I always think 'there go the floorboards' when I seen an old parked car with open windows. Especially a 1960s Ford!

@gsemike many of those links don't work: They need a ':' between 'https' and '//'. Fun group today, though. Those Electras at the end.... yikes. Yikes.

Those Electras are sad, both priced with an extra "0".

Falcon didn't have any open windows, but parking in grass can't do it any favors. I remember my dad's 60 Ford spent a few years parked in grass, which I suspect (along with the leaky heater core) hastened the decay of the front floors.
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,161
Oh, I couldn't tell the passenger front window was up. Those things rusted just looking at them, so I'd be real curious what kind of shape it's in...

I'd prefer if it was a hard top and a little funny with the wording. 350 crate swapped in 1000 miles ago. Makes me wonder if it is a new engine or pulled out of something else

Coronet looks nice on the surface. Too bad it’s an AT. But if it’s solid, could be easy hop up project.

well, "crate" is used to describe a new replacement engine (shipped in a crate). Question is: WHICH crate engine?

Yeah, I'm sure HP on crate 350s can range from low 200s to probably 500+

Some bargains there - the Suburban, the Ciera and the GTI I would say. I love the '79 Caddy but the price may be optimistic. The Cutlass Supreme is similar to the one I saw locally recently but appears to be in much better condition and seems fairly priced.

The '61 Caddy is barely a parts car, the Z-series (!), bobbed 4Runner and Ranch Wagon give me the willies, and the '77 Mustang is begging for a 302 HO transplant.

300CE was around 45K then, 560SEC around 70K, so a lot more. The SEC was also 8 model years old then, and MB still had no problem selling every one they built. A good time for the brand.

    Long Island Craigs

I like the Torino too. Strange bits beyond the 3x2bbl induction upgrade though. It comes with a Marti report as pointed out before but the cosmetics look wrong. What happened to the Indy pace car graphics? The black exterior striping looks wrong.

Can't be just the color altered by the image either. Pic #10 below clearly shows the black exterior striping in the door opening in contrast with blue interior. I think all the '68 Torino pace car edtions were white trimmed with blue and (smaller) red exterior striping.

The light blue IP on the CL Torino is intriguing compared to other pace car editions I've seen which look like this '68 Torino pace car edition below:

My old '68 Torino GT had an IP like the pace car edtion above. If you look at the CL Torino below the powder blue IP doesn't seem to match any other shade of blue in the car either. Strange.

Non stock looking rear view mirror. And some of the under dash trim looks black where it should be bright. Also the "spear" trim above the glove box looks black in the middle where it should be bright with a red/white/blue graphic on the right side. May be hard to see on the pic below from another '68 Torino pace car edition spotted on ebay.

$39,500.00 OBO is the asking and I'd want the details straight for that kind of money.

Wow, that '85 Town Car in Islip looks immaculate. Someone needs to snap that up fast. Where's @oldfarmer50 when you need him?

The '72 M-B 280SE 4.5 is lovely too. I don't know about the price but it may be worth close to that. I was concerned when the ad said "updated to automatic belts" but I think he meant inertia reels which are not a dramatic change.

On the Torino "pace car", I had my doubts when reading the original post by @fintail and now @omarman has raised many good questions. I wouldn't be interested in it regardless but now the doubts are strong.

85 Town Car is in really nice shape and that white roof on the burgundy is very uncommon

It’s a shame it’s a base model... certainly not a Cartier or Signature Series (two different trims). An 85 Cartier in that shape I would be all over. That’s a great looking color combo. Shame the 85s are still CFI. They didn’t go multiport injection until 86.

    Too bad about that Cougar.

Here's an old sale for 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible VIN 9F94H539412 archived on usedcarsfsbo.com dated 8/25/2011 with sold price $1,800.

Youtube also has 3 short videos of the old cat dated about 3 days prior to the sale above. When I looked at the first video I could pick out some of the battle scars from 2011 which still show up in the current CL ad pics. Just bigger, uglier and dirtier.
