They install easily, removal not so easy especially when the plastic becomes brittle over time. Try looking at the other end of the rod and see if it can be removed and take the latch out of the car with the rod attached. Then when you have it out in the open you will have a better chance of taking it apart. With plastic parts like this it is usually wise to simply plan on replacing if they bhave to be disturbed at all.

I managed to remove the bar by melting the plastic a little with a soldering iron and then I could easily enter it. Thank you all0
