    My major concern about the 2007 would be the potential for "hidden" price increases due to the rearranging of option packages, particularly if you are looking at a configuration like the current journey/tech pkg. It is not clear whether or not it will cost the same to get a car configured like an '06 journey/tech at the same price. It would be a drag if an option you had your heart set on was only available in another package that bumped the price.

    Of course, there is always the possibility that they'll offer something new and cool (real ipod integration maybe????) on the '07 model. That would be a drag for us '06-ers.

    Another argument for the '07 is simply that its a new model year with perhaps some subtle engineering improvements.

    Isantizo: I believe you can do MUCH better than that; don't sign until you've done more shopping. I'm paying $605 (including sales tax) for my M35 Sport/Journey/ Tech/Aero that has an MSRP of ~ $53K. I'm in Tucson, AZ where there's only ONE Infiniti dealer and the base lease for a bare bones M35 is $499 w/ basic fees due at signing. In San Jose, CA you're not that far away from a boatload of Infiniti dealers and I can't imagine that you can't find the same car elsewhere for a monthly payment $100 less!

    Luis ... I'll go out on a limb and say that simply using the internet in/around San Jose you can find a dealer willing to give you a far more favorable lease contract.

    A 12,000/year lease on this one would run about $565 + tax for 24 months.

    I am still trying to get the invoice price but at first glance....is this good or bad?

    For a 24 month lease that's a superb price, IMO. You're getting my car sans Sport for the same money per month and getting out of it 12 months earlier! You may find better, but not MUCH better ... they're down to the nitty-gritty in this transaction, IMO, unless they're nicking you with a substantial cap reduction out front. If it's just the "fees" ... I wouldn't hesitate to sign that lease. Bart :shades:

    Mr. K --- It DOES change my thinking a bit. Base fees usually include taxes, vehicle registration for the first year, the first month's lease payment ... depending upon the state it could be as little as $1,000 (a guess off the top of my head). So $3200 down may mean you're paying the equivalent of an extra $100/month for 24 months so the deal becomes less attractive. You'll be paying the equivalent of $700/ month X 24 months = $16,800 and then you will have to start again and in year #3 (with whatever you get next) you'll have another $8400 for a total after 36 months of $25,200. Compare this to my $600 X 36 months = $21,600 and you're now $3600 behind the curve. From an economic perspective it's not as good a deal, but from a different perspective it may work for you. If, for example, you're like me and like changing cars fairly frequently and you're willing to spend an extra few bucks for the luxury of walking away a year sooner then it's fine! A very personal choice, IMO ... Bart :shades:

    I presume you're speaking of a 36 month lease? You're awfully close to making it work. If tax is 7% you're ~ $20 over your $600 target and I'd try walking away ... see if they come back at your number. "Call me if you decide you can meet my number", and drive away. When I leased mine I literally got back into my Caddy and drove home ... within a half hour they called me and agreed to write the deal at my number.

    The deal's EASY to make, even beat, with an M35 but if your heart's set on the V8 you'll have to play some hard ball. Bart :shades:

    Mr. K: Are they jacking you up to the bigger fancier vehicle, or are you? You can crunch the numbers as well as I can ... with THIS car they're hitting you with another ~ $83 per month so you're still in the ~ $710 per month range for 36 months. That's $25,560 and almost the same total you'd be paying for the 24 month lease plus the cost of the next 12 months' lease that I wrote about a couple of posts back. Bart

    Where in the numbers can i save money? Other infiniti dealers say they cant touch the deal.

    It is a 500 over invoice deal. Are they sneaking fees in somewhere?

    I do love the M45sprt.

    The numbers I quoted WAS for a 24 month.

    I think I will take your advice in that I will email him with the 600 out the door monthly and just wait.

    If I dont hear from them by the thursday before memorial day I will go shopping around.

    It's an awfully good deal for a 24 month lease but remember ... you've got the next 12 months of your next lease to pay. If you were to sign a 36 month lease for that M45 you'd likely get well within your numbers without a hassle.

    I would toss my numbers to the internet salesmen at all of the Infiniti dealers in your vicinity ... you may have to go a 100 mile radius ... and you'll simply speed up the process. And, if someone DOES take your numbers you can tell your local guy you've got it available elsewhere and make him fish or cut bait sooner rather than later.

