Help SF Police to ID hit and run vehicle

Have a look at this (not so good) photo of a car that killed a young man in San Francisco yesterday. Police are on the hunt and looking for clues as to year, make and model. THANKS! Shifty (Host)

Wheels look different, maybe aftermarket alloys instead of the OEM steel ?.
And older model, maybe 2008-9

They look like some kind of offset spokes.
How about it being a Passat?

I could go with the Passat, going by the wheels and greenhouse. Your pic with some contrast added first and then a 2009 Passat snap.

I am sort of imaging the BMW grill. Does not look like VW front end. And the back slope of the rear window is like BMW. The only off thing are the wheels, which could have been aftermarket .
And its definitely a full size sedan

Five spokes but not offset. Wonder if the offset is just the camera?

Here's a 2011 VW CC Lux - note the little logo above the front tire area.

The SFPD is sending me another shot of the car from the driver's side. So stay tuned! They are really hot to catch this car. The young man who was hit died last night. He was apparently a very big guy, so the damage to the car must be significant.

For some reason I am thinking Volvo. Greenhouse looks to big for a cc.

Its the angle of the photo. Looks CC to me. Second guess would be BMW 7 ., but wheels don't match with the BMW

I used to have a CC - the roof lines aren't right for that.

Am thinking 2012 or 2013 Passat SE. From that second picture it's absolutely a VW.

Agree with 28fire. It's a VW. For me, the roofline is more consistent with a Passat than the CC. The car doesn't appear as sleek either as the CC, and the stripe reflection on the side view mirror is consistent with the Passat. Don't see the 7-Series in it.

That second photo is a wash out. You can imagine any mid-size car in the world LOL

I asked the SF Chronicle reporter who ran the story to let me know as soon as something (if anything) breaks on the story.
