Also, I noticed the tire pressure was a bit low. I inflated to 33 psi, and I'm getting much better fuel economy. I'm very happy with my car.
MY BAD
My wife had put a pair of sunglasses in the holder ( above mirror )
They were rattling !!!!
Funny thing is, the rattle sound sounded like it was coming from the passenger door.
I really do love the car again !!!!
The guy at the gas station told me to give it 5000 miles to get a truer picture of the gas mileage. I'm bringing the car back to the dealer in a couple of weeks for them to check out the squeaking brakes and popping speaker noises, so I'm going to bring the mileage issue up to them as well to see what they say.
When I drive it around the neighborhood I can barely hear it, and even then I can't tell if it cycles that often. I just notice it when coming to a stop. I'm thinking of taking it in to the dealer to get it looked at .No other car with an AC that I've owned does that. What do you think? .... Macsan
I hate this noise. If I wanted a car with rattle, I would have bought GM
LOL....Amen, brother!

Or is it the Accord that you owe the apology
Yes! You need to apologize to your Accord for comparing it to a GM. Do it quickly, so it doesn't get mad.
I used to own a 99 mazda 626 v6, I did not feel so much vibration. Just want to know if this is normal for accord or I just got a very coarse one.
Anyone have a fix? I'm kidding --- I'm obviously going to take it to the dealer. But, I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.
I wouldn't try drilling holes. No telling what you might hit back there. Do what I did, apply some self stick felt to the bottom back-side of the plate. No more rattling.
Just bought a 2008 v-6 sedan mystic green metallic for the wife in March. I live in Hawaii and our salesman also sold us our previous Honda (Odyssea) in 2000. He is very thorough in his research in all the Hondas, their features and competitor's vehicles.
He 'X' out the colors in the brochure that he would not recommend since, according to his research, Honda applies fewer coats of paint! He went on to say that here in the middle of the Pacific, the sun beats down on the finish practically year-round vs the States in the higher latitudes with Winter seasons.
Over the years of selling Hondas, he got feedback from his customers and noticed that certain colors faded and became chalky sooner than other colors. He did research and found out that Honda does not apply the same coats of paint for all the colors! I do not know the auto painting process, and could not understand why Honda would spend more time/money to apply more coats of paint to the same vehicle, depending on the color!
Apparently, it is not a major issue with Honda since most of the cars they sell will not have a problem with fading/chalky paint. With a garage and normal care; washing, wax 1-2 times a year, most factory paint finishes should last 5-8 years, until they are sold or traded in.
The colors he recommended were Gold Beige Metallic, Mystic Green, Alabaster Silver, Polished Metal, White Diamond Pearl. Taffeta White, according to him, had the least coats and will fade/chalk the fastest. The other colors had more layers of paint, but the ones he indicated, had the most. He goes on to say, unless you want to polish you car every month, he would recommend we choose one of the colors he indicated. Wife liked the green!
Anyway, I cannot verify or refute what was told to me about Honda not applying the same number of coats for all the colors, I just wanted to pass this information on to you. Ultimately, pick the color you like, since it will be with you for the next few years, at least.
Good luck in your purchase, wife loves the car!
Aloha :shades:
Thanks
One last thing, my 15% oil life came on at near 6,500. I thought most were near 10,000 before this happens. I do drive 50 miles freeway every day where speeds are about 80mph. Maybe that shortens the life of the oil.
3 times now, I have been driving when, all of the sudden, I get the beeping tones that indicate a seatbelt is not plugged in. The car is sensing that there is a passenger (there is none) and that the passenger does not have their seatbelt on. A short time after the beeping starts, the passenger airbag light goes off, indicating some issue with the airbag. Is this similar to your problem? I have not yet taken mine to the dealer for this problem - but will shortly. I'm going to be one unhappy camper if that is a problem that they can't fix.. . . .
Will you share your experience in a little more detail . . thanks!
(I couldn't stand waiting more than 6500 miles -- I ALWAYS change my oil every 3000-4000 miles and, when my vehicles are new, I change the oil at 750 miles, 1500 miles and 3000 miles (although I'm usually doing this to much larger displacement, American-made SUVs) -- I was very proud that I was able to hold off until 6500 )
My last Honda was running excellent when I sold it at 210,000 miles. I always changed the oil after the indicator came on at 7,000 miles.
But wouldn't you be confused if when you started the car it said "VSA OFF" when it was actually on. This is what happens every time I start my car, passenger or not. It always says OFF first then goes clear. I guess when you start the car this test to see if the light is working and is similar to the light responding to no passenger.
No one else was confused by this?
thanks for the response....i see they didn't mention the black (nighthawk pearl)
Exactly. And actually, the VSA light should illuminate when you crank your car, with the rest of the dash lights. And sorry, I really wasn't too confused by it - it seems normal.
I find this very unusual and unacceptable for a low emission engine. Comments please so I can pursue with the dealer and Honda.
Thanks
Roger
