What year Subaru WRX STI should I get?

I'm looking at getting a 2006 or 2007 but I'm wondering if a different year would be a better choice? Why or why not? Also any other advice on buying a used Subie? A friend with a 2004 WRX STI told me to definitely not buy if it's over 100k miles. Thanks in advance! :)
