Actually they give me good price up front I just have to negotiate a couple hundred dollars down. I think the best way to do is to email all of your lexus dealer near by they will fight for your business.
I do not think you can get a non-nav model for 39K. That is below cost even after incentives and holdback. They are very few left anyway. Even at 39.5K is too good of a deal. Unelss it's an unwanted color. But you should be able to easily get a nav model for 41K (at least in CA).
39.5k is definitely do-able. I was quoted 41k, but was able to negotiate the price down to 39.5k. It was a silver.
Remember, there is $1500 dealer cash available right now on the 2007 GS350. The invoice of a non-Navi model is just over 40k after holdback. If you count the dealer cash, the true invoice of the vehicle is slightly below 39k.
Which dealer you talked to? What area and how recent? As far as the cost, you are right. And based on that 39.5K is definitely do-able. But my experience was that most dealers in SoCal area are out of the base (no nav) model. You found a popular color for that price. It's a good deal. I doubt anyone would do 39K though!
I found a 2007 GS350 with Navi/ML sterio for $44.5K. Money factor .00305 on a 36 month 12K lease. Residual 49% ($25,416). Would I get a better residual on a 2008 making it worthwhile to lease that car? Does anyone know the residuals? What is the lowest price you have seen for the 2008 car?
Hate buying cars and would appreciate any guidance on a fair price. Info for 2008 has been difficult to come by until the last few weeks and what lexus.com provides is far from perfect and very confusing. MSRP for an AWD is 50K to 51K w/o ML system. What should I expect to pay if purchased as soon as color/options located? Should I look at MSRP and subtract an average discount % or ask to see invoice plus an amount or am I unrealistic? If a dealer trades for the desired car does that affect the price?
Also looking for reviews on the color Opaline Pearl as I would have to purchase site unseen. On the web it looks good, but I've heard it's not so great in real light.
I'm on the same boat here. I emailed several dealers around my area and got only *ONE* quote! I could have better reponses if I had started calling them, but I'm not in hurry....
I've got $3500 off of the MSRP from the quote, so I think around $4000 or $4500 off is definitely possible. I'll probably make a deal this weekend or after Thanksgiving..
I've been looking to buy a (white) 2007 GS350 and I was wondering if it would be best to purchase now, at the end of the year or Jan. 08. I'm hoping to get the car for the same price as someone else who posted previously (39.5k?). When would be the best time to buy? I live in Houston, Tx.
Not sure you can strike the same deal here in Houston. Now is probably the best time as the dealers are looking to get rid of their remaining 07's. Drop me an email and I can refer you to the guy I purchased from and see if he can work you a better deal.
Curious to know if this is a good deal. Dealer is holding firm: '08 GS350 AWD with NAV and options, list is $50,890. Dealer is offering at $46,500. 39 month lease, 12K miles, residual is 52% and MF is .00185 with no Cap Cost Reduction. They are anxious to close deal by month end, which is OK with me, but I'm wondering if there is room in the price?
This is my 1st potential lease, and he tells me that there is no negotiating residual value and MF. Is he leveling with me? If so, then only wiggle room is in the price and trade in value, I guess.
Swift reply is greatly appreciated, if I am to close the deal in Nov. Thanks.
The MF and the residual seem to be what is being offered for the Dec sale. The 39 month lease was what also offered me. I would guess without knowing what your options are that the invoice is something like $ 45800. What is the monthly lease? Something like 700 to 1000 over invoice can be considered to be a good deal. You can buy down the the MF with multiple deposits. You could get the MF down to .00113. And you get the deposits back at the end of the lease
Hi, Thanks for the fast reply. Options are: Navigation, rain sensing wipers, adaptive headlights, ventilated front seats, wood / leather steering wheel, rear spoiler, power rear sunshade, intuitive park assist, wheel locks, cargo net. Where does one go to find the dealer invoice? If you are right at $45,800, then they are offering at $700 over invoice. Monthly lease is $650. They mentioned buying down the monthly factor, but no one mentioned anything about it being refunded at the end.
hi, im debating between GS 350/ and IS 250/350 . Who did you buy your GS from and what price/option did you get and year model? My email angell8@hotmail.com.
