I am looking to lease (15K 36/39 months 0 down) an 2004 Escalade EXT/ with the Select Addition option, MSRP is $56,580, TMV $53,243 Invoice $51,626. Dealer says residual is 50%. Please calculate a sample lease payment based on invoice. I am located in NJ. I would also like to hear from others who have leased the same vehicle and what deals they have gotten. I hear that these are moving slower now, and price should be right at invoice. Thanks
CarMan, I passed on the CTS but am now interested in the SRX, probably a lease. 24, 36 or 48 months with 12k miles/year. Have the incentives disappeared for July?
Car Man, do you know what kind of deals are availbale in NY on the 24 month lease for the Odyssey. I think the invoice price is about $25,500. Looking for 2 years with 12K per year. Want to do it as no money down (except first month and title fees). Would like taxes rolled into the monthly payment. Any thoughts? Thank you.
I have been pricing a 2004 Trailblazer Ext LT with a 1D package, and a factory DVD/TV. The dealer offered me 2 GM Smartbuy options, both at 2.9% interest: 1) 48 month term, $329 month, $18,690 final/balloon payment (51% residual) or 2) 39 month term, $340 month, $20,008 final/balloon payment (57% residual). Aside for approx $100 for license/registration, no money down. Sign and drive. No fee at the end of the term. They both sound like good deals to me, but not knowing much about the GM Smartbuy program, I would be interested in any comments on these offers, and if one offer is better than the other. Thanks.
RX-8 (GT/Nav/Appearance/CD Changer/Rotary Accent) MSRP = $34,809 Selling Price = $31,200 Residual = 54% Money Factor = .00225 36 months (12K per year) State = NJ payment = $480 even
Also, dealer is offering to pay my last 2 lease payments ($464.05 x 2 = $928.10)... will this lead to any problems with my current car company (Acura) for ending lease early (i.e. early terminiation fees or something else I'm not thinking about?
Can i negotiate the money factor rate? i want to lease a 2004 4x4 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition. they were offering a special .00133 money factor rate on a highlander but no incentives or special money factor rate on 4Runners.
You've helped me numerous times in the past in leasing cars. This time, because my family anticipates we will be putting on in excess of 20,000/year, we have decided to purchase a car. We are down to the Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4. I had a couple questions I was hoping you could answer.
1. What are Honda and Toyota's in-house APR rates for these cars, for 3/4/5/6 years?
2. If I were to lease through the manufacturer finance companies, what would the 3 year and 20,000mi/yr residual values be? (This is so I can see which car would have a better resale value.)
I live in Jamestown, NC (27282) near Greensboro, NC. I'm planning on leasing a car by the end of July and I was hoping you could give me the residual and money factor for a 36 month lease with 15,000 mi/yr on two cars: 2004 Accord and 2005 Altima.
2004 Accord Coupe EX w/ manual 2005 Altima 3.5 SE w/ sunroof, manual possibly leather
is the following a good lease deal for a 2004 honda accord LX? this is the national lease program advertised on tv.
$199.00 per month for 36 months $1,499.00 capitalized cost reduction $1,898.00 total due at lease signing (includes first month’s payment, security deposit, and capitalized cost reduction; total net capitalized cost and base monthly payment does not include tax, license, registration, options and the like) residual is approximately $11,500.
Hi everyone. I have been out of the loop for a few days attending to some personal business. It would be next to impossible for me to go back and answer the myriad of questions that have been posted in this discussion over the past several days. As a result, I would appreciate it if those of you who still have questions that you need answered would post them again. Thanks for the help and talk to you soon.
Can you give me the July numbers for money factor and residual for a 2005 Legacy GT with a MSRP of $28,759 and a selling price of $27,300 and a sample payment for a 36month/45K lease.
