thanks.. people really hear it coming when i step
on it :) but since the wave is not high quality,
in real life it sounds a bit more sharper..
that more sporty sound caused some guy in a
mustang to look at me confused.. hehe..

Tooooooo cold for me!!! It is in the 80's here!
Would love to visit your neck of the woods sometime though....have been off the coast on submarine patrol....actually been to (under) north pole....that was exciting!!
My wallet actually fits pretty well in that hole.
    Thanks for the info.....

I justwant to say thanks to those who have replied to my questions,One more thing to add here when i ordered the truck i was given a priority of #99 when i asked the dealer about 99 he stated because it was sept, and some what close to the end of the year the 99 means that the truck will be delivered in 1999.With the 8-13 week wait of course.sound like a lot of b.s I can't wait to speak to someone in charge on monday!! Glad to hear you picked up your rig. Ford did up the out put on the V-10 for 2000. It's great to know you can feel the difference. Boy, I can't wait to get mine. Let me know what kind of mileage you get. I know you'll have a fun weekend. I guess that ole' flu isn't stoppin you.

Hope lewac is OK....know where he lives got hit pretty hard by Irene!! That *itch!
will keep udated on milage....so far on fist tank from the dealer the MPG avarage on the computer says 11.4 mpg. When I picked it up it read 7.6 for about an hour.....I was scared until I red the owner book!!!
Passed a Dodge today.....went from 50 to 75 like it was NOTHING!!!!!

Sounds like you need a shovel, because I think your dealer is piling it on kind of deep. My experience has been that a priority code of 99 is used to place a "dummy" order to spec out a truck and make sure the system takes the order (no conflicts with different option packages, etc.). If this is truly the priority code on your order, I bet it will never get built as is. Here's more conjecture, but it sounds like your dealer has no current allocation for a truck such as you ordered, and has tried to hide that fact from you by giving you a DORA for a bogus order. If I were you, I would demand to see a new DORA with an order priority of less than 20. If the dealer is not cooperative, fire him and go somewhere else.

Crazyelvis: Congratulations on receiving your truck! I've been following your posts and felt like I had a comrade in arms with all the problems you had. I had fantasies of receiving mine before you - even though it is still "clean and unscheduled". Now my bubble is popped.

Mine was ordered end of July. Got my DORA in hand and have been bugging my fleet manager on a weekly basis. Last Thursday, she was planning on talking with the regional manager to get my priority number lowered, and was supposed to get back to me Friday. But, wouldn't you know, no message on my recorder. Come Monday, we're going to have a heart-to-heart talk.

To all, I'm sorry for whiinnnning, but at this point I don't want to change dealerships and drop to the back of the line again. Besides, I feel like I got a fairly good deal ($300 over invoice).

So, until I join the ranks of the HAVE-GOTS, instead of the HAVE-NOTS, I'll just drool on my keyboard and continue reading all the new posts from everyone else getting THEIR trucks!

I was wondering if anyone has found a dealership near Atlanta, GA that will sell an F-350 at or near invoice pricing with no haggling. I've tried the typical routes thru the internet (ie: autobytel, carpoint) and these dealers keep coming back with prices that are 2000-2500 over invoice. Thanks for your help!

...Checked DORA today...and my "BIG-BLUE" has been released from the plant!!!! Message states that ETA is around the 26th, can't wait!! Heck, my BORLA exhaust system arrived about one-week ahead of schedule, maybe the truck will too.
Crazyelvis, congrats on adding a new addition to your family!! I also agree with you on the power differrence between the 99 & 00. I was lucky enough to drive both and WOW, what a difference. Glad the HUSKY LINERS look good, I also ordered black ones for the front and back. Should be here by next wednesday.
Rflint, I also agree with Dave84, in that the priority code is just that...a priority. The 99 is a "spec" code they use to get the price. Picture as you will a number line from 1 to 99, with one being the best priority code. I was lucky enough to have my dealer get a PRIORITY ONE code after my order was picked up. The only possibility could be that when the dealer originally places the order, it think it goes in at a 99, then comes back the next day for confirmation of order. If the order is confirmend, then a higher priority is assigned. If not, I think the order is purged. Maybe check with them again, if they still stick with thier story then it sounds like its time to find a new dealer.
    ...more updates to follow....