    Does anyone ever post latest money factors and residuals? We keep talking about $/month but that's the wrong way to focus when leasing, since there are so many factors that can affect that last number and it's hard to tell whether one is getting a good deal or not.

    I just shopped a M35X w/ journey and tech pkg. MF was .00063 and residual for 24 mos was 68% for 10K and 67% for 12K miles

    I've been away for a week so haven't posted. You're coming to the end of the month, often a chance to snatch up a special deal if a dealer or salesman or sales manager is a unit away from a bonus. If other dealers can't touch the deal you may have to modify your parameters a tad to get the car you want ... and if you step out to a 36 month lease v. a 24 month least you should be able to come in below your ceiling numbers.

    I got a good lease number, but hanging around this thread I am finding I could have done a bit better. Hindsight is 20/20 but when I start struggling to save another $25/ month and Uncle Sam is paying part of it I simply give in and drive home with no regrets.

    Couple of questions, the MSRP was $57,000. You only put $4,000.00 down, no more? Is the $613/ month include tax?

    The dealership in Florida still says the a MSRP of $50,000 on an M35 Sport, Journey & Tech with $3000 down, 39 month / 12k is $645 (tax included). That's the lowest they can go. :mad:

    Competition with the M's in California must be high. :confuse:

    I believe that you may find a 24 month lease less expensive per month than a 39 month lease. Give it a try. Also, don't put any money at all down and use that money to give them extra security deposits (which you will get back at the end). That will also reduce your payments. Read again carefully...NO MONEY DOWN - PUT THAT MONEY INTO MULTIPLE SECURITY DEPOSITS. If you are confused, just say those words to the dealer. Ignore all the words the dealer tells you about how little multiple security deposits reduce the rate...just have them calculate it. This is the biggest hidden bargain in leasing folks....and the dealers don't even understand it because they are so busy trying to get you to put down a bid down payment so your monthly payments are only $199, etc.

    Again...money you put down in front is gone..you don't see it again. Put 3600 down on a three year lease and you are just paying an extra $100 a month up front. You get security deposits back at the end..they are just held in the "infinity" bank.

    I just rechecked my numbers. MSRP of $50,000 on an M35 Sport, Journey & Tech with $3000 down, 39 month / 12k is $645 (tax included). That's the lowest they can go.

    That's my car, although I also have the aero kit. That's also my lease ... ~ $645/ month including sales tax ... registration + fees amounting to ~ $1,500 out the door. Laderaking's deal is, IMO, is quite good. For an M45 I'd have happily paid another $100/ month to be sealed into a 24 month lease ... I get "itchy" for a change irrespective of WHAT I'm driving at ~ two years.

    Please explain. I've been leasing for 15 years and have NEVER seen a 24 month lease that came close to being less expensive than a 36 or 39 month lease. I can use an education here ...

    Usually a three year lease is cheaper. It just depends on the manufacture's program. I was a sales and finance manager at a Ford dealership for eleven years. Right now the two year program for Infiniti (at least in Miami, Florida) is better than the three year program. Now days because car manufacturers are selling less cars, they are making the shorter term programs better. The main reason is that if you lease a car more often, they sell more cars. Mercedes, Infiniti, and some other manufacturers are improving their short term programs tremendously.

    The fact is that the dealers finance person often has no idea what the best lease is. Most uneducated buyers only look at the monthly payment so all dealer finance efforts focus on reducing that number. Don't accept when the dealer just blurt out ..oh the 24 month lease will cost you much more...make them do the calculation for your car...they may be shocked (and you may be too).

    If you read back in this forum to the April Infinity finance rates and residuals and you calculate the monthly payments based on those numbers, you'll find that the 24 month lease has a lower monthly payment than the 36 month lease.

    In my deal, the 36 month lease would have jumped about 70.00 a month.

    The 24 month residual value on the M45 is extremely high, thus the great rates for leasing within the term.

