Q5 or Q7 TDI 2015/2016 - Determine what to pay for a new one?

I am new to this forum but wanted to post as it looks like there is a lot of experience and expertise here!
I was looking at the Q5 at local dealers and found they have some number of Q5 TDI’s, that are brand new. The dealer says they were pulled, updated and are now for sale, but they are still at list price (50+).
I was thinking about making an offer, but have been using what I see for sale as a gauge, knowing that the second this car leaves the dealership it’s will loose 35-40% of it’s value given that is it technically is a two year or three year old vehicle.
I would imagine the dealer has incentives and kickbacks to sell these, as they aren’t the new body and interior design and are non current. I like the Diesel idea, I have a 335 Diesel now and like the torque and mileage benefits. I’d also be interested on pros and cons of new interior and new features/technology.
Looking for any suggestions on how to value these or if I should just avoid altogether.

It's going to be hard to get much more than that off, though. Now that you can't get a VW diesel, everyone wants one.. It's really for the diehards. Otherwise, it's going to be tough to make a value case for it.
Never hurts to try, though.