Crazyelvis. first; congradulations on FINALLY getting your truck! you ordered on 8/18, right? so a 9 week delivery (even with the last couple of weeks being a REAL hassle) is a pretty damn good delivery considering the demand for this vehicle & the prices we're paying. yeah, we were disappointed when we saw the size of that overhead console (our demo was in a Lariat "LE" & noticed the lack of size of that thing right off). oh, well; suppose we can't have everything.

we did get "slammed" pretty good from "the lady". in fact, we got the maximum amount of stuff she could possibly dish out! the eye wall past just west of us & so we got the full brunt for the maximum amount of time. fortunately, the thing was only a cat 1 & therefore did only minor damage (knocked down a small tree that I wanted to remove anyhow... saved me most of the trouble). we're fortunate to have power though, as almost everyone on the street is out. lost cable & our computer phone line so am hooked up to our primary line to get this post out.

one thing I don't understand about the National Weather Service is all this big deal about rain. if they look out the window they may possibly notice that FL is F-L-A-T! so why issue "flash flood" warnings (obviously not going to happen on flat terrain!). what they REALLY need to do is warn the morons not to go walking around in standing water because it is kind-of "nasty" (snakes, scorpions, bacteria, electrocutions (5 people in Broward said goodbye this way) & such).

Rflint... look to Dave84 for your DORA advice. He's the author of that #588 post. why don't you print that post & his recent #1020 as well? bring those to the dealer (don't mess with your salesperson, get right to the "horses mouth" (first the sales manager, then the owner). let them know that "game playing" is not your idea of a good time. my suspicion is that they have no allocation (just as Dave84 mentioned) for your specific model). We've seen many posts from people in regard to dealers they're happy with. Be willing to travel to get a decent price & a decent delivery (we'd have no qualms about traveling clear across the country if need be). we also feel as Dave84 does, you'll never get a configured truck from this dealer. demand your deposit back & go elsewhere... you will most certainly be much better off. keep us all posted.

LukeDuke (maybe RFlint too), you may want to look at Gator Ford. we were steered there by Crazyelvis & even though he had some difficulties at the end he still waited only 9 weeks from order to delivery on a high demand truck. we paid $500 over invoice for our order via this same dealer (see my previous posts beginning around #750). we've got a "promised" delivery by Christmas (ordered 9/30/99) so that should not be a problem at all (11 weeks from order to delivery on a PSD with manual tranny). we're "clean & unscheduled" & from what we gather it's because the chassis (F350 CC white) isn't in inventory. The DORA came thru with no VIN & from our understanding you don't get a VIN until you get a chassis. if anyone knows differently here, please post as that last statement is not cast in concrete.

Gossamar, congrates on the birth of your truck! won't be long & you'll join the ranks of after delivery reporting. jeez! has anyone ordered/delivered a y2k psd with manual tranny?

Thank you everyone for all the information posted here (and at www.ford-diesel.com). Just ordered today, F-350 XLT 4WD SC PSD 6SPD LB T/T Pwr T/Mirrors. Dealer said 4-6 weeks to get the truck in. They said they'll call with the build date, delivery date and VIN in about a week and a half. I'll keep you all posted. Note they did say it would take longer for a V-10 and 10-12 weeks for a Lariat with a V-10. The internet sales manager (Randy Norton) said only about 17% of the Super Duties manufactured are Lariats. For those in Colorado, the dealer is Medved/Brutyn Ford in Castle Rock. They're the local (70 miles from my house) internet dealer for autobytel.com. We're getting the truck for dealer invoice + 249 dealer handling + the usual advertising delivery and gas fees. Its snowing here (Divide, CO - 9500') for the second time this year but my wife's explorer should hold us over until the 350 gets here. She pressed F4 to send the order to the factory.

    I ordered a Y2K F250 4x4 crew cab long box.
White & gold, Lariat trim with V-10, SOF, auto trans and 3.73 limited slip rear end. Camper/Trailer tow pkg., power tow mirrors and sliding rear window. Off road pkg., eng. block heater and class IV receiver. AM/FM-cass./cd sound system, privy glass and LT265/75Rx16E tires. When (and if) it arrives, I'm going to have a Line-X bed liner sprayed on, HD mud flaps installed and a bug shield, Billet grill, and a canopy put on. A little pin striping to make it MINE, and I opted for custom rubber mats to cover the carpet. This is my first Ford product and it'll have to last me a long time so I'm getting it the way I want it. Can hardly wait& wait& wait& wait!!!!!