Car_Man, I am looking to lease (15K 36/39 months 0 down) an 2004 Escalade EXT/ with the Select Addition option, MSRP is $56,580, TMV $53,243 Invoice $51,626. Dealer says residual is 50%. I hear that these are moving slower now, and price should be right at invoice. What other bargaining ideas can I use? If they sell at invoice, isnt there a holdback? Internet pricing has not worked for me. They all want me to call and havent priced anything. Is this due to the vehicle being in short supply, or has the attitude changed about the internet. I am having a hard time getting another dealer to compete. Are GM lease factors standard, about 3.6%?
I read on a magazine that there are special rates for a one payment lease, how much deduction on the rate do you get? lets say for example a mercedes, toyota, or a bmw, thanks for your help
$0 down MSRP $34,490 Selling price $27,028 36 months 45K total miles
and
3.0 automatic without navigation $39,765 MSRP $32,275 selling price
other terms the same
These cap costs are assuming the $5000-5500 incentives that are available on purchases now. Are they also available on the leases? Also, what are the typical security deposits and acquisition fees required to be put up front on Jaguar leases?
Orginal post: Local Sunday paper has ad for Saab 24/24 sales event with a lease on a 9-3 Linear for $225/mo w/ $999 total down (down pymt and 1st pymt), 24k total miles. Says its for eligible participants in gm employee program, any idea if that includes supplier program? At 225/mo I'm tempted, but I only qualify for supplier program. Any one have luck w/ saab leases?
Update to post: Just spoke to sales rep about difference between employee and supplier pricing on this lease deal. Besides the delta in price between employee and supplier, employee also gets extra $1k in lease cash and 2% more in residual. He's running numbers now, but my assumption is that these differences will add around another $100/mo to advertised price for me as a supplier. thanks
You provide a great service. This was the only place I was able to get specific information regarding residuals/money factors on X3 leases. Is there a reason Edmund's doesn't list this information in the "Incentives and Rebates" section of its web site? They seem to be very thorough with respect to reporting marketing support (discounts from MSRP) and financing incentives (low interest rates), but don't seem to cover subvented leases.
I ordered an X3 2.5M in June, which should be arriving soon. This is the deal I accepted, with an understanding that I would be offered any new incentives that came along before delivery:
My question is, are there currently lower money factor leases being offered by BMW on this vehicle? I saw a couple of posts on BMW enthusiast boards referring to a .00090 money factor. This would save me more than $50 a month, so I would be VERY interested in knowing. Also, in your experience, is it likely that BMW will offer an even more attractive money factor in August, assuming that there is still a substantial stock of 2004 X3s on dealer lots?
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience on this board. It is much appreciated.
Hi Carman, Ive been offered the following lease ,pls tell me if THEYRE worth.I have no credit history though!I put in LE 2005 in my previous msg,its a LE 2004 though!
1.Toyota Camrey LE-2004 Louisville Ky $292 X 60 MONTHS I put down $1500
2.corolla LE 2004 $252 x 48 months i put down 1500,
I'm looking for your thoughts on the following deal that I'm being offered thru BMWFS:
2004 BMW Z4 2.5 Premium Package Auto Trans Metallic Paint MSRP = $39,345
36 mo. lease @ 10k per year.
The up front $ is approx. $2700. and includes an $800 "Acquisition Fee", first month's payment, all NYS taxes + DMV fees.
The monthly payment being quoted is $397. based on an approx. selling price of $33,724. If the Acquisition fee is really a cap cost reduction than the actual selling price would be $32,924.
I HAVE A 1998 FORD TAURUS SE SEDAN AND I AM IN A UPSIDE DOWN SITUATION. I DID NOT LEASE THIS CAR SO IT IS STILL UNPAID. I OWE APPROXIMATELY 3000. THE CAR IS WORTH ABOUT 2600. I WAS JUST WONDERING ABOUT LEASING A CAR BUT I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT LEASING. MAYBE SOMEONE COULD TELL ME SOMETHING ABOUT LEASING.
