Hyundai Tucson start problems

I'm posting about my mom's car. She says it's been running weird and my brother in law who is a mechanic just checked it out this past weekend and didn't find anything wrong with it. She went to start it yesterday and it just sort of revved up but wouldn't start. The battery is new so that shouldn't be the problem. Any ideas about what would be wrong with it?

    Could be a list of things as long as your arm. At the time of the no start, tests have to be made for spark, for fuel, and for injector pulse. Otherwise, everyone is just guessing. Your BIL has to be around WHEN the car isn't starting, then he can pinpoint the issue.
