This one in fireengine red. I'm very blown away by the looks of this car. It can easily pass off as an Infiniti or Lexus.

Nice huh? :shades: I pass a lime green one on my way into work every morning. It is a real eyecatcher.

I agree, nicer than the Civic even though it looks like they copied the Civic's front a bit. The profile is the best view.

a Porsche Panamera (so?). Still had the temp tag on it. Just caught it from behind in a parking lot, but pretty interesting looking, although it seems to be overly laong, and a bit bulbous frm the rear.

Would like to sit in one and scope it out up close. Wonder if the dealer might mind if I dropped in after checking out some randome VW next door?

If it's not locked I'm sure they won't mind. Can't hurt to try.

...a new gray Acura TL driving north on Oxford Avenue near Levick in NE Philly. Funny, the back end of it kind of resembles the face of one of the Transformers.

Even better, every single one comes with a free boomerang, included free of charge, just below the trunk! :D
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
That is one ugly car man.

The old TL was a good looking vehicle and the new TL just isn't. It has an OK side profile but nothing else on that car works.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Agreed. The previous one was handsome. This one's windows are too small, and the grille and trunk decor is awful.

...the first 2010 Buick LaCrosse I've seen in the wild. This one was a light metallic silver and was spotted on Rising Sun near Lansing in Fox Chase in NE Philly.

Saw a gorgeous Steel Blue color Audi R8 heading down Newbury Street in Boston on Saturday and then a few short minutes after it I had the pleasure of hearing a brand new Maserati Coupe' at WOT heading down Beacon St. I seriously was hoping he would make a few rounds around the common just so I could hear it again. Aston V12's at WOT used to be my favorite but this Maserati might be the new favorite. :shades:
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I've seen quite a few. I find them very handsome. Looks just as it should - conservative, but attractive.

WOT down Beacon Street! That would be scary in a VW Beetle :surprise:

It was a short burst as he was passing another vehicle. Probably got her around 5 grand tho. :shades:
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Nice catch. Is that a new ML, or a special edition one?

Camo's gotten so good you'd think it was an old Saturn Vue. :D
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,409
I'm not sure what it was, exactly.

I also saw a masked large BMW driving in plain view in downtown Munich traffic, but it was gone by the time my camera was ready

Could be a test mule for next gen ML AMG powertrain using current gen ML bodywork.

    5 touring, perhaps?
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,409
It was big, a 7er I am sure.

I saw the 5 touring out on the road, and several examples of the new Audi version too.
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,105
Any Panameras? The latest TV spot ('family tree') does it no favors, looks-wise
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,409
    Avis lot near downtown Stuttgart

I saw a couple on the road too. I don't care for them...but had one been given to me as a rental, I would have lived with it :shades:
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
Now that's what I call a premium rental, not like a Buick Lacrosse here

German rental fleets are amazing. I rented a 7 series for what a DTS would have cost me here.

I was in Tucson last weekend and saw a VW that looked like the old Eurovans they used to sell here only it was twice as big. Looked like a Dodge Sprinter but it was definitely a VW. It was going the other way so I couldn't read the model emblem. Any ideas?
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
Was it new? Not a Routan? They look more like Dodge Caravans (which they are). Not twice as big as the old EuroVans though. Maybe a Mexican VW (Volksbus)?

Definitely not a Routan. This looked like a work vehicle, a Sprinter with VW emblems. Tucson is about an hour from the border so maybe this was something sold in Mexico.
  • lvrangerlvranger Member Posts: 27
I had a Transit Connect blow by me doing at least 70 in a 45. I didn't think that little 2.0 had it in it. There were pest control signs all over it. I guess someone had a really bad infestation. Either that or something he captured got out. :) Stupid driver, neat truck.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
I'd like to see a Transit Connect. I didn't think they'd be that zippy either.

Interest is growing - there's about 10 consumer reviews here and some forum interest:

...black Mercedes C300 at the Acme market on Oxford Ave in NE Philly at lunchtime. It's a lousy day to be driving a black car! It's going to be a spotted mess when the sun returns. I left my black Cadillac DTS at home today!
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
Maybe it was the VW Transporter. The current generation is sold in Mexico under the Eurovan nameplate.

Lots of Transit Connects around here. Good vehicle for a small business that needs to carry medium to light weight things plus the FWD for screwy new england weather.
  • lvrangerlvranger Member Posts: 27
Thats it! What a cool van. If it was cheaper than a Sprinter and came with a diesel i'd sell my long bed for one. Too bad no USA version. Maybe there is a grey market for them.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
Spotted both a silver 2010 Ford Taurus and a dark grey 2010 Fusion on my way home from work last night.

Got tailgated on the highway (in the fast lane doing probably 80) by some prick in a new jet black CTS.

Here's the weird thing, is it normal that when you turn the blinkers on on those things that the headlight turns off? It was night time and he had the headlights on (No DRL's) and everytime he put his blinker on, the headlight would go out. :confuse:
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
Did the headlight go out or did it move? Many newer cars have adaptive lights that will turn to the side when turning or when using the blinkers.

Saw the first SHO Taurus out with real plates on it today. I live midway between three large Ford dealers so have seen a few with dealer plates but first one out in the wild.

Also seeing lots more Transit Connect Vans those are selling very well.
  • anythngbutgmanythngbutgm Member Posts: 4,277
I think it just went out, it was like the headlight and the blinker were switching blinker on, headlight off and vice versa. It was too fast to be actually turning away and back again. And we were driving on a straight highway, He was using the blinker so he pass me on the inside.
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
Maybe its a short thats a weird thing to happen on any car but it is possible.
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
It's normal. Chryslers and Dodges have the same feature. When you put a blinker on the headlight goes off, I presume to make the blinker more visible.

I was weirded out the first time I saw it too on a brand new Dodge Ram I sold. mistakenly thought it was an electrical problem.

That's odd; never heard that one before.

My van has a "cornering" light - when you put the blinker on, another light comes on to illuminate the side that you are turning toward. I don't think I like the idea of my headlight going off when I signal.
  • boomchekboomchek Member Posts: 5,516
Not both of your headlights go off, just the one next to the blinker.

  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
I can see that happening when the DRLs are on but with full power lights too? Seems dumb.

Now I am going to have to go next door and drive a Ram to see how that works.
  • steverstever Guest Posts: 52,454
just the one next to the blinker

Understood, but I don't think I like the idea of any of them going out. Maybe I need to be educated more about the benefits but it seems "wrong". Is it really that hard to see an amber turn signal against a headlight?
  • anythngbutgmanythngbutgm Member Posts: 4,277
I don't know if Crysler does this, but the yahoos over at Government Motors also thought it was smart to have the reverse lights stay on once the vehicle was put in park :confuse: . So I'm not really surprised that they have this feature as well, they probably think its some revolutionary breakthru when it's really just awkward.
  • lvrangerlvranger Member Posts: 27
I wonder if the new caddy headlights are LEDs. I know the LEDs on Audis turn off when the turnsignal is used.
