    Backed off 4 cents to $3.95 for RUG here, but they're playing games with the intervals between grades. Typically, it was 10 cents up to the mid-grade and another 20 up to premium, but when RUG was $3.99, the mid grade was at $4.19 and premium at $4.49. Now the sign has $3.95, $4.10, & $4.25.

    Sort of feels like they're trying to milk a little extra out before prices go lower
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    Likewise here in Philly.

    RUG dropped by two cents earlier this week, finally followed by a two cent drop in the other grades. Sunoco at Rising Sun and Longshore:

    RUG = $3.97
    Plus = $4.07
    Ultra = $4.17

    Still too high IMHO!
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Not here - still holding at $4.29.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    $4.24 for regular.
  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
    Showing a distinct lack of unity, stations here are now running from $3.89 up to $3.95 for RUG
  • gagricegagrice Member Posts: 31,450
    Filled today at Costco. Price went down 17 cents to $3.95. How long will that last?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    My third emptiest tank ever; held just a smidge over 18 gallons (20 gallon tank). Before the grocery discount of a couple of bucks, the bill was $75 and some change.

    The good news is that gas went down again and now is only $4.14.

    Regular and diesel at a nearby station is running $4.27. Premium there was $4.54.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    RUG has dropped to $3.91 near me, but $40 still wasn't enough to top off my wife's car from a little less than 1/2 tank tonight.
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    Wow, how big's the tank?
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    was for $4.10 at the usual place, a 9 cents drop. On my route most places are still at $4.30, with a couple at $4.14. The Speedway is at $4.06 and the Gas City is being converted into a Speedway; it's fuel is also $4.06. But this will now put two Speedways within a mile of each other. Diesel's priced about $4.20 and I haven't checked what E85 is priced.

    I have noticed my mileage increased a few ticks over the last couple of fill-ups so we must be switching over to the "summer" blend. I'm wondering what next week is going to bring - I mean, Memorial day weekend is not a good enough excuse to raise prices back up.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    I think 18 gallons.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    Everybody should just stay home Memorial Day. Not hard for me because it usually rains every Memorial Day around here.
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    Pretty decent size - should make for a nice cruising range on the highway. That's the size of the truck's tank. I'm not letting the truck go empty; come to think of it never have let it go bone dry, which is bad for the fuel pump anyway.

    A couple of co-workers just got back from a customer's factory in Evansville, IN. and took one of the company vans. The fill-up: $97. :sick:
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    That's my plan, whole summer matter of fact. Just house projects again and continued belt-tightening.

    May do a car show or two, maybe Pheasant Run for Bloomington and for the Mecum auction here in September but I say that every year and end up not going.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    I go to the Carlisle Shows about 5 times a year - Spring, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Fall. Macungie and Hershey are the other two. Missed the Spring Carlisle because my brother, whom I rarely see, came to town.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    It's in freefall around here; down to $4.09 overnight for regular.

    Soon it's going to be $3.99 and we'll all be thrilled it's so cheap. :)
  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
    $3.89 here...freefall!
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    Good reason to miss the spring show.

    I'm trying to be good and economically responsible (i.e., up the cheapness LOL :P ). So far so good this year, just planning on doing the regular / needed maintenance on the DD truck and the Olds, if needed.

    There are always a few near work during the summer / fall and the weekly one downtown Wheaton on Friday nights I can go to. We'll see. I may try to get to SEMA this year if I swing it as "business".

    $3.87... just sayin' ;)
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Down another two cents - a bit odd, since it usually goes up or down in nickel amounts.

    So, $4.07 currently.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,415
    Paid $4.22 for Chevron premium. One week ago today it was $4.35.
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    LOL, that's diesel / regular petrol dream prices here. Or if I was to drive to Indiana.

    The Speedways are hanging in at $3.99 advertised but everyone else are $4.05 ~ $4.17.
  • larsblarsb Member Posts: 8,204
    Dropped around 20 cents in some places over the last 10 days !!

