That is correct but what they also forget to tell you is with the tech package the iphone will not connect with the AcuraLink server. AcuraLink isn't that big of a deal but they do advertise it and you have to have a phone that can work like a modem which AT&T does not allow you to do with a Iphone. Everything else works fine on the tech and also the non tech.

The non Tech also will charge you iphone while connected

so do you believe the tech package is worth the extra money?
  • jvettejvette Member Posts: 70
Yes, I really feel the Tech Package is worth the extra money. Weather and Traffic are kind of a gimmick and not really worth it but this is hands down the best factory installed Nav system. The sound system is also a great upgrade.

We just bought a 2010 MDX advance tech package and it is amazing. They gave us a base model while they finished a few things and the sound quality between the two is ridiculous. The base model just doesn't feel, sound, or drive as nice as the one we bought.

Where did you purchase your advance and at what price? Thanks.

I need to replace my headphones for my MDX. Do anyone know of an aftermarket, website besides the dealer where I can buy two headphones. According to the dealer, headphones are not under warranty, and priced at $171.00 each. Any suggestions? Thanks

On the '07& up Entertainment packages, is the rear passenger able to watch the DVD and the front passenger able to listen to the radio at the same time? Can this be done without using the wireless headphones for the rear source?
    Thanks.

I've never been able to "split the speakers" in our '07, I don't think it can be done, back seat must use HP's, difficult endeavor with children under 4. :P

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly why I asked because we have a 2 year old that would not use the headphones. Just to clarify, if they are watching Curious George on the DVD in the back seat without the headphones, there is not any way for me to listen to the radio up front? The DVD will play throughout all of the speakers in the car?

If he puts the wireless headphones on he can listen to the DVD and I can listen to the radio?

What is the advantage of getting the Entertainment package instead of having the rear DVD installed aftermarket?

You're stuck listening to Curious George just as I am stuck listening to Bob the Builder, Mickey mouse and Boz.

I thought one could upload mp3s from USB onto the HDD. But it only works with music CDs for copyright purposes. Does anyone know if you can upload music from the ipod/usb? These are mp3s that were bought from iTunes. Thanks!

    Hi,

I didn't see anybody answer your question. If you figured it out, please let me know as well. Want to get the after market DVD entertainment system put in. Which system do you recommend? How much is usual installation? Do dealers install (if you buy the system)?

    Thanks

I have a base '11 MDX. I have an iphone and I'd like to listen to music through the AUX input. What's a good (and cheap) cable that I can use to hook up the iphone to the MDX.

    Thanks in advance.

I am not sure about all of the specifics of the '11, I have a "07. I hook my ipod up through the AUX input using an audio/video cable (hooking it up through area located behind the console.) This is what my dealer told me to get. As long as you have the red and white cords you should be good! Hope this helps...

Thanks. I have a couple of AV red and white cords laying around. I'll try using one of them.

    Hi Folks,

Every time I drive my wife's 04 MDX, I want to thank Acura for transporting me to Dark Ages since the FM/AM radio reception is worse than a Ham Radio that might have been built in 40s!! I recall reading a service bulletin on the Antena! Was there recall of this?!

This is a Bose system, but it feel like they are using bulbs instead of transistors since you only hear static?! Is there a cure for this short of ditching the car!?

I just had a great cable installed to integrate my iphone music with the audio controls and display my music just like XM. I went to a car audio store and they did the install. It works great, I love it. Can't remember the name of the cable but any audio car store will know.

Terrible sound in my 2005 MDX.

Have 2005 mdx without nav, right front channel just went out, it plays ever so slightly. Checked tweeter and door speaker, seem fine, but can barely hear them. What can it do next? This happens whether its FM or CDs playing. Please help!

    Hi,

I have ACURA MDX 2010. The audio system turns off every 23-24 seconds. The monitor also turns off. Than, it turns on and goes on playing.

    Here's a link:

Anyone who had the same problem, please feel free to write some suggestions...
