What might be the primary factors be in determining this poor lease value?
But to give you the short version again, the A3 is a low volume car for Audi. It's expensive to manufacture in Germany, and there's not a lot of profit in the car. It's meant to bring people into the Audi brand at a reasonable price. A 10,000 a year volume car is not going to get much lease support. They don't need to move 50,000 a year and subsidise the money rate and residuals like a 3 series BMW or the A4.
A pity Audi cannot get the A3's manufacturing costs down.

they did not accept my offer because i wanted the sirius thrown in. am i asking to much? they let me walk out over this and i was ready to buy right then. should i take it 29,900 and just do aftermarket sirius?
THanks for your help
2007 A3 premium. $31,400 net, 36 month term, residual $17219, MF .00435, 10K miles per year.
The MF seems VERY high to me. Doesn't .00435 work out to be almost 10% ?!
Please advise,
Thanks,
Scott

Lessee responsible for $0.25/mile over 15,000 miles per year and a disposition fee of $350 due at lease end. See dealer for details.
Is this a worthwhile lease option?
This is for an A4.. Plus, you left out the most important part... the monthly price?

I would like to know where do you get the money factor and residual value information? If you cannot tell me then please find for me the MF and residual value for:
1) A3 with Premium package, MSRP $27,433, 36 month lease.
2) Same as above with a 48 month lease
3) A3 with Sports package, MSRP $27,962, 36 month lease.
4) Same as above with a 48 month lease.
All of the above is assuming 12,000 per year. Also, I have looked at several posts today (for this and other cars) and people seem to be getting really different money factors. How are those calculated? Is the money factor set by Audi Financial or can it be different for different dealers?
Thanks a lot,
-delfin

You are right, the lease program does look really bad. Could you give me the residuals and MF for the 2007 A3 with Premium Package and 15000 miles a year for 36 months?
Thanks
Could you please provide me with these details? Again I would like the MF and residual value for 2007 A3 (both premium and S line if that matters) for 12000 miles a year and 36 months lease. I realy appreciate your prompt reply.
Thank you,
-delfin

2007 A3 2.0T S-Tronic

Options:
- Open Sky
- Tech Package
- S-Line Package
MSRP : $33,340
Negotiated Price : $30,739+ Tax
24 months with 15,000 miles per year allowed:
$1,500 Total due at Signing
$633.49 per month including Sales Tax
-----------------------------------------------------------
It has the exact color, and options that I've been looking for.
$633.49 per month seems like too much for me, though.
I wonder how they got $633.49 from MSRP of $30,739.
Is that a reasonable monthly payment?
Could you guys give me an advice how to lower the
monthly payments, please?
Thank you.
Audi has never put a good lease program on the A3.. but, that price is nuts..
You can borrow the purchase price for 60 months and still have a payment lower than that..

I'd be happy to give you my opinion on the selling price that you were quoted, however it would be easier for me to do so if you provided me with this car's MSRP first. This will show me how much of a discount you are getting. You also can always stop by the following discussion to compare the price that you were quoted for this car to what other community members have paid for similar models lately: "Audi A3: Prices Paid & Buying Experiences".

Before I go and negotiate and get a real quote to run by you, I want to know if you think its an okay lease offer. Below is the basic text from the Audi site.

Down payment $999
Security deposit $350

Not earthshaking, by any means... but, it at least makes a lease feasible...

With a net cap cost of $29,866 ($30,290 less $999 down plus $575 acq fee) and a residual of $16,962, a MF of 0.00307, term of 36 months...
I calculate a pretax monthly payment of $502. What am I missing here?
Thanks,
Charles
I would also assume that the money factor is much less than .00307
I don't have access to the actual numbers though.... We'll have to wait for Car_man's input for that.

Residual for 24 month is 64%, money factor is .00095. Residual for 36 month is 55%, money factor is .00085.
Also...I think he is feeding me lies, but the dealer says the residual on the S-Line is less than the Premium, and is quoting me a higher price. I think its because the Premium is sitting on his lot and the S-Line is not. Can this be accurate?
Now, for a limited time, Audi is offering an exceptional lease through Audi Financial Services on a nicely equipped 2007 A3 2.0T Premium with FrontTrak front-wheel drive, DSG Auto, Premium Package, and Open Sky System. (See complete details below.) This offer is good through March 5, 2007 so hurry into your local Audi dealer today to take advantage of these winning savings.

Hardly a wonderful deal considering it is only 10,000 miles a year.
The ad also mentions cash due at signing of 2,273. This seems to be for only the down (999), security deposit (350), acq fee (575) and their calculated first month payment (349).
Does anyone have all the residuals and MF by term and mileage? Im building a chart in a spreadsheet to run some numbers.
Thanks a bunch for your help guys,

As far as the S-Line Package goes, the package itself adds to the cost of vehicles PLUS Audi Financial Services' residual values for vehicles that are equipped with this package are 2% lower than vehicles that don't have it.