I would say the best i can tell is the invoice on that car is $45500 that includes an advertising coast that does not show on web site costs list. To see the mark ups you can go to KBB.com or NADA.com and work through the prompts to get the cost. Than build your car on Lexus web site to compare MSRP and yes you get the deposit back.
I'm looking for a 2008 GS 350 AWD with the following options: ML+Nav, Rain-sensing wipers, Intuitive park assist, Wood& Leather steering wheel, power rear sunshade, rear spoiler, and ventilated front seats.
The MSRP from Lexus website (with options and destination charge) is $52,460. The invoice price (including options and destination charge) is $45,884. This does not include the additional $500 or so that I've heard (on this forum) dealers charge as advertising fee etc.
What would be a good price to pay for this? :confuse: I'm in Washington state but can buy from other states if I get a good deal out of WA. Thanks in advance for the help.
Hi 2 days ago I completed a deal on virtually the same car here in NJ. MSRP was $50,880. I was able to get it for $46,000, after dickering for 2 days. Other nearby dealers either didn't have '08s or were asking for $3000 more, even tho I told them that I had already been dealing with their competition.
I wound up leasing the car for $600 a month. I traded in a 10 yr old Explorer with 121,000 miles. While I didn't get what I hoped to for it (I got 1250, as they claimed some impending mechanical failure (?), they did take an additional $400 off the sale price to get me to the $600 monthly payment. I didn't pay any additional cap cost reduction - just tax up front (that's how it's done in NJ) and other banking / admin / state fees totaling $3750.
This dealer (Prestige) claims to be the 3rd or 4th largest in the country and had the largest supply of '08s and were the most aggressive negotiators (meaning they took the most off to close the deal.) And I drove away with the car several hours after the hand shake.
LOVE the car. Fabulous toys inside, and a wonderful ride.
Many thanks to all who contributed info to me this past week. Couldn't have know I was getting such a good deal without the knowledge gained here.
Thanks for the details. I saw your original post and it looks like you've got among the best deal yet on the '08...Congrats! Dealers here don't even have a GS 350 AWD with ML in stock, which I find surprising. I contacted a few dealers in Oregon and California and their price quotes are not too good (ranging from $2500 off MSRP to $3500 off MSRP). After reading your post, I've contacted Prestige but they aren't providing quotes in email and want to talk over the phone. I'll see how that goes.
Thanks. I'm in Seattle. I'd rather not do the cross country drive myself, so shipping would be preferable. I haven't shopped around comprehensively for shipping, but based on a couple of online quotes, I'm getting $1700 to $2200 (+tax) for insured door-to-door enclosed shipping, which will probably dilute most of any gain from buying it in NJ . I'll still wait for the quotes and evaluate it.
I was really particular about the options on the car – ’08 GS 350AWD Obsidian/Black with ML+Nav (and a bunch of other options). The MSRP on this car is $52,650. It turns out that Lexus doesn’t make many of the GS350s with ML. I contacted a lot of dealers on the West coast for price quotes. None of them had it in stock, but most were willing to special order it. Dealers in WA were unwilling to discount more than $1500-$2500 on this car. The best I was able to get from a nearby dealer was $4000 off MSRP from Lexus of Portland after some effort. I was also able to negotiate $5000 off MSRP from Prestige Lexus in NJ, who were very keen on adding a buyer from WA in their list. However, I didn’t want to drive cross-country in this weather and having the car shipped would’ve diluted the gain of buying from NJ (it typically costs ~$1400 for open-container shipping and ~$2400 for closed container shipping from NJ to WA). I finally decided to go with a broker (they work for you as a middle-man between the dealer and you and take the pain of negotiating, paper-work etc). The broker was able to get the car for $4400 off MSRP including the broker fee and shipping cost (it’s through a California dealer), which I think is still a good deal on this car. My car’s been special ordered, so I’ll have to wait 3-4 months for it. If you don’t want ML then you might have better luck in both pricing and availability.
