What year is that Caddie? It looks similar in style to my son’s 93’ Deville but I know the Fleetwoods and Devilles looked alike and the styles didn’t change much between the late 70s and early 90s.

My car is a 1989 model; last year before they went to composite headlights.

Beautiful. Did they still put the 350 V8 in those?

Looks like somebody in the neighborhood has just brought home a 1973 Buick Riviera project car. Looks like it was lying in the woods for a long time! I have no idea how long as there were no expired plates or inspection stickers. Don’t know if they actually expect to restore it, use it as a parts car, or it’s simply going to be scrapped. It will be a massive undertaking to bring this one back!
I imagine getting parts for that will be a big hurdle. Not like a Chevelle where you can buy every part needed to make one from OPG or one of the other repro companies.
maybe a labor of love. Like the rich dudes that spend $120k on a restored one at BJ (or whatever car from their youth they wanted) who have money, just for guys on a budget! Key is going to be if you can do the bulk of the labor yourself.
though on that particular car, I would be shocked if the chassis was not a rusty nightmare, and nobody is saving that!
Riv looks like a trim parts donor or scrap. You can still find decent survivors just needing cosmetics out here in the west (aka the car isn't rotten) for not huge money)

The '81 Eldo is a pretty car in good colors. None of the problems sound too tough. Brake job, deactivate the cylinder deactivation (deactivate the deactivator? Hmmm), fix the exhaust, and no doubt deal with some old GM electrical gremlins. It would make a very nice collector car.
I agree on the Caddy. All the has stuff…. interior and body look good.
I didn’t post this but I got really tempted for a 78 Mark V Cartier the other day. Driver quality and no rust for 3K. All looked good until I saw the rear quarter had a pretty large dent and the bumper and chrome trim were banged up. By the time you sorted that it would have been cheaper to buy a better one

If that Eldo was say an 80-81 Seville Elegante in a similar color combo and condition, I would be tempted to look at it - I need it like I need a hole in my head, but that would be a cool radwood/malaise era car. Eldo still seems fair, just a hard sell here especially in winter.
I know there is some love for the Toro with that roof but man that really is not an attractive car. Styling for the sake of styling.
I have never liked the '71-'78 Eldo or Toro, in particular the later-year versions. Massive, heavy vehicles that seemed to have lost their way especially from '74-up. In '73 some Toros were either built with or had added by the aftermarket, an opera window:

Yes, that shot is from one of the episodes in S1, "Charlie Harris At Large". Only place I've ever seen a Toro with that porthole window.

It's cool but Toyota Tax + Idaho Tax hurts
Looks pretty decent for what it is
XS-ive, in style and price
No grille, low effort photos
The name is right on the car
Rare but limited upside
Better than some that have higher prices
Preservation piece
Parts available anywhere no doubt
Heavy duty
Looks like there is an unmentioned light front end incident
Endless project
Lots of style but you can't get there from here
Master of the Road
that camper version is quite the period piece, but it must be dangerously slow. Need to V8 swap that baby.

That 84’ Toyota motor home would be perfect for setting up housekeeping on the street in Seattle.
That 91’ UAZ could probably be sold back to the Russians at a profit. I hear they need equipment.
I tried to buy a diesel Rabbit in 1980 but the salesman was so rude we walked. Dodged a bullet from what I gather.
