Tach and Speedo Issues

Just picked up a 2005 Kia Spectra EX Auto, No ABS. At random times, the tach will stop working or be off by 1,000 RPM. At the same time the speedo gauge will start to flutter when in use and sometimes not show a speed at all. The issue goes away then comes back for no rhyme or reason. I have read that it could be a wiring issue or various parts like a gauge cluster or anything else. Can anyone confirm the problem with a fix. Thank you.