On Wednesday, September 19, 2007, I made a verbal agreement to purchase a 2007 Lexus ES350 from Lexus of Peoria on 7301 N. Allen Road, Peoria, Illinois. On Thursday, September 20, 2007, I picked up a check from National City Bank and proceeded to the Lexus dealer. I traded in a 2003 I35 Infiniti for $10,000.00 agreed to on September 19th. Approximately 10:15 am, I gave the Finance representative keys to the Infiniti and a bank draft . The following documents were signed at this time:
Dealer Bill of Sale Odometer Disclosure Statement for the 03 Infiniti Odometer Disclosure Statement for the 07 Lexus Temporary Registration Plate , Customer’s copy IDOR Form ST-556 Sales Tax Transaction Return Vehicle Tire and Wheel Guarantee
After pleasantries were exchanged, I left with my new 2007 Lexus ES350.
On Monday, September 24th, 2007, I was outside at my home waxing the new vehicle, when Peoria Lexus calls me on my mobile phone and indicates that after he ran the numbers on the sale, I owed them another $3,700 dollars because the job lost money. I indicated that I would be back in Peoria the next week and would return to discuss the issue. After several harassing phone calls from Lexus of Peoria, that week, I contacted my attorney explain the situation. I was advised that we have completed a valid sales transaction.
Lexus of Peoria indicated to their attorney and re-produced a bill of sale signed with initials “my initials” were supposedly I came back into the dealership on September 20, 2007 and initialed but did not have the time to write my full name to memorialize the new price.
As of today, December 27th, 2007, Lexus of Peoria has not paid off but continues to market the 2003 I35 Infiniti. Filed the IDOR Form ST-556 Sales Tax Return which by law has to be filed with in 20 days to the Secretary of State. Additionally they have filed a complaint against me with the Court in Peoria, Illinois.
Last week I bought a 2007 GS 350 with 1250 miles, Nav, Heated & ventilated seats, park assist, Sirius, from a NYC area dealership for 42M. Lexus Financial matched my bank with a 25M 48 month loan @ 6.25%. Offered them thousands less than they wanted, negotiated for an hour, but ultimately they wouldn't let me out. Sweet deal on a great car.
Lexus of Manhattan. I found the car on the internet (automotive.com) and made an offer over the internet. FYI, at the time of my purchase there were 3 similar cars in Little Falls NJ (Tri-County Lexus) and one in Ramsey NJ (Prestige Lexus). I planned to make the rounds until I got ab acceptable deal, but Manhattan was my first stop and I was able to get the deal I wanted.
I just bought my 2006 lexus gs300 for 35,991 with 19,000 miles..I'm really glad I didn't buy the 07-08 as I have learned the Navigation hidden maintance screen override has been taken away. I also found out that if you have an 06 model and put the new 7.1 disk you also loose the ability to turn on your navigation as you drive...I'm greatful to all those of you who buy new as my car's invoice is 50,800.00 before delivery.
I just wanted to make sure if you know about the secret screen and are hoping that remains it doesn't. so version 5 of the navigation is the last verision you can turn off the lockout...I love being able to turn off there safety feature..It's wasn't fair that I couldnt use the navigation as a passenger.
Well, getting an 06 instead of the 07 or 08 has more disadvantage. The only advantage the 06 has is the cheaper price and the being able to use the nav while moving. The 07-08 has the newer 5th generation navigation which has a higher resolution screen and faster response time. The navigation can also be overridden with a modification which costs about $300 or so. The main thing about the 07-08 is the engine, that 300 engine compared to the 350 is lathargic. Also, the I agree button is gone with the 7.1 DVD for gen 5 navigations.
I'm interested in a base 2008 gs350. I think the base model is well-equipped enough and I dont need to splurge on extra options.. Are there any available without any options? If so, please tell me what prices you have experienced. Thanks

Happy Driving
Generally in a competitive market, one should be paying the following amounts at this time of the year:
Without Navi: 39-39.5k + TTL
With Navi: 41-41.5k+ TTL
Remember, there is $1500 dealer cash available right now on the 2007 GS350. The invoice of a non-Navi model is just over 40k after holdback. If you count the dealer cash, the true invoice of the vehicle is slightly below 39k.
There are still a few vehicles without navigation available in the bay area.
ML, Nav, few others
Paid : $43,850 excl. TTL

Thx in advance.

Thanks for any input.
I've got $3500 off of the MSRP from the quote, so I think around $4000 or $4500 off is definitely possible. I'll probably make a deal this weekend or after Thanksgiving..
Good luck,
Thanks in advance,

Hope it goes well for you. Where are you located, and what will it cost to ship the car your way, or would you fly in and drive back?
