I've never seen a Mexico built Honda. I think most of them go to California.
Rest assured, Honda isn't about to compromise their hard earned reputation by building an inferior product.
I'm sure the assembly is as state of the art as their other plants.
XM radio as an option... but only in the US.
Shouldn't that be the great white north, eh?
Duh, nothing white over here!
BTW, the first digit on my Accord VIN is 3.
Those kinds of comments are over-generalizations at best and nationality/ethnic slurs at worst.
But if anyone feels a need to pursue such a conversation, this is the wrong place. Those kinds of comments are opinions that belong (if they are even appropriate) in relevant discussions - of which there are many - on our News & Views Board.
So let's move on.
Thanks.

Let's not talk about the snow. Summer is almost over. Ack!!!
As usual for Honda, stopping distance at 209 ft from 70 mph was horrible. All of the competition stopped about 20 feet shorter from 70 mph. Pedal feel was complimented, but can't Honda learn how to stop its cars in a reasonable distance?
They thought both the exterior and interior design were pretty generic, although the materials used were "superb."
The sound level at full-throttle acceleration was 70 dBA, and at 70 mph cruising it was 69 dBA. The review said wind noise was barely noticeable. The full-throttle number is amazing. Look at these numbers from the same issue for the near-luxury comparison test:
_____________Full-Throttle___________Cruising
3.2TL____________74________________68
A4 3.0____________79________________69
330i_____________73________________69
G35 _____________80________________70
C320____________71________________66
Passat W-8________72________________67
It looks like Honda has conquered the noise issue. Now maybe it can focus on the brakes.
There must be something wrong with C&D test this time. Honda's brake has always been one of the worst/weakest among its competitors. But a 209ft braking performance with 4-wheel disc brake is hard to imagine. C&D previous braking distance for Accord was usually around 195-200ft for models with rear drum, or 180+ ft for 4-wheel disc models.
Thus the advantage of Consumer Reports tests which are all standardized.
Besides the cars listed above, I'd like to see the noise figures for Toyota and Lexus, among the quietest in their class.
There was one caveat to the increased stopping distance and understeer, the car had Michelin tires, whereas the last V-6 tested had Bridgestones. I would hate to see the distance if the car did not have the larger rotors.
One other thing on the suspension, the car was said to be more stable at the extremes, but was not as compliant over rough streets, and bumps and potholes were felt with "European" firmness. "BMW" firm was also mentioned in the sidebar.
Yes, I agree that road noise was the main culprit in the past, and it was not specifically mentioned. Honda usually goes with tires that provide higher gas mileage, but the MXV4s are noisier than other tires I have tried. However, other makes use the MXV4s without as much road noise. As far as some Toyota/Lexus numbers, the latest ES300 came in at 69 dBA at full-throttle and 66 dBA cruising.
I can't wait to try everything myself, including the new seats that were not mentioned, and come to my own conclusions.
Thanks,
Jane
DONT GO FOR IT!!!!!!
On the other hand, Consumer Reports, which has high standards, rates the Accord's brakes as very good. So I guess while stopping distances are a bit long, control, fade and brake feel are good.
Even if you pay someone to apply the wax you will save alot of money over the dealer's Max6 ripoff. All they do to the carpet is spray on a Scotch Guard type product, then apply a leather conditioner to the seats. Leather should be done at least twice a year. Products from Meguiar's are excellent.
Checkout the attached link. Good luck.

Noise levels must vary greatly from test to test as well. For example: In this year's Ten Best, the quietest car tested was the TL Type-S which registered 62db at a 70mph cruise. In the latest C/D, it's 6db louder in the same exact test. Same with the '03 Accord. It's supposed to be quieter than the '02 yet it scored 69db@70mph cruise or 3db louder than the '02. I can agree that different road surfaces could be the explanation for the differences. I do find it hard to believe the '02 Accord is as quiet as the tests show. I own one and it makes some gawdawful wind noise on the highway.
Man, it's hard to trust any test numbers anymore, especially those printed on the pages of Car and Driver. Sorry to ramble on so much but I had to get all of that off my chest.
Thanks...and keep on rambling.

I'm surprised that the dash board is the same as the NA Accord. Would have figured the Euro Accord to be much narrower. Good sign for shoulder room. I wonder about rear leg room and trunk space however...
civic incentive remains indefinitely, but tell your friend to hurry, as inventory will be dwindling quickly on '02s. also, the $250 is only for a dealer that does more than 10% over their monthly average of total volume...with the accords running short, i wouldnt expect many dealers to get it. mine didnt last month, and we dont expect to this month either...usually 300-325 new cars on average, we did 277 last month...the difference is the shortage of accords...down from average of 125 to 81 last month.
volume drops should be relatively universal, unless a dealer stockpiled '02 accords, which would be completely STUPID!!! lol
He has no reason to lie about it.
Also for your info., since you are in sales, we also have an Acura model here that is not available in the States. It's called a 1.7EL, a souped up leather-clad Honda Civic.
Is it safe to say people saw the 2003 model, and went running and screaming to their Honda dealer for a 2002?
I think so.

sorry about my ignorance of canadian products...thought honda was the same throughout N.A. my mistake.
I wonder if it does turn out to be a major improvement from the current, will there still be bashing from the altima camp especially the 6 camp? or will they concede that the accord indeed is really hard to beat.
For those who have seen it and drove it, kindly be nice enough to share us your thoughts. nice or otherwise.
im sure you guys dont doubt the fact that ill be on here as soon as i retrurn monday...should be around 7 or 8 pm. talk to you then!