lewac...glad to hear you came out alright. We are sure dodging bullets over here on the west coast. Probably going to get hit with a good cat. 5 one of these days/years to make up for it.....but hoping not!!
I can't say anything bad about Gator Ford....Yes it was frustrating to know that my truck was in town for two weeks....so an actual 7 week from order to "in town"....that is pretty good for a V10 Lariat......But it was not Gators fault. I really believe that they want to attract business off the internet if it comes their way. As I said in a past post....my neighbor couldn't get a 2% above invoice deal there a couple of yrs. ago. They wouldn't even touch it he said. I talked to Ken about the internet and he agreed that once you get a bad name/rep out it will grow by quantum leaps via these chat/discussion groups.
Gossamar.....What color interior are you getting....I have the medium parchment as I have the Harvest Gold paint. I thought the tan mats looked rather cheap in the picture....so I went with black....thought it would be a nice contrast.
Again....they may look cheap when you get them out of the box.....I almost sent them back....but I really like them in the truck.
Oh well.....sorry about not talking about truck stuff but I will post things relating often.

I ordered a 2000 F250SD w/V10, etc. on 9/15, the dora was processed on 9/20. What number do I call to check my status? Thanks!
  • gossamargossamar Member Posts: 106
...If you are all ready here is a list of options that I ordered with my truck. First, I ordered XLT Super-cab...the ISLAND BLUE color, solid...no two-tone. The interior is the medium gray graphite with captains chairs, cd/cassette, ABS, the big 265 OWL A-T tires, keyless, cab-steps, rear-slider, trailer tow, snow plow, power trailer mirrors, class IV hitch, block heater(in case it has to sit outside of its 56-degree garage), off-road package, power driver seat, privacy glass, 3:73 LS, auto, V-10. I think that about covers it.
I also agree about the pictures of the Husky liners, they do kind of look cheesy!! Glad to get the feedback, I was a bit worried!! I figured the gray would be too much of a clash with the medium interior. I did think about the Lariat package, but decided not too, I am not too crazy about leather. Ill. winters get cold, would tend to freeze the 'ole behind after sitting out at work all day!!
Like you I also will have windows tinted, although in Ill. it is against the law to tint your front windows. Zeibart will do it, you just have to sign a waiver. From what I have seen, as long as the cop can see in the front ones, you should be okay. They don't enforce the law like they used to.
Lewac, glad to hear you survived the lady's conniption fit down yonder. Looks like you might be one of the first to report on the PSD/Manual combination when yours arrives. I hear the Manual with the V-10 is a real screamer!! We all hope you don't have to wait like crazyelvis did!
Paull1, check post #588 in this group for more information on DORA and how to utilize the VOPC system. Also, plan on doing some reading, there is a lot of good stuff between here and #588!!
Crazyelvis, one other question, did you get the power trailer tow mirrors?? If so, are they telescoping?? My dealer got in two new 2000 this week, and the two with the power tow mirrors DID telescope...manually that is....but still cool!! Also, where did you order your dash-mat from??
Chrispal, welcome, hope that you have enjoyed the readings. Sounds like you got a good deal, I paid $500.00 over invoice for mine. Doesn't seem right, snow in october!! Oh-well, might be driving out your way in March...kind of a late honeymoon thing. Be a good trip for Big-Blue, guess I better start saving gas money!!

Hey all, went to the Auto Show in Motion hosted by GM. This is a different kind of show. You actually get to drive the vehicles. I was able to drive all the competitions trucks through a course of pavement and some obstacles; ie bumps to test the suspension. They had all the makes and models of trucks there including the F150, but guess which Ford they didn't have. Exactly. GM is not as dumb as we think hehe. The Super Duty out classes all the others. After the day was over it made it even more evident to me that I have the right truck on order. I've been waiting since 8-16-99, but I know it's worth the wait after driving the others. Hang in there all. Jimsrs

Hey everyone,I orderd my F350 with every option i could get except the Lariat pkg. on 10-12,dealer said he would rush the order(Ya right) so the truck would get here by 12-1-99 maybe even as early as 11-15. Ill believe it when I see it.
Im going with the disel rather than the V-10 so
maybe that will help. Well see I hope so . Will keep eveyone posted.

VOPC message changed from clean & unsched to "You're order has been serialized and is awaiting schedule and ETA" What is serialized? If it's a VIN how do I get the number? Please help me decode my newest message!
