2021 X5 45e Lease

Hi,

I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate if anyone has insight into them:

1) Is there any information yet on MF and Residual for the new X5 45e? Looking at 36/12, zip 10707 NY.

2) Also are there any lease credits like lease cash/conquest?

3) would the federal and state (500 in NY) tax credits for plug in vehicles apply to a lease? Like dealer gets this and passes on to customer as lease credit for example.

No numbers for the 2021 X5, yet.

In the past, NYS credits are applied by the dealer at lease inception, regardless of lease or purchase. No info on if that is still the case.

No guesses.. New program starts on Tuesday. Maybe, then.

On most PHEV models, BMW does not pass along the tax credit. If you look at a 530i vs a 530e, you'll see nearly the same lease program, with nearly the same rebates.

On fully electric models like the I3, BMW has a $7500 lease credit.

If you look at other manufacturers with big rebates on their EV and PHEV models, you'll also notice very poor residuals.

Interested in purchasing a 2021 X5 xDrive 45e. I'm a current BMW owner in PA 15317. Do you know if there are there any cash incentives available at this time on this new model?

That would not make much sense in my mind, but if they think there's enough demand that they can get away with that tomfoolery, they'll try it for a while to make more money. When they get over that nonsense maybe they'll get my business. Hopefully they'll release a program for them for August and we'll know what the official line is.

When you lease a car that qualifies for the federal tax credit - EV, PHEV, whatever - the lessee does not get the tax credit; the bank that funds the lease does.

Sometimes, that credit is passed along to the customer in the form of an incentive (like Audi does with the e-Tron, or BMW with the i3). Sometimes, it's reflected in a higher residual value. But, it's solely at the manufacturers discretion.

As noted, you have the option of voting with your wallet.
