    With all the multitude of cupholders and cubbies these vans have a plastic bottle still found its way in the pedal box...scary.

    It sounds like you were rear ended. so the other driver is at fault? what was the other car?

    Oh wow, that repair bill won't be cheap. I don't know why it always seem like the damage happens within the first months of ownership. Ugh.

    @thepuff, per the article, the loose bottle was in the other car, not the Sedona.

    My brother was rear ended while driving his new car home from the dealership the day he bought it. Had it for like half an hour. Sucks. Wasn't serious thankfully.

    Aw damn it all to hell, it's brand new! If the damage was contained to just the rear bumper cover and trim it wouldn't be the end of the world, but naturally the tailgate is mangled as well.

    @nate001: The Sedona was rear-ended by an older full-size panel van. Looked it was the driver's work vehicle. We were in heavy stop-and-go freeway traffic when it happened, so the impact was at very low speed. - Kelly

    I "bumped" a Toyota Highlander in a Post Office parking lot some months back ... couldn't have been going more than a couple MPH. My car sustained over $3K in damage. You'd be amazed at how complicated the parts are in modern cars. I wouldn't be surprised if it took $5K to make the Sedona right again.

    Before I read who dunnit (and what they were driving) I thought there must have been a bumper height mismatch at work. Aging full-size panel van as culprit makes a lot of sense. Probably an old-school battering ram steel bumper, too. Unlucky.
