I have a burned out headlight on my 2004 Maxima. Is there a way to tell if yours is equipped with Xenon or Halogen bulbs without taking the car apart?

    If you can't read anything on the headlight bucket under the hood, you might be able to tell by having someone turn on the lights at night while you observe:

    When you turn the lights on, if they flash quickly, then kind of slowly fade in with a whiteish tint, those are most likely Xenon HID. You'll need a D2S bulb.

    If they just fade in quickly and have a yellowish tint? Halogen. You'll need an H7 bulb.

    This info from other forums, so take it for what it's worth.

    You could also probably go to a NAPA auto parts and have them look at it for you. They should know.
