2004 PT Cruiser doesn't go into drive or reverse right away.

When it's real cold out my cruiser, unless real warmed up is not taking off right away into reverse or drive when I put into gear it works fine when it's above 30 degrees. What could be the problem.

    Delayed shifts when cold is not that uncommon with older cars. When was the last time you had a transmission service, with fluid change and filter? Was the proper type of fluid used? It should be ATF +4.
