GMC Terrain
GMC has just announced that the 2010 Terrain crossover, the mechanical twin of the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, will start at $24,995, $1,810 more than Chevy.

If anyone reads this and has an AWD Equinox, please tell me how it handles in the snow - I live in an area that gets belted with snow & the plows don't make regular runs down the street. I need to know if GMC's AWD will be enough for me. Thank you!
On appearance, I don't think much of the large fender bulges on this vehicle. I hope "Motor Week" gets one of these and does some actual testing to see what the real world performance is.
For me, the deal killer was the second seat. I cannot remember a more uncomfortable seat in any vehicle, especially the center position. I won't get too much into my assessment of the interior materials, but just say that they look and are cheap. Such a shame as this is suppose to be the first new vehicle from governmental motors. I am much more interested in the Traverse and I am a very happy owner of the Chevy Avalanche, so I am not just bashing this vehicle. Good luck GM on how others feel.
The Terrain indeed does compete with Escape which was standing next to it, Traverse and Avalanche are in a completely different class and price range. It sounds like you were expecting something the Terrain is not.
And, we might even take the base four-cylinder engine over the optional V6."

Can someone get this added to the GMC forums, I keep having to search it???
I'll see if we can get it in the right alpha sort order.
Where are you looking when you can't find it btw?
Now that you are here, you may want to follow this discussion with the Watch tool.
Thanks!
Fairly sure that I saw the same "mistake" in NJ last week - for sure the salesman said cloth heated seats are possible on some models. We are both tall so the lift gate was not an interest.
GM Invests to Boost Equinox, Terrain Production (AutoObserver)
except for gas mileage ave. 22.5 around town got 31 on a 100 mile trip
Got it with heated cloth seats and trailer package.
Don't understand why you can't get a hitch on the 4cyl Equinox?
If you want to dress it up a little more you can order chrome mirrors as an aftermarket option Pain to put on though have to take apart your mirrors without breaking the glass
Memory seats are also standard on SLT-2 models.
Talked to a dealer today about an SLT-2, FWD, V6. Dealer said the vehicle was in stock (as shown on their website), but was a customer special order and unavailable. Indicated that Terrains are selling briskly, and the only sure way to get one they way you want is to special order. No thanks...I learned a long time ago to buy from dealer stock. Special ordering is a risky proposition.
Let us know how your rattle repair goes!
Also, when you start the vehicle the speedo and tach dial swing all the way to the max and back. That's normal too. They're "recalibrating".
I'll post my mileage on my next tank of gas. Trying eco mode this tank. Hope it beats the 23.5 we got on the first tank (4 cyl SE 1).
Hope this helps.

The dealer said that the cruise control and alloy wheels were not included because of changes made on the assembly line and were only available as part of specific option groups. There was no adjustment in price for the "missing" options. They also were unwilling to address the scratches and warped cladding.
I rejected the car, and had to fight them for 4 weeks for a refund of my deposit. They finally refunded the $500 deposit after getting the owner of the dealership involved.
Another thing to consider is that vehicles can vary in build quality. You can test drive 3 of the same model vehicle and experience differences in wind noise, squeaks, rattles, etc. You could order a car, wait 6 weeks, have it arrive and then test drive it only to find out it has a bad squeak/rattle or objectionable noise. In the meantime, you could have found a comparable vehicle on another dealer's lot during the 6 weeks you waited.
One would assume that custom ordering a new vehicle results in a pristine unit when it arrives, but that is not the case. At least when you buy from stock, you get the chance to pick and choose from what is available. If there is something you don't like about one unit, you can drive another to compare to see if it is a common trait or just a problem with that specific unit.
I have been trying to find this part on line before I go back to dealer parts department. Does anyone have the factory installed cargo management system in their 2010 Terrain? If so, is it worthwhile? We were also looking a Chevy Equinox and price for cargo management was around $250.00
Less than 200 miles but we enjoy the ride.

The Vibe was a nice car too bad it's history.
