about?

    Thanks
  • jbjtkbw00jbjtkbw00 Member Posts: 66
So let's all be honest....how satisfied are we with our Crossfire's? I LOVE mine! Quick enough, handles very well, not bad mileage for a sporty little car. A bit cramped, but if I wanted room, I would have gotten a bigger vehicle. And no matter where I go, it's a conversation starter.

All in all, I love my car. No issues with it, at 38k miles, still on the original tires, oil changes were included, so no worries there. Maintenance not as expensive as you'd believe for keeping it in tip top shape. I mean, I don't know why I would have chosed a 350Z or another competitor over this. If I had a wish, it would have been to get it in SRT form, but that's about it.

Anyone else care to chime in on their overall experience and feelings about theirs?
  • guestguest Member Posts: 770
    Ok,I'll chime in.....LOVE THE CAR!!
Bought a 05 SRT6 with 174 miles on it.Went looking for a new Mustang and no super deals.Spotted a SRT6 at the local dealer. They were asking 51K but would sell for 38K.I called a friend and he called a friend.Got a call back the next day and he said he found one for 30K,did I want it?How could I pass it up?...I'm 55 and have had a lot of cars, but this is the Best!...Even the luggage they sent was a Cool surprise....I had a ATF leak, but was fixed in about 2 hours.

Fast, corners Great, looks awesome and no matter where you stop, somebody compliments what a sweet car!The Graphite color with the spoke wheels really looks sharp!

Does anybody know of a Crossfire Club? I live in Northern California..

330hp with looks to match.Tough to beat..LOVE THE CAR!
  • jbjtkbw00jbjtkbw00 Member Posts: 66
I'm jealous!!!! I would have loved to have had an SRT. Lucky guy you are.

That feeling you get when you hear those compliments and everyone asks about the car are truly priceless though, aren't they?

I have searched high and low for performance parts for my 2005 crossfire does anyone know where tofind themor if they are even made thanks
  • xfireroadsterxfireroadster Member Posts: 81
There are no..no... performance upgrades for our cars unless you have big $$$$$$$. Our cars are not tuners.....there are no parts bins, if speed is what you need then it would be cheaper to trade your Base or Limited model in for an SRT6. To get any worthwhile performance upgrade to our cars you are looking at a min. of about $10,000.00 from Brabus, RENNTech or Vath.

I'll chime in also...I LOVE mine as well. I have a limited roadster and it's so much fun to drive. The handling, speed, stereo, etc. is terrific. And the head turning quotient is incredible. Everywhere I go people are looking, asking me about the car, and drooling because they want one! There are only 3 in town and we all live on opposite ends. My lease expires in July and I'm definately going to hold on to this one for a few more years. Especially since they aren't making them anymore. The only drawback to the car is the cup holder. Definately missed the design on that one. So....two thumbs up from Tucson!

I've heard from my local dealer that Chrysler has decided not to make the Crossfire anymore including the roadsters. Does anyone know the story behind this?
  • jbjtkbw00jbjtkbw00 Member Posts: 66
Pretty much, no. From what I've heard and experienced, the Crossfire was caught between price and competition. Sales weren't what they expected, and with those two items working against, you can see why. It was priced pretty high, and when you talk about being in the same league as the Infiniti G35/Nissan 350Z as well as the Honda S2000, BMW Z4 (before too many options), the Porche Boxter and up and comers Pontiac Solstice/SAturn Sky, it was tough to justify the price when you could either go cheaper and get close or for the price, get more in the other vehicles.

On the flip, it's got a lot going for it. Consumer Reports ranks it as a Consumer Reports Best Buy, which says a lot. Gas mileage is great (6 speed is 17 cty/26 hwy) and I believe the automatic gets even better by 1-2 mpg. Also, the fact that there aren't a lot of them out there, you get exclusivity. And the looks...what can I say? I just got approached at a Twistee Treat ice cream stand outside Tampa here in Florida (yeah, it was like 80 today) and these 2 older ladies that are driving a Dodge Caliber grabbed me by the arm to ask who makes it? They loved it! I'll tell ya...that never gets old to me.

