Today i was driving around scottsdale when i saw a 2007 g35 making it turn, it looked good and at first i thought it was an older one but i rememberd the new lines and some of the styling tweaks, also on the back it had a michigan license plate. had i seen it earlier i would hve taken a pic with my cell phone
Over on www.vtec.net they've just posted a rumor that the 2007 Acura TL will get an increase in HP from 258 to close to 300 HP. Lots of rumors..FWD/AWD...etc..
With the IS350 up over 300 HP and the new G coming..Acura had to raise the bar. They sell a ton of TL's vs IS/G/3 Series, so it would make sense for Honda to protect this market segment.
I hate to sound like I am just being contrary, but I think that this car could use MORE advantage, not less. I could care less about fuel economy, the difference of a few mpg is insigniifcant compared to the performance gains to be had. (Actually, pretty much every car on the market is under-geared right now.)
A drop from 25 highway to 23 highway is about $1000 over 100,000 miles at $3/gallon. I'd make that trade any day.
It would also mean less stress on the transmission.
i hope the new models has perforated/cooled seats instead or in addition to heated seats. here in california, i never use the heat feature and am dying for the cooling feature.
We're looking to purchase a new car next spring and are very interested in the new 2007 G35 sedan. Though, we have a question. If we end up buying one, do you think we should pay the extra money to get the AWD system on the car? We live outside of Portland, OR and there's always a lot of rain for most of the year. Occasionally we will get some snow in the winter months. We would be buying the G35 to replace our 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 and our other car (as you can probably tell from my username) is a 2006 Ford Mustang GT convertible.
Sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this... :confuse:
What I'm waiting to see is the production version of that Coupe Concept that made the auto show rounds this year! That has the potential to be seriously hot.
"I think I'm going 335i sedan. My gos that is a hot car. Buh Bye Infiniti.

Good luck!
I am scheduled to drive 335i Coupes at a “Drive It Hard & We’ll Pay For Gas & Tires” BMW event here near Atlanta in a couple of weeks, and I am looking forward to evaluating the new 335i's drivetrain, but I am certainly not going to eliminate the G35 without also at least driving one...

Great points, I too love the looking of the new body style, dual exhaust.......and while at the 2006 Atlanta Auto Show I asked the Infiniti rep about 'green tech', and he just blew me off and talked about performance. Well I drove a Porsche for four years when I lived in Germany and gas mileage is important too. Maybe next the 6 speed auto will be available. Japanese car's gas mileage is not the best.
Recd a net ad for the G and followed the link to see the pics. Huge improvement over the looks of the current sedan. Actually, the tail, with the Coupe's flared fenders moving over to the sedan, looks like a Coupe from the rear. I like the car on whole where I found the current sedan to look a bit narrow from behind when on the road.
for all those who posted msgs about a g35 convertible, the dealer told me on several occassions that the g35 will be coming out in a hardtop covertible version in the next 2-3 but will be pitted against the slk and sc430.
Just got the latest issues of Automobile Magazine & Motor Trend (I think it was). Both have reviews of the 2007 G35 Sedan & the 0-60 times are coming in in the lower 5 second range.
It is hard to believe that it is possible given the new numbers: "All G35s get Infiniti's fourth-generation VQ35 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 306 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque". So the torque is DOWN! This does not sound too encouraging.
However, the '07 MSRPs on G35 are holding pretty steady!