    I strongly disagree with you regarding finance managers not knowing the best deal. Like I mentioned before, I was a finance manager/sales manager working leases for eleven years. I got paid on the profit I generated for the dealership. If I didn't know what the best lease was at all times, I would be leaving money on the table. You are right - most people only care about payment and downpayment. Therefore, it would make no sense to put someone in a 36 month lease instead of 24 month lease if the consumer was paying the same payment and down payment but a higher price for the 24 month lease. There are many finance managers that may not know the best lease. But, without doubt, the majority of finance managers will know the best lease. Why would they want to leave money on the table if most people are only concerned about down payment and payment and not price??!! :)

    My present car was lease for two years and that lease will be up in a few months. The car was in an accident and is being repaired at a shop authorized by the leasing company, which is the manufacturer's own. I've been shopping M35s and one Infiniti salesperson has suggested that, when I get my repaired car back, I could bring it to his dealership and see if the sales manager will consider buying me out of the current lease and getting me into a lease a new M35. Does this seem reasonable, or likely to be fraught with problems? One concern I've had is that the current leased car's reduced value (because of the accident, even though repaired) might be something I have to pay for if I return the car to old dealership at end of lease -- in that scenario, being bought ought would offer relief from that and put me in a new car. On the other hand, why would a new dealer want to buy a car with an accident in its history, unless they had a way to pass along costs to me in the new lease?

    1) if they buy you out of the old lease, that money will come from you in the new lease....they aren't just going to pay off the old lease (unless the leasing company has some special deal going). Be very careful here...usually they try to hide the dollars somewhere and you do wind up paying just the same as if you finished the lease.

    2) If the car is repaired correctly there should be no decrease in it's residual value from a leasing point of view when you turn in the car. If the car is not repaired correctly, then you have to go back to your body shop and get it repaired correctly. Going to the body shop the dealer normally uses saves alot of potential problems

    3) I think I've had about four leased cars which needed body work during the lease and none have ever been a problem when I turned in the car.

    Thanks, ghstudio and kyfdx ... in this case the dealer (from whom I bought the car being repaired) is a large luxury car dealership with its own body shop and the lease is with their manufacturer's leasing company, so everything's "under one roof." The person who leased the car to me also left an email this morning (in response to a similar inquiry to him) also saying not to worry about bringing the car back in a few months and walking away.

    I stopped to take another look at the Audi A6 (which I'm weighing against the M35) and the salesman there was skeptical as you are. His response: "Here, what we might do, is sell or lease you the Audi for $500 over invoice and you take the money you've saved and pay off the last two months of your lease. Bring it back on time and walk away." Not sure i save anything, though, with a lease unless, when I ran the residual by folks here, it didn't seem to have been lowered the same amount as would be subtracted from the MSRP. Do I seem to have that right?

    I don't see any pitfalls here. You know the numbers, you can "drop it on the floor and see if it bounces". In either event the dealer will cut whatever deal makes economic sense to HIM and if it makes sense to you then go for it. If the damage was extensive and easily identifiable the odds are he'll sell it to a wholesaler on the phone before he makes his "final offer" to you. If the repairs have been done expertly and are NOT readily identifiable he may well put it on his own lot to sell. I have a close family friend who has had several dealerships in the 40+ years I've known him. He insists he makes more money on sales of used vehicles than new ones, and it's got to be true. When we traded my wife's 10 year old Grand Cherokee w/ 40K miles in on her Lexus we got $7,500 for it --- consistent w/ blue book. It was on his lot the next day for $12K and the odds are he got close to that number because it was sold within a week. What else will turn a 70% profit in that short a time? Bart :shades:

    Yesterday I leased a blk/blk M35 with Tech and Journey package. The price was $44200, lease is 15K/year, 36 months, $350/mo (includes Ca. tax) and they surprisingly gave me $10K for my trade in. The rate was 0.94 and I think the residual was 55%. The car is stunning! They are even adding a "clear bra" which my trade in needed 6 years ago.

    Here you go, taxd00d. If you were to lease a 2006 Infiniti M35 AWD through Infiniti Financial Services right now for 24 months with 15,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00063 and 66%, respectively. I have not seen this car's 30 month program, but its 36 month numbers are .00114 and 55%.

    It's difficult to say whether the 2007 model or the 2006 model will have a more attractive lease program next month. The '06 models will almost certainly have lower money factors, but the '07 models will have higher residual values. The fact that you will get similar prices on both the '06 and '07 models probably means that they '06 will be less expensive to lease. It is difficult to say for certain though until Infiniti's June lease program is published later this week. Please feel free to check back with me late this week and I will be happy to give you an idea of what this car's new June lease program is like.