Mechanically, I've had no issues requiring service visits and I'm now at 40k. Still on the factory run flat tires. Regular service intervals and oil changes are kept up. Washed a minimum of once a week (3-4 times when I'm not traveling for work), so I keep the thing in top shape. I love this damn thing. Once again, I just wish I would have gotten the SRT6, but still, when you hit 62 mph and that spoiler goes up, that's just one more thing to blow people's minds on the road. You can't beat that feeling. :)
  • xfireroadsterxfireroadster Member Posts: 81
Are you sure that your run flats were not after market. Run flat tires were never a dealer option on our cars. Also the run flat tires that are available for our cars are very expensive
  • jbjtkbw00jbjtkbw00 Member Posts: 66
Yep. Mine were from factory run flat. Most of the Crossfires sold at the dealer I purchased from weren't dealer options...they were standard. If I can find my sticker, I'll scan and show it to you. I also believe the brochure on this car states that they are available as well. I'm on a business trip right now, but I'll see what I can find for you.

They're the Continentals and yes, they are pricey. I'm looking at around $1600 to replace all 4 later this year.
  • xfireroadsterxfireroadster Member Posts: 81
I am very interested in this, my brochure says nothing about runflats. The price you stated for replacing seems to be about the aftermarket cost of the optional Conti ASP tires(which I currently have). When you have a chance and are able to locate your sticker, please post the tire description from the sticker. the prices I have been quoted for runflats in our staggered sizes was about $2800.00 - $3100.00 for all 4.
  • jbjtkbw00jbjtkbw00 Member Posts: 66
Wow! Where did you receive those quotes? I've been looking everywhere for tires outside of the dealer and can't find too many, but I've been searching online.

I also plan to go to the dealer and investigate this a bit more. Any information that I find, I will be more than happy to share of course. I'm just sorry that I don't get home until Friday.
  • zq8zq8 Member Posts: 82
Crossfires did NOT come from the factory with any brand of run-flats. His Conti's are just like all the other Crossfires, or the dealer had run-flats put on.
  • jbjtkbw00jbjtkbw00 Member Posts: 66
I'm not saying all or am in no position to say what everyone else received. I can only verify for a fact that the tires on MY vehicle when I received them from the dealer here in Orlando are run flats. If the dealer put them on, I have no idea. I just know what I'm driving on. Not trying to vouch for everyone.
  • zq8zq8 Member Posts: 82
But you did refer to them as "factory run-flats", maybe "dealer installed" would be a better term.
  • jbjtkbw00jbjtkbw00 Member Posts: 66
No, and you're right. I just don't know for sure. You guys are pretty sure they don't come from the factory that way, so yes, they may be dealer installed. I'm going to make it a point to find out for sure. I'm going by the dealer this week and get more info as that's the only way I'll truly know. Made a phone call over the weekend to one of the service advisors who had no clue.

    I have a 2007 srt6. Black coupe.

    Likes

    Awesome styling.
A real head turner. People just smile , gawk , drive fast just to see what the hell just drove past.
This car , is is not for shy people.
Massive power and acceleration. Great brakes

    Dislikes

Heart stopping blindspots--> have to be very careful when switching lanes.
Hard tuned suspension rough unforgiving ride quality.

Apart from that I would give this car a 9/10.
For your money this car gives amazing performance , unique styling and looks. They are not that common to see ( less so if they cease production)

I also have a black 2004 coupe, love mine, but are you sure that is a 2007,they never made a 2007,or am I wrong?
  • xfireroadsterxfireroadster Member Posts: 81
It has to be a 2006 or 2005, there are a few 2006 SRT6's, Base's and Limited's hitting the market now. Check the VIN the number before the "X" is the year designation. The end of production for the SRT6 is the 2006 model year. You can now order a 2007 Base or Limited Coupe / Roadster, there is no 2007 SRT6 in the lineup here in the States or European/Canadian market.

I'm looking at purchasing a 2005 Crossfire Roadster. Instead of "Crossfire" on the trunk, it has "AMG" on the passenger side of the trunk. I've been looking at many Crossfires, but this is the only one I've seen with this. Does anyone know why? By the way, great reviews!

