Loud noise from Toyota engine

When I start my car the belt that spins around in the engine (drive belt?) makes a loud whirring noise until the car warms up then is essentially quiet. (lasts maybe 3-5 miniutes) Car has 216k on the clock but timing belt and drive belt were replaced at 170k so anyone have any ideas what this could be and is it serious?

If you mean the accessory belt, that could be due to a worn pulley bearing. As to which pulley (idler, alternator, power steering, etc) , that would require something like a mechanic's stethoscope to locate.

turns out there was no power steering fluid-faced with a 2,200 repair bill the reliable 2000 XLE is no more-stuff just wears out as cars age
