I don't know what you'd do with an 18 year old Chevette. It wasn't fast enough to be a getaway car, and the parts are very old.

    Just imagine it...

3 men sitting in a prison.

    "What are you in for?"
"I robbed a bank. How about you?"
"I killed a man for looking at me funny. How about you new guy?"
    "I stole a Chevette!!!"

I simply lust after the following cars.

    AMC Pacer
    AMC Gremlin
    Chevrolet Vega
    Mercury Bobcat
    Datsun F10

Usually guaranted theft proof on sight. Insurance guys laugh if you want more than liability.
    Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Well, a few years ago some trash in town decided to try to take my Volkwagen Passat (I think it was a 1990 with about 180,000 miles)

Anyhow, my buddy notices it and chases away away the losers, but not until after they did some damage to the car trying to get it going.....

Needless to say, he sent it to the shop to get repaired the next day, and would you believe that it was stolen that night while it was at the shop....... Talk about persistant....

After they stole my RX-7 and ran out of gas (I told that story didnt I?), I sold it (after my buddy showed me how easy it was to open) and got a Turbo 280ZX and put the latest in alarms/security systems. Well, they got around it and where working on getting it open when my Chow woke me up. She pulled and tugged till she got me to the front door, I was half asleep and not coherent so I let her out and went back to bed. Imagine the look on the thieves face when she chased their [non-permissible content removed]'$ into the next county (chows are very territorial), in the morning I saw the 'tools' they had left and the look on my Chows face and figured out what had happen.......I now got 2 more Chows and am sending them to obedience/training classes because they are so discerning (when it comes to trouble) and intelligent...........:0D

In 1991 I had a 1985 Honda Prelude. I thought it was gone forever (actually I hoped as I was looking at new cars and it would eleminate the trade in process) Police said they more than likely stole it for parts, seats mostly. If they didn't call me in 3 days consider it bye bye. Five days past I get a call, all the idiots did is take it for a joy ride and left all the windows down and sunroof open, it rained every day it was gone & the police watched it to see if they would come back for 2 of those days. UGGG. $5000 of insurance $ and 1 month later it was fixed. Car was barely worth that. They had to replace the interior because they ripped the back seat and smeared motor oil all over the place (to get rid of finger prints) Supid theifs they could have easily made over $500 just on the front seats.

I've heard that GM's new onstar acts like a lojack when needed. Is this true? They are making it avalible in lots of their cars.

I believe theft occurs not so much of stealing hte car. I'm sure it happens by the minute. But I heard alot of thieves aim for the airbags, stereos, built in Nintendos, etc.... so watchout for these as well. Oh, nice wheels are hot item too.
Having said that, "Gone in 60 seconds" is coming up in the cinemas soon! Can't wait!
