The May issue of Automobile magazine chose the Silverado and Sierra as the best pickups of the year. I had already decided that, before ordering mine. What took them so long to make that decision?
504 mls everything is great friends love it they are all jealous. Even got a few notes on the windshield today when i got out of school today from girls who know me and i got it that want a ride. CHICKS DIG PICKUPS!!! haha
Thanks again everyone.

Drove a hundred thousand miles on my knees.
Hauled marbles and rocks,
thought twice before
I hauled a Barbie doll bed
for the girl next door.
She tried to pay me with a kiss
and I began to understand
There's somethin' women like about a pickup man.

First song in my new truck.
...But what do you expect for a country song?
LOL
(Just kidding)
...Hendrix - VooDoo Chile (Slight Return)....first song for me.....Now THAT'S America man!

Anyone use a waterwing to dry the truck?
From now on we are on a need-to-know basis..
....and I didn't need to know that...

BTW, my '00 LT, 4dr, 5.3, short bed, 3.73 rear still has the rough idle however no other problems. My friends identical truck has no rough idle, has better gas mileage but has a broken steering column adjuster. It failed in the up position (Now it is like a bus steering wheel)
A clarification on the lumbar supports for some - this may not be true on all the different types of seats - but the full featured electric buckets do not use air bladders anymore - there is a physical something in the seat that is moves and presses in the lumbar areas - middle of the back as well as the sides of the seat. Someone mentioned the air bladder - just wanted to clarify that.
I'm also trying to figure out what the deal is with that engine hour gadget on my Z71.
TIA

But metallicas?
Bob Seger goes better with indigo blue!
If you don't know who Jimi Hendrix is....then I guess you might as well listen to country...drive a Dodge..and be a vegetarian....
I met a country singer one time....he said he'd like me to meet his wife and sister.......problem is there was only one girl standing there....
Take a dose of James:

Voodoo Child and old Hendrix tune, there is nothing like listening to the blues. Perhaps the blues is the root to much of the music we listen today. Legends like Hendrix and SRV will never be forgoten for their talents and contributions to this type of music.
It is nice to sit back with a good Stevie Ray Vaughan CD and a bowl of voodoo chile. LOL
Three dealers have said there is nothing that they can do because there are no trouble codes being stored in the computer and that GM has not acknowledged that there is a problem. (no software update to PCM). One poster has stated that the HyperTech Power Programmer III removed the rough idle from his truck as he was reprogramming for larger tires. I may have to spend the $350 for this device if this problem bugs me enough. Not yet...
This truck is like having an opportunity to have a date with the most beautiful girl in the world when one notices a slight zit on her chin. Question: Do I go out with her or not? Yeah -- right, I stay at home. NOT
Love THE TRUCK ....
Dustyone
Im not touchy TIM.
I have absolutely no complaints about this truck. I am a kinda picky person too but nothing bothers me at all. Except im getting sick of people flying by me or taking off from a stop light and i take it easy i know i could blow em off the road but i wanna take it easy for a lil bit.
Ryan
Ryan, My idle seems to be normal at 500 rpm.
Bob
Also, I called Hypertech and there is no recall on the programmers. The guy said if you have a calibration code the programmer does not recognize you need to send it back so it can be updated. He also said GM sends them a CD with all of the calibration codes used in the trucks. That's it, no recall.
Good Luck
Kyle
I was just making fun of the song - Chili. Man, that was a good laugh, thanks...
Yeeeeehaawwww!
As for the rough idle someone was having, change to a copper core plug set. For less than $20, problem will be resolved and also have better performance. You will no longer have 100k mile spark plug life though. More like maybe 35-40k mile life. Such is the breaks to have better performance.
Let me get this straight, the TR55 is stock heat range, copper core plug, and you've gapped them at 0.052? What is the stock gap? More?
Last question, these are Bosch plugs? Wonder about platinum tips gapped at 0.052???
May try the copper cores anyway. Any problems getting the plugs installed around the steering shaft?
Thanks, quad.

What does it look like on the inside?
Yes it opens all the way.
See below link for inside pictures.
Details......
The roof fully opens and closes at the touch of a button. It also has a vent feature. You can stop the glass at any position. There is a fabric slide cover to close out all the light. It automatically opens when you open the roof. It is closed in the pics.
The buttons are backlit green and the ASC button is either green or red. When red, the roof will stay put when you shut the engine off, otherwise it will automatically close when the engine is turned off.
The switch will be replaced in about a week so that the button lettering is in the horizontal position and not vertical (as shown in pics).
The overhead console was cut and I lost the rear 3 compartments. (I laughed when I read page 2-64, the rear compartment can be used for small items like a book!!!).
For some reason when I upload my pics, I lose quite a bit of resolution. Oh well, you get the idea. If anyone would like additional information let me know. I can also snap some more pics from any angle. I really like the moonroof and wished Chevy made it a factory option.

The plugs were a cinch to remove and install. I have become a pro at it now. Got it down to 35 minutes, including the time taken to put anti seize compound on the plug threads. The only one that is a little tricky is actually the #8 plug, which is the plug closest to the firewall on the passenger side. I still didn't have much trouble, but had to use a (forget what it is technically called.....moves to a 90 degree angle on the socket for tight fit situations).
Good luck. I am gaining a new found respect for my truck. I just wish I had done this a year ago.
I also ordered the autotap. I figure I may need it down the road. It will also help to test tolerances of maintenance items like O2 sensors, etc. If they are close to limits, I may replace those too, just for S&G's.
Dan.
Like Swobig, interested in price. Does look great. Have a link on ASC?
Dan,
NGK TR55's. Thanks. I may try this. Gonna take a look at number 8 tonight.
When it bothers me enough I'll raise the hood and get into it. Now the radio's turned up and I'm enjoying the ride!
Gene
Also, I have noticed a slight power steering whine when slightly moving the steering wheel to the left after the truck is warmed up. Anyone else?

You can lookup local dealers, etc. My installed sunroof is the ASC 925 VSS.
