Same here in central VA: $3.69 for 87. Over the weekend farther north in VA, I saw $3.65. South central PA was $3.75 and Pittsburgh was $3.89.

BTW, diesel at the local Sheetz is $4.69, exactly one dollar above 87. I can see those new diesel cars promised for 2009 are going to be smash hits!

    Gas continues to drop:

    Regular unleaded - $3.65 - $3.69

Over the weekend I saw a couple of stations on Route 11/15 in Camp Hill at $3.59. Would be nice to get under $3.50.

Still believe the winter is going to bring another round of pain when people have to fill their home oil tanks.

Upper $3.50's to lower $3.60's. My recent move from Chicago is paying off!!
BTW, the first few posts are painful to read. Gas started with a $1.xx back then. Ouch!!

Paid $3.67 for 87 yesterday at Valero (station soon to switch to BP).

Our cheapest gas is holding at $3.85 diesel is down to $4.31 at some stations.
  • larsblarsb Member Posts: 8,204
Lowest in Warm Pa-Hoe-Nix is $3.609

Can we just drop the flippin .009 already? !!!!!!!!! Hasn't that train left the station about 20 years ago? Is there anyone who still even pays attention to the .009 at the end? Is that not just a waste of time and resources to track it like that?

You don't have to shout; I can hear you. ;)

Yeah, the 9/10 of a cent goes back as far as I can remember and I can remember back into the mid-50s. Even when I was in elementary school I thought it was dumb.

Hey, guys. Go ahead and kick it up to the next cent. I know it might cost me .015 more but I can take it...

There is just something about gas costing $3.999 that does not seem as bad as $4 :shades:

Not shouting - I use bold and large for EMPHASIS. It's called grammar. :)

RUG---$3.80 (that's rounded off from $3.7999 so larsb won't be upset)

    Premium--$4.10

Regular is down 35 cents from it's high a few weeks ago.

Funny though, many nearby stations are still over $4 for RUG. They must be trying to make an extra boat payment.

Oddly enough, the town where I work (Princeton), in which everything is typically priced higher because it is a more affluent town, has cheaper fuel than my hometown. I just filled up with Sunoco Ultra 93 at $3.95/gal. I think their regular was in the $3.6x range. Regular ole 91 octane premium was $3.91.

My usual Sunoco truck stop, Palisades Park NJ

    87 - $3.699
    89 - $3.799
91 - (couldn't see the pumps, it's not on the main sign - likely $3.879)
    93 - $3.899
    diesel - $4.359

Some of the truck stops in south Jersey along I-295 are approaching $4.20 for diesel.

Diesel dropped 20 cents at the local Sheetz to $4.39.

Hess still has the lowest 87 at $3.59, with 89 and 93 10 cents and 20 cents more, respectively.

$3.84 at BJ's (haha) membership warehouse in Wallingford, CT as of last Friday (8/1/08). Price is for members only.

This is where I get my gas exclusively. I don't pass by on a regular basis so I don't have an updated price.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    $4.05 RUG
    $4.17 mid-grad
    $4.27 premium
$4.75 diesel (diesel is down more than gasoline)

We currently have the fifth highest gas prices in the US after AK and HI and a couple other states the news didn't mention.
  • fezofezo Member Posts: 10,386
    Filled yesterday for $3.57 RUG.

    Regular unleaded - $3.43 - $3.53
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
was for $3.92 for 87 octane at the local Jewel. Citgo, Meijers were a couple cents higher. Funny thing is Shell, BP, and Mobil and the one Citgo by work are playing the up-down-up-up game again. Most of these stations had 87 octane for $3.95, then yesterday afternoon jumped the price back to $4.06. They did the same thing 2 weeks ago - price was $4.10, went down to $4.02, back up to $4.05 then next day up to $4.10. It appears the articles I read were true, stating that since oil shot up so fast the stations couldn't adjust fast enough to the prices being paid, margins became hella thin, so now they are going to keep pump prices high to recoup losses from the past 3 - 5 months.

Ethanol (10%) regular is now 3.359 and 3.379 depeding on where you are---this is from the Oklahoma City area----I think this is probably the lowest in the states. Makes me happy and my car is designed for "flex fuel" so I am pleased.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
I was able to fill the van up with RUG for $3.95 a gallon today at the Albertons. That means most stations will be charging $3.98 for unleaded.

    Such a deal. :shades:

Gas prices at lowest stations are $3.479. The nominal price runs from $3.599 to $3.799. The prices were $3.59-3.69 but Speedway raised the prices on Thursday because oil went down last week.

RUG has edged down to 3.73 at one low priced station. A few miles away RUG is still around $3.89. Can't figure it out.

Oil is dropping pretty fast. Expect to see a rush of media "scare" stories about some pending global crisis.

Just a guess but I think the big boys want the prices back up and all the exploding pipelines and invasions have not done it, Next thing on the list is scare tactics.

I was out riding around today, and up there I saw 87 octane for as low as $3.599 per gallon. It's always a bit cheaper up there, though. Closer to home, I think it's more like $3.699. Feels cheap compared to the $4+ we had been paying, but I guess that's what they want you to think!
  • nortsr1nortsr1 Member Posts: 1,060
The amazing thing is $3.34/gallon regular unleaded and yet On road diesel is 90 cents more/.gallon.

Just 25 cents separating cheapest RUG from Diesel in San Diego. Several stations selling diesel under $4 per gallon. Gas holding around $3.75. Premium only nickel less than diesel.

Well, to start ... RUG in Jackson NJ = $3.53
RUG in Princeton NJ = $3.51

My problem is, however, that PUG is 10 cents apart in the 2 locations. Jackson is a Hess, and I get 5% off using my Hess card.

So the question I'm posing to myself: Is it better to get gas for $3.67 right now or better to get it for $3.77 right now and get 18 cents back next year?

Hess by my house is $3.87 for premium, but then we're charged $3.67 on our Hess card. Sunoco in Princeton is $3.77 but I'd have to use Amex and we wouldn't get the 5% reward until next year.

I'm thinking the immediate relief is better.

Yes, a sure thing now is better than a promise for the future. Take the money and run!

Here in central VA, Sheetz dropped 87 by 10 cents to $3.49 the other day. Diesel is 90 cents more.

Everyone else around here is dropping as well, but the only one lower I know of is Valero at $3.47.

Hi Grade--$3.95. That's the first time the premium has been below $4 in a long time. :)

Two years ago we would have shot someone charging that much, now we're happy.