Hi jcompe. This car's exact monthly payment will vary depending upon what exact model you lease, how long you lease it for, and how many miles per year you need to be able to drive it. If you provide me with this informaiton, along with the car's full MSRP and selling price, I would be more than happy to calculate a sample lease payment on the vehicle that you are interested in for you. For now, I can give you an idea of what sort of lease money factor you should expect. If you were to lease a 2004 Honda Accord DX or EX through American Honda Finance Corp. in any state but New York this month for up to 3 years, its base lease money factor would be .00143. The base factor for an otherwise identical lease of an '04 Accord LX should be .00061.
Greetings copper. You are absolutely correct. If an Audi dealer were to sell you a car that has $2,000 dealer cash and a $1,000 loyalty cash incentive available on it at invoice, it would indeed be grossing over $3,000 on your deal. If there is this much cash support on a model, you should be able to easily purchase it for less than invoice.
Yes, jabber, I have finally had an opportunity to take a look at Audi's July lease program. Audi's program has even more regions this month than it did last month, adding to its continually increasing complexity. Here is the information that you are looking for. If you were to lease a 2004 Audi A6 2.7T S-Line through Audi Financial Services in New Jersey this month for 36 months with 15,000 miles per, its base lease money factor and residual value should be .00010 and 47%, respectively. The numbers an for otherwise identical 39 month lease of this car should be .00010 and 43%. I have not seen its 42 month program, so I can't help you out there. AFS' base lease acquisition fee is $575 in every state but New York and I believe that its disposition fee is $350. In addition to this lease support, in your area Audi is providing $2,000 dealer cash on AFS leases of the '04 A6 S-Line.
As usual, Acura is not currently providing any sort of lease support on the 2004 TL. So if you were to lease one through American Honda Finance Corp. this month, you will have to use its standard lease money factor, which is .00250 for 36 and 39 month terms. The corresponding residual values for an '04 TL without navigation are 55% for 36 months and 50% for 39 months, both with 15,000 miles per year. The residuals for an '04 TL with navigation are 53% and 49%. AHFC's base lease acquisition fee is $595.
Hey Gary W. To the best of my knowledge, Lexus has not announced either publicly or privately to its dealers what its August lease program will be like. Lexus does run special lease promotions on the majority of its models during certain months. However, I do not believe that it provided any sort of lease support on the 2003 RX 300 last August, so there definitely is no guarantee that it will offer any sort of lease support on the 2004 version, the RX 330, this year. It is difficult to predict what manufacturers will do with their future incentives programs, and the dealer who you spoke with certainly may have some sort of inside information, but I personally was not expecting Lexus to begin offering a special lease on this "truck" next month.
As far as making your payment for the month of August if you plan to terminate your lease early goes, I am not exactly sure how this works. One would think that if you did not keep your vehicle for the entire month of August and you ended your lease early through some sort of official early termination program that Lexus Financial Services would refund a portion of that payment. You really need to speak with your dealer, or someone at LFS to find out for certain though.
Hello kfsaer. Honda is still running a special 2 year lease on the '04 Odyssey this month. The monthly lease payment that you were quoted sounds a little high to me as well, but your exact payment depends upon the selling price of the van that you want. I would be more than happy to work up a sample lease payment on the exact model that you are interested in for you if you provide me with its full MSRP and selling price.
Here is the information that you are looking for, berea1. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2004 Honda Odyssey EX-RES with an MSRP of $28,230 and a selling price of $25,440 through American Honda Finance Corp. this month for 2 years with 15,000 miles per, your zero down, pre-tax monthly lease payment should be right around $312. The payment for an otherwise identical lease with only 12,000 miles per year should be right around $300.
When negotiating your lease on this van, keep in mind that Honda is providing $500 dealer cash on it. This cash will enable you to negotiate a more attractive selling price than you would have been able to if it wasn't there.
