exactly what you wanted, then why worry about a few hundred bucks over the life of a car?? Just enjoy it.
particularly using such a subjective measuring stick.
You got the exact car that you were looking for,
"for over a month", and you got it when you needed
it, "NOW"....
Just a reminder...My friends here at edmunds.com
Do Not Sell Automobiles...What is found here is
a *Guide*...it is information that is not presented on Two Tablets...
Enjoy your car, and if you have any questions about it; ask away...:)
I went to Baton Rouge to the VW dealer up there. I told them what kinda car I wanted and that I wasn't gonna play games. They located the car I wanted in Dallas. EXACT colors and options!! I got it for $600 above invoice. I did however have to pay $300 for shipping (they flat bedded it to Baton Rouge). I still save a lot more money. That $500 fee that walker charges made me walk. However, I think they are trying to pay for their new facilites. They just built the new VW showroom and now they are building a new Acura show room!! Anyway, Congrats on your new car and good luck!
Any info about when the 2003,s will be available?
Thank u in advance

And we may be able to pick up the car Wed June 26th Their price was VERY competitive and I can not recommend them more highly

Passat wagon GLS 1.8T
options:
Leather Package
Auto Trans
Monsoon stereo
Looks like the luxury package option is now standard , and is rolled into the base MSRP, which went from 22,550 to 23,685. The option MSRPs have remained the same so I'm assuming the invoice is the same. Problem is I don't know the base invoice before options. It was 20,513 but I don't know how much it went up now that the lux package is standard. I'd hate to go into the dealer without knowing the exact base invoice.
Thanks!
Port Prep=$25.00
FPIR=$92.00
Dest.=$575.00
Leather=$1325.00
Monsoon=$287.00

2003 Invoice:
GLS Wagon 5 Speed - 21538 + 575 destination
Leather - 1325

Note that the GLS models this year include the luxury package (Sunroof, etc.) as standard.
I paid $492 over invoice, with no "Processing Fees" - $24,177 for an Indigo Blue 2003 GLS 5 Speed Wagon, with Leather & ESP. It's supposed to arrive September 20 (3 months after ordering).
I believe we made a wise choice Its nice to find knowledgible honest people in any line of work and I hope I had something to do with your good choice I discovered him on line from some one elses recommendation The only option we did not get was the 6 cd changer and again were fortunate to find one on line for approx $300 with an extra cartridge!! FloorPlan INTEREST Reserve is money TAKEN from
the Dealer. It is similar to an automatic payroll
deduction to pay a bill.
You will note the operative word here is INTEREST,
and wherever we find that word; Principal is not
far away..."a capital sum paid at interest."
This $92.00 per car pays down a small amount of the Total Interest that is owed against the Principal/Flooring charges required to maintain
a full & complete inventory...
It is a legitimate part of the Invoice...as is
Port Prep/$25.00...
The local dealer is small, and said they would do $500 over invoice on an in stock car, but don't know when the car I want is coming in. I am going to lease, so I want to grab the good residual as early in the model year as possible.
Thanks for the advice.
They told me that they really don't have anything to give to get the car (e.g. they don't have any '03 Passats yet and don't know how soon they will get one.) I certainly think the local dealer's price is quite fair, but I just received the same offer from one of the other dealers, so I might have to take it.
Thanks for the advice.
I am looking for a Passat GLX 4Motion, I have three colors I am interested so I am hoping they have at least one.
My big concern is which year should I purchase? I feel like if I buy a 2002, I may get a better deal, but then I like to be on the cutting edge, so having a 2003 sounds kewl too.
So here goes, everyone wish me luck. I will write back my experience when I get back.

w/ Monsoon stereo
w/ stability control
(and w/ luxury features, now standard according to this message board)
Please contact me if you have invoice pricing information. Thanks very much.
Quick question about the "Get it or regret it event." I can see from edmunds that there is special financing on remaining 2002's but if you don't opt for the special financing can the dealer get some kind of cash back?
According to Tulley VW in Nashua, NH this "event" ends 7/31.
Thanks!
Something tells me I should go with the 2002, but I feel a bit left behind not buying the 2003. I guess they are the same car.
The sales guy was awesome though. We got right down to business and he gave me a fair price right up front. It took all of 15 minutes.
Now the big dilemma, do I buy the 2002 or the 2003?
Are there any thoughts out there?
Jeff
Well, I went to my local dealer. Asked a number of sales people, sales manager, and even a few customers. NO ONE KNEW WHAT IT WAS...... Not even VW.
Just goes to show ya.
Jeff
How is $23,100 for a 2003 auto with monsoon stereo?