How do I tell if the car has a navigation ?
Is there any decoding of VIN ?
In the market for a used coupe, limited. Please give your suggestions / advice
  • dhernand10dhernand10 Member Posts: 3
All 2005 Limited model Crossfire's have navigation, you can tell on the radio inside the car because it specifically has a button that says Nav for Navigation. 2004 Crossfire's do not have navigation, it was not offered, 2005-2006 models that are Base models do not have it either.
  • xfireroadsterxfireroadster Member Posts: 81
All 2005 Crossfires Limiteds DONOT have the "Nav Radio", as standard equipment it is a $1200.00 option. Also there is no VIN code designation for the Nav radio either.
  • blackfireblackfire Member Posts: 1
I don't think that ALL 05 limiteds have it, because I have an 05 limited, and I don't have it. It is an option I think.

    A new 2006 Roadster?

I noticed that one of the local dealers had one for sale...

    $42,150 MSRP
    $29,995 selling price

Are you getting a similar deal? Seems like a cheap way to get into a new convertible.

DChrysler was supposed to stop the "Touring Gear" as a free option on the 06's. But a few got through, if your window sticker says "Touring Gear" then you will get it......if it doesn't then you will not receive the luggage. It will arrive about 4 to 8 weeks after purchase.
  • decessusdecessus Member Posts: 6
If the dealer option falls through, the luggage appears on eBay with some regularity. Granted the dealer option doesn't carry a separate cost, but that's a decision you get to make.
The luggage is good quality but nothing really special. I have a roadster and I hoped it would be "fitted" to the available space in the boot. It wasn't. So aside from the wheel design and the various logos, again, it was nothing special.

Local dealership has special purchase from factory offer 2006 Crossfire Limited MSRP $35,305 SALE PRICE $21,995. Window sticker states 2006 model year. I cannot get any information on 2006 and I am thinking that these may be left over from 2005. Does anyone have any information on this? Kelly Bluebook only lists 2005 and 2007, no 2006 models!!!
  • xfireroadsterxfireroadster Member Posts: 81
The cars were built in late 2005 and vin'd as 2006's. There are no differences between the 2005 and 2006 model year, just a new paint choice "oyster". 2006 will be the last model year for the U.S. market, 2007's will only be produced for the Canadian and European markets, and that will mark the end of the Crossfire. Also 2006 will be the last year for the SRT6 and there are only a few actual 2006's.

Just bought a 2004 Crossfire used from a dealership as a birthday present for my wife. Our main concern right now is that we only got one key! Anyone know someplace to get another (other than the dealership) for a reasonable price? The dealer is sounding like it will be almost $400 when all is said and done. Got a great deal, and absolutely love the car, by the way! Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
  • crossfire66crossfire66 Member Posts: 9
A new key for a crossfire should not cost more then $ 175.00,thats how much I paid for my used 2004 coupe here in michigan, and the used car dealer reimbursed me for that amount also,if you bought it from a dealer you should of gotten the second key for free.

I just bought an '04 Crossfire. Took delivery yesterday and have been enjoying showing it to friends. Been reading through the posts a little and I am glad that I am not the only one who thinks that this car has the worst cupholder in motor vehicle history. However, all the other excellent things about the car make up for that. Anyone think of any nifty ways around having a Crossfire AND a drink at the same time that they might want to share?

My Crossfire is white. I'm not sure what options I have that aren't standard, but it is a 6 speed. They had an automatic also, but mine had the black interior instead of the gray, and I thought that was much prettier.

So far... I think this might be the coolest car ever. lol
  • summeronlysummeronly Member Posts: 6
It is the coolest car ever (even w/cruddy cup holder). Mine is a 2005, with 5800 miles, and I LOVE it. Don't get much of a chance to open it up (except in the upper peninsula of Michigan) but I feel like I am 17 years old when I am driving it; however, to be honest, I feel like I am 55 when I get in/out of it - oh well, such is life. Mine is blue (with a black interior) and I love it especially as we are approaching summer. You Michigan (Detroit) people know how we appreciate warm (60+) weather and our cars. The Crossfire is so much fun - I had a 1950's MG that I had a lot of fun with but the mechanical problems were cost prohibitive.
  • xfiringinncxfiringinnc Member Posts: 2
After a nice weekend with my Crossfire, I have only this to say: WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

It may not be the fastest thing on the road, but it sure is a lot of fun.

Just picked up a 2006 Roadster Special Edition at Ancira in San Antonio. $36956 sticker price, picked it up for $26500, and they're letting me drive it for 2 weeks for no cost to make sure I like it.

It's pretty dirty from sitting on the lot, but when I bring it back in 2 weeks to finalize the paperwork, they're going to detail it.

Awesome deal if you ask me!
