    I believe the hood is aluminum. Maybe a little thinner than it should be.

    Yes, quite. Though it becomes far less so when you have to hit a delicate balance of weight and strength.

    I'd say the balance should be on the non-flutter side. And if it was such a delicate balance, why don't more hoods flutter? First time I've ever heard of such a thing. You've encountered or even heard of a fluttering hood before? I've owned perhaps 25 vehicles through the years with nary a flutter.

    The Mazda CX-5 also has a bit of this. Your brain blocks it out after a little while.

    Uncontrolled (or unaccounted for) vibration will eventually lead to stress failure. Any evidence of fatigue in the hood mounts?

    Does it have adjustable rubber nubs at the front when the hood is open? Maybe one is too low?