    I paid $3.789 on 5-15 and today that station had $3.619.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    ...but Plus and Ultra are holding:

    Sunoco at Rising Sun and Longshore in NE Philly:

    RUG = $3.87
    Plus = $4.03
    Ultra = $4.13
  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
    Down to $3.85 this afternoon... who knows what the morning will bring??
  • fezofezo Member Posts: 10,386
    Down to $3.77 at the Jersey shore.

    In news lemko would applaud (and I certainly do) I am losing all my local Lukoil stations. The one on the way to work closed and the Garden State Parkway has a deal with Sunoco. They have already change hands.

    Got my nickel drop today. $4.02 for regular.

    Maybe it'll be $3.99 by the time I need some.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Too bizarre.

    Went up to $4.14 this morning.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    Sunoco at Rhawn and Verree in NE Philly:

    RUG = $3.87
    Plus = $3.97
    Ultra = $4.07

    I'm not getting too comfortable. Read the business news and the dollar fell again and oil is over $100 again. Gee, just in time for Memorial Day. What a coincidence?

    about 3 weeks ago I paid 4.319. Today, same station 4.119.

    I paid $3.459 today.

    What's SAD is that I think this is a LOW price !!

    Well, it is, compared to the $3.789 I paid about 3 weeks ago.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    Still too high!

    Sunoco at Rhawn and Verree in NE Philly:

    RUG = $3.83 - still took $40 to fill my wife's LaCrosse from a little less than 1/2.
    Plus = $3.93
    Ultra = $4.03

    What really surprised me, (or should I say it should not have) is all the lemmings travelling to the Jersey shore this weekend despite the high gas prices. Oh, gas cost dropped a few cents? I could almost picture Homer Simpson and his family, "Gas dropped from $4.13 to $3.93? WOO-HOO! Hey, Marge, kids, lets pack up the Canyonero and drive 60 miles one-way to the beach!"
  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
    That's what I get for reporting an end of the day price from the day before :P

    (but I'll do it again)

    Yesterday was down to $3.79

    Haven't been out yet today
  • PF_FlyerPF_Flyer Member Posts: 9,372
    Another 2 cents to $3.77
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
    Dang, hasn't moved here. Holding at $4.09. Guess there are two Midwest refineries having issues.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
    ...but still too much - Sunoco at Rising Sun and Longshore in NE Philly:

    RUG = $3.59
    Plus = $3.69
    Ultra = $3.82

    Dang! I just topped-off the Grand Marquis at another location where it was 17 cents more across the board! :mad:
  • jae5jae5 Member Posts: 1,206
    Yesterday morning most stations were at $4.12 for 87 octane on average, with a couple Speedways & a Shell at $4.00. In the afternoon all were at $4.26 to $4.30 with one Mobil at $4.16. From what I understand this total increase occured in two increments except for the BPs; they just went for the jugular in one shot. Hadn't heard until this morning that the Joliet facility supposedly had an issue - the question is why did the price of the fuel that was already in the ground suddenly increase? Is that where the supply/demand thing kicks in or is it just the "kick" part, as in "kick in the pants"?

    Fingers crossed my usual place is still the same as it was last Friday at $3.95. Hadn't filled up for that cheap of a price (did I just say that?) since April 8th.
  • fezofezo Member Posts: 10,386
    $3.71.

    I would be stunned if people didn't come to the shore on a hot Memorial Day weekend no matter what gas cost. Loads of these people are heading to million dollar second homes.

    Heck, i go where I am going if I can manage it. I go to New Hampshire every Memorial Day weekend. I did it this year as well. I did have heart failure seeing the gas prices on the Merritt Parkway but I always know to never buy gas in Connecticut.

    It finally moved. From $4.09 to $4.19.

    String beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, carrots, and radishes. All the rain we had earlier this season has accelerated the growth on the tomatoes.
