If I had less than 36K before the date of the TSB and Toyota will not honor the warranty, you can bet that my next vehicle would not be a Toyota. I had 8 Toyotas and one Lexus in a row. I have helped friends buy aT LEAST 20 Toyotas also. Go figure..
Thanks.
I would still like to have the TSB done regardless if the problem ever appears from now to the end of the 3yr./36,000 mi warranty. I currently have about 6500 miles on my 02 SEQ LTD.
It appears to me those on this message board are getting the TSB work done with no resistence from the dealer. Please let me know if anyone of you had work done at a Toyota dealer in the Sacramento, CA area.
Any additional advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Does anyone have experience of towing a travel trailor with this car? Should I really have to watch out for the weight of the trailor and stay within the limit?
What was the best price you could get it for? $800 over invoice? $1000 or more?
Any advice would help. Thanks.
If the bumpers you are talking is the one I saw for an MSRP of $595 or something like that, don't get it. It is nothing more than a cheap plastic fake grill guard. It is really cheesy.
As to value... judgment call. I'm not sure on the price but I seem to remember something in the neighborhood of $700 to $800 installed. I could be wrong.
PS we paid $900 over cost
I did my homework on this site and knew what options I wanted, that helped. I even knew the codes and she was impressed. I don't know if all dealerships do this but I would shop around for someone who does. Also, Carson Toyota in California has a lot of Sequoias on their website. Not all are "Loaded". I looked at theirs to see what options came on a Sequoia that wasn't loaded. If you live near there you may want to try that dealership. I think they even sell cars out of state. I'm in Ohio so it was way too far for me.
One last question is does the side canopy airbag reduces insurance premium or is it really critical in side impact accident?
Sorry for one more question: Any tips on aftermarket dvd system or bun toaster?
Thanks in advance.

One thing I will say is that you DO NOT want to just keep pushing the 4wd button on and off to try to speed up the process. Often this just makes the system take MUCH longer to engage.
Hope this helps.
Ken
Alternately, you can do as I have always preached and leave it in 4WD all the time anyway.
for seq. limited owners- where are the 10 spks. located on your SUV ??????
thanks yall. enjoyed browsing on the discussions
Ken
All 10 speakers are indeed there, within those 6 enclosures.

Good luck!
I traded it for an '03 SR5, Phantom Gray/Silver, JBL 6 Disc, Rack, DRL, Fogs, Roof, Roof Deflector, Dual AC, Captain's charis, Curtain Airbags, Keyless, 7to4 Pin Hitch converter(??), Allow Wheel Package #2 (17 inchers) and Convenience Package. Invoice on this unit was $34,900 and change. I paid $35,400 and change. The dealer is adding leather for me.
While my deal on the new one is fair to good I was floored at the trade in/re-sale of my '01.
Why did I trade? Lower interest rates allowed me to trade up to a two year newer model with alot more equipment and lower my note substantially.
Just can't beat these things.
BTW....the 2001 was flawless except for needing brakes at 19,000 miles.
I am replacing my venerable old 4Runner, which does not have the power to climb the Colorado hills. Can the Sequoia make the I70 climb without running out of breath? Thanks.
Ken
The only downside is I have to go out of town next weekend so my new ride will be at sitting waiting for me.
Can't wait.