I am trying to lower my payments on my vehicle. Right now I own a 2004 Acura TSX (17k miles) that I still owe the bank $26500 on. My options are to sell the car or trade it in. I was told that if I trade it in, it would be better to lease w/option to buy than to finance. I never really considered leasing because I put 140mi each day to work on my car. Is leasing in this situation better than just financing a new car with my trade in? Thanks!
Carman, after some shopping around, I was quoted a lease price of $360 per month (inclusive of taxes) for an Odyssey EX with DVD entertainment system for 24 months with 12k miles per year. I believe the "invoice" price of the car is about $25,000. MSRP probably around $28,000. Does this sound like a fair deal? I think I am going to pull the trigger on this this weekend. I know better deals can be had outside of NYC but this is the best I found in my area.
Thanks Car_Man, and welcome back. Hope you had a restful few days, cause it looks like a lot of folk are waitin on your return.
Sorry if I wasn't clear on the August Promo through Lexus. I didn't mean to imply that the special would be on the RX 330, I was told and am under the impression that it's all the Lexus Vehicles. Something called August "Something or another" where they offer lower MF on the leases and lower financing rates?
Car_man just a reminder about the 2004 2.7t allroad lease program for july. i'm in colorado and have received calls from 2 dealers with whom negotiations had stalled, giving me better terms for July. they have said that the interest rate has stayed the same (money factor .00041) and that the residual has gone up 1%, which means that lease rates are in fact better.
please let me know what current Audi to dealer cash incentives are on this model, what the lowest money factor is and what the residual should be on a 36 month/15k lease. thanks
Saw your post back to me on one of the other boards re: the Affiliates program. As I am going to the dealer tomorrow to look at/discuss lease figures on the Pacifica, is it possible for you to give me current 36 and 39 month, 12k miles/yr. money factor and residual on the 2004 Pacifica and 2005 Pacifica Touring???
Thanks much for your time and help - much appreciated!
Here's my situation - I'm currently in a '02 Mustang GT, recently moved, needs have changed, want an STI. Payoff on the Mustang is around $14,700 (I'm right-side up by $1,500 or so) Dealer is willing to take the trade even money. I think that I could get lucky and sell the Mustang (private party)and make the $1,500 and apply it to a down payment on the STI.
MSRP on the STI = 34,232. Dealer wants 1,583 down (covers title, reg, first month, security deposit), 60 month lease, $515 per month inc tax, residual $12,341. Do you think this is a good deal? What would your recommendation be - hang on to the Mustang or take the lease? What would you do?
Car_Man, I am looking to lease a Volvo S60 AWD sedan. Volvo has an offer out that shows $269/month payments with $3659 due at inception. You just advised against paying $ at signing. But isn't this the only way to keep my payments low?

You provide a great service. This was the only place I was able to get specific information regarding residuals/money factors on X3 leases. MSRP: 39830

Residual: 24694.60 (62%; 10000 miles per year)
Depreciation: 13390.40

As usual, Acura is not currently providing any sort of lease support on the 2004 TL. So if you were to lease one through American Honda Finance Corp. this month, you will have to use its standard lease money factor, which is .00250 for 36 and 39 month terms. The corresponding residual values for an '04 TL without navigation are 55% for 36 months and 50% for 39 months, both with 15,000 miles per year. The residuals for an '04 TL with navigation are 53% and 49%. AHFC's base lease acquisition fee is $595.

i'm in colorado and have received calls from 2 dealers with whom negotiations had stalled, giving me better terms for July. they have said that the interest rate has stayed the same (money factor .00041) and that the residual has gone up 1%, which means that lease rates are in fact better.
please let me know what current Audi to dealer cash incentives are on this model, what the lowest money factor is and what the residual should be on a 36 month/15k lease.
Damon
If there are manufacturer to dealer incentives on a car, can it be used as a bargaining tool on a lease or just a purchase??
Thanks...
Just my personal opinion.
