Saturn Vue 04 Transmission

My 04 Vue has 210,000 on it and the transmission is starting to surge while accelerating, it doesn't do it while in cruise control. It also slips out of 1st gear at times, especially when its cold outside. Could that be the shift solenoid or torque convertor? I hate to get rid of her, it still runs like a dream and Ive never even replaced the timing belt or water pump...

    It's hard to diagnose a modern automatic transmission from this distance. You might try to have someone extract any codes from the TCM/PCM that relate to the transmission.

    Also it looks like you've missed your automatic transmission flush (100K) and your timing belt replacement.
