2,900 klicks ...? Wow, nooo miles here, lotsa help. Auto, more help here ... I wish it was a 6, but the 4's sell well .. you should be in the low $13's on a trade.
Terry.
Maybe I deal with lowballers
I got hit at $90K and $92K on the car... But those were my NYC area guys.
Irrespective, when the Red Labels come down, Ima get one I think.
Bill
I hit the '99 Bentley @ $90 altho ask was $120. [Its simply not worth more than that to me].
Still awaiting the response - the guy (2nd owner) has 2 others (red label and azure) and says his wife just does not get round to driving the '99 very much anymore! Your advice on the '99s is well taken, btw.
The 4D s55 is really not my cup of tea but i might be able to hit it at $95K (MSRP was ~ $107). I jones'd on the '02 CL500 with all options (and 20" brabus/brembos) except keyless go which was offered to me at $93 (from a dealer, no less) and while waffling it got sold at $99. Agh!
Anyway, looking fwd, whats an '03 X5 4.6iS w/ all options and running boards worth (october delivery)? [sapphire black with black/red lthr/suede interior]
Bill/Terry, any takers on the right coast for an '02 CL500 sport (blk/blk) no-miler and an '03 SL500 Launch Ed. w/ 1200 miles? Not mine - belong to people i know....
TIA.
Thanks Again,
JimmyJ
Thanks,
Pete
I will be trading in my 2000 Maxima SE. It is gray, 60,950 miles, excellent interior and exterior, non-smoker, tires in good shape. Kept up maintenance, no mechanical problems. Mostly highway miles. Optional equipment: power moonroof, power driver's seat, and traction control (TCS).
Western Chicago burbs.
What price can I expect from a dealer?
Thanks for your time.
Evan
By the way, I LOVE this car. It's a lot of fun to drive. I need to get a car/van with more luggage capacity due to a new baby in the family.
Terry.
Personally, I like the Vics and G. Marquis's, they are Town Cars without all the popcorn or price. I would have to think with you in Mass, a rear wheel vehicle might not help through the winters .. but, I don't live there.
Perhaps a Impala might do a better job .. and I feel they are a great buy, a lot of BANG for the buck ... the 01 loaded up ultra clean LS's, with 7/9/11k are doing in and around $16 at the block, so I would have to think you could snatch one for around $17,5 or maybe less, depending on the dealer ...
Good luck .. and let us know.
Terry.
Leather ...? Bose ...?
Terry.
no Bose, no leather.
Evan
What's an Alvis ..? You must not get out much ...
It's that very famous singer, Ya know, Blue suede shoes, You ain't nothing but a houndog .. Gheeez, even I know that ... thank ya, thank ya .. thank ya very much. I think he might be dead now -- but, I heard he might be working at Disney World under a disguise ..
Terry :-)
Where do you live? Is the car a stick or automatic? I don't think most dealers want an '88 anything, though Hondas do sell well. Here in Chicago, that sounds like a car you could stick in the paper for like $1500, take $1200 or so. On a trade, a dealer's likely to offer you $500 or so.
Just for reference, a friend is in the process of trading (for a Matrix) a '90 Celica GT automatic, non-hatch, power roof, a/c inop, 180k miles, in good shape but needs maintenance (pads & rotors, tires), they're giving him $700.
We have hot air blowing all over the place .. cruise is not cruising, rust is raising it's ugly head and the paint is going south ..
so where is the good news ...?
Next thing you will be tellin' me is, it has a handshaker --- So now what ..?
Well, without "eye balling" this gem .. I gotta think "around" .. $3,5/$4.
Whoooof, test vehicle for the Muja Haddean ...?
Terry.
We will have to wait, till it comes out on video.. l..o..l...
Terry.
Auto .. right ..?
Whoooo, around $13 .. maybe.

1999 Corolla LE, 5-speed, cruise control, dark green, 49K miles... interior is clean, only parking lot scratches on the exterior...and it's in Wilmington NC.
You guys hit me around $7K talking about trade, and I hope it was the high side of 7K.
But what if I slap a set of tires on it (it's getting to be time) and sell it myself? How much should I try for/expect to get in that case?
Thanx in advance.
Thanks for your help in advance
Terry.
Selling a real nice, clean, low mileage vehicle is pretty easy for most (if it's priced right). On the other side of that coin -- fixing one up, spending the time, effort and money just doesn't appeal to alot of folks and I understand that.
It's kinda hard to guess what this vehicle looks like, but if the dealer is at $3, then I got to be darn close. Kinda keep in mind, its a domestic Dealer and they probably don't want to spend the time or effort either ... So, if you guys are that close, I would cut it from the herd .. depending on the state, you get a tax benefit on the trade, so say bye bye to it ... and I would be out driving my new ride.
Terry.
It's a 94, it sounds limited to the parking lot kisses and the french fry invasions ...
It's a XLE, slider and a V6, which is a "hard to find" and the miles aren't too bad for the year. It sounds like you have done something most people don't do .. take care of it. l..o..l....
On a trade, you should be in and around $4,5/$5. These are super nice vehicles you are lookin' at .. but, remember you are trading one in.
Good luck ...
Terry.
Just make sure you have a great 4/5 liner Ad in the paper with a good description.
Terry.

