Sounds good in theory since they are all the same generation, but it's hard to know if there are some subtle little changes that might hang you up. Best thing I could suggest, whenever I see these "swap questions", is to search on specialty VW forums around the 'Net and find someone who actually, literally, already did the swap you are contemplating. In other words, an eye-witness, not just someone encouraging you to try it.
