What's With The Format Changes?

Why does each change in format here seem to add another step for the user? Now I've got to go in, open the topic from it's inception and then click on the last page of comments. Used to be able to do this from the gitgo. Change for the sake of change I'm afraid!

    just once though. I'm not sure what the impetus was for the change, but since it all looks "cleaner" I would say it's to use the space on the page more efficiently. I just noticed it myself (I was away for a few days) and it's ok--it's a bit bothersome to have to read the "fine print" to see who posted and when but I'm getting used to it.

    I don't have to go to the last page when I go to a discussion after this update, either with Recent Discussions or My Bookmarks (using IE). Guess I need to check out Chrome or are you two using some other browser?

    Edit - can't reproduce the error with Chrome either. *confused*

    I'm using Explorer 11. Before this latest change, the forum page numbers appeared on each topic, so I could just go right to the last page and see what was recent. Now I've got to go into the topic and then select the last page. An extra step. If I'm logged in though, then it takes me to to where I left off last time like before. Bottom line, the new format adds some time and steps when I just want to do a quick perusal without going through a log in. I guess I'm from the old school of keep it simple.

    Ah, the log-in explains it. I'm always logged in so that wrinkle didn't occur to me. Thanks for the feedback.