OK, People love these cruisers. My partner.. he buys every FJ60 he can get his hands on.. You know, the OLLLD ones. They last like 30 minutes.
If this newfangled one is super ncie, it is worth $19K all day long wholesale. So you should ask $22,000-22,900 and not take less than $21K-21,500.
Bill
The miles arent too low...Hmm..
$12K-12,400 or so is the range on this one I think. Good color for the Sahara, I mean Arizona. Here in the Rainforest, it be a good color too.
You could "get" $13,800-14K or so for it on a Private sale I think.
Wait a year? Car will be worth less, new car cost similar. Difference will be more, but then the 02 you bought today will be worth less..etc.. Do what ya wanna do
Bill
What about an Avalon?
Bill
As far as price, a used 02 Avalon XL will cost about as much as a new and a loaded up new, around $31 .. probably take it home for around $28 .. a loaded up new 02 Impala LS will run around $27ish, buy it for around $24ish and there's a $2000 rebate right now, and that would get you to $22ish .. and if you go on the pre-owned side a used 02 LS should be got for around $20 or less -- then minus your trade on these figures.
But, like I say .. always "buy and drive what YOU like ..."
Good luck .. and let us know ..
Terry.
Maybe you can give me the "real-world" opinion of what these cars are currently going for at trade-in.
I have a 97 Pontiac Sunfire SE 4-door. It has low mileage (47,200). It's an automatic with a CD player, A/C, tilt steering, rear defroster. It's black.
The only problems with it are a slight rattle in the dash area. I also (unfortunately) just had a brand new rack & pinion put in.
Also, I have new tires (9 months old) and new front brake pads.
Edmunds is telling me the trade is worth around $4200. What is your opinion? Thanks!
1.'99 BMW 323I sedan w/ xeon, leather, powered seats, heated seats, metalic paint, computer, & moonroof.
2.'96 Audi Quattro 2.8 AWD w/ all of the options, besides auto transmition & bose sound system
3. '93 Nissan Altima XE w/ all of the options besides the automatic transmition.
Can you please tell me what price I should expect for these at a dealer's auction in the next year?
Thanks,
Need color ..
Need condition ..
Need geographic area ..
Go to your Room ....!
Terry.
Terry.
Thanks!
PS: And thanks for the help you recently gave me on our Quest.
Ok, let's take a look here .. we have a 4dr. SE with 47k, auto, AC, a rattle (they were born that way .. l.o.l.) ..and black. Not knowing were you live, this could be good or bad.
It's low in miles and new sneakers .. if it's clean and looks like a 00, then you should be in and around that $4 figure, if not start deducting. -- (wow, thats 2 that Edmunds has hit right) ...
Good luck ...
Terry.
The miles are right for the year .. it's a great color anywhere.. So, if it's knee deep in rubber, little or no parking lot kisses and the interior has missed the gang fights -- you should be lookin' at "in and around" a $12,5/$13 figure ...
I hope this helps ...
Terry.
But, it seems like you have taken care of it .. lot's of help there.
Great color for the area .. super nice tires, all the right toys ..
On a trade, don't get too excited .. maybe around $2,5ish, if it's real nice ...
The way to go here is: Retail road.
Clean it up, make it look like a diamond inside and out .. "fat daddy ad", for $4,900 and let some nice Bishop buy it for $3,7/$4,2 ...
Good luck ...
Terry.
Claims the depreciation is absorbed by the first owner/leasee?
While this may be true, what other advantages or disadvantages are there to buying off lease?
Also, because a glut of off lease cars, the value of used cars are being pressured down?
Any thoughts?
See article:

I own a Silver Ford Focus ZX3 Hatch 2000 model year.
It has 30,000 miles.
I still owe $3151.00 on the car.
It is a fun little car.
I am afraid that all the recent bad press about the reliability problems with this car will drastically decrease it's trade-in value.
It is still under warranty till November.
Question;
Should I wait till the bitter end of the warranty and hope no more bad news comes out about this car or
Trade-in now to maximixe value? Is it worth more under warranty?
I have been told to keep car for three more years to maximize the value from it.!?
Any ballpark figure on value?
Some tiny dings also paint scrapes on bumper.
Auto, Air, Remote, CD,
As far as buying a new car, in the same size, hatch/wagon catagory, would the Forrester hold it's value better than the P5, ZX5, Golf, or PT Cruiser??
Any thoughts to help me decide?
TIA
