I don't see any of these... I don't think ... so they must not have gone through Manheim.
However, I'm a bit suspicious of the 3376 mile one. There was one reported to have 3375 that went through Dallas last month. It is listed as "HP-White" though. I'm not sure what the HP means. Anyway, that one was supposedly in below average condition, so it only hit $36,600.

while waiting in a jaguar dealership one day, I witnessed a conversation between an owner of a new mustang and a salesperson. This owner had sunk somewhere in the neighborhood of $25k into the car already to make it a shelby clone. He now wanted to trade it on an XK because the mustang was too loud, too harsh, etc.

Yeah, I don't know. I think a few of these GT500s with literally less than 1000 or so miles were cars that maybe just sat for too long and got driven by sales managers, maybe the owner took it for a spin... The dealer just sold it to another dealer. Who knows?

The question in my mind is why do people buy these cars and then sell them with so few miles? Do they think they're a appreciating asset?
I'm sure that's true in some cases. OTOH, when we were looking at the Mini Countryman we found more than a few cars nearby that were less than one year old and with less than 5000 miles. We began to wonder what was wrong with that model as they appeared to be over-represented in the used car market...

So my Australian friend and I found a 2012 Shelby GT 500 with just over 2,000 miles. The dealer is a used car lot in Upstate (Glenns Falls), NY. Asking price of just under $47,500. I called and made an offer of $42,000 on behalf of my friend. I'm going to hear back probably tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.

As we have gotten further into the car buying process, we are now thinking of trading my wife's nearly new Jeep Wrangler (which she has disliked from almost the day we got it) instead of the SC. Can I get your help in getting a trade-in value for her car? Here are the specifics:
2012 Jeep Wrangler Sahara (2-Door) ~ 15,000 miles. Black with Black interior. Six Speed Manual transmission and Dual tops (hard top + soft top). It is in very good to excellent condition (it's detailed and waxed every two months - looks brand new). No accidents, non-smoker, tires/brakes/etc. in great condition.
Her compliants about the jeep are (in no particular order):
* It's too hard to plan (since it takes about 10-15 minutes to get the soft top up or down, she has to decide the night before how she'll drive the vehicle the next day. This makes it hard to be spontaneous.
* The ride is much rougher on bumpy roads than she realized before buying it.
* Being her daily driver, it is rather dangerous at highway speeds on the interstate. The definition of lane wander can be found in its short wheelbase.
* The trunk space is virtually non-existent and the spare tire on back makes access difficult.

Not to be a jerk about it, but when I test drove my 1999 Sahara I noticed all of the above on a 30 minute test drive. That was 10.5 years ago and I still have it- and just today I drove it on a 40 mile round trip with my wife and 18 year old son. No complaints- except from my son, who wants to drive it all the time...

I wasn't even a true believer. I bought my 1999 Sahara in preparation for an upcoming political campaign in order to negate a potential avenue of attack from my opponent. I fully intended to sell it as soon as the election was over. As it turned out, my wife, son, and I all grew quite attached to the TJ- warts and all. We ended up selling our Nissan Pathfinder SE and keeping the Jeep. We have never regretted that decision.

Going to be hard to put a number on that because I believe there are still some 2012s sitting new on dealer lots. Sahara with a couple of options most likely stickered a bit north of $35K?
I'd wait to hear what qbrozen says, but I'll take a stab at $26,500 - $27,000 for a trade in value. Figure this way they can put it on their lot for $31,999 & take $30K.
2001 Prelude Type SH, 2022 Highlander XLE AWD, 2022 Wrangler Sahara 4Xe, 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR 4WD
Actually, this Sahara only has an MSRP of around $31K new. A comparable 2013 goes for almost $32.5 right now due to several price increases since we bought. I was really hoping we could get somewhere around $24K trade-in.
Oh, right. Yours is a 2 door. Every time I play around on the jeep website, I build a 4 door Wrangler. How much do you owe on it? 23K - $24K seems reasonable. Wait to see what qbrozen says.

Nice. Red, slushbox, standard halogens (which you like from your wife's '09 328i), no NAV/I drive, sport pkg. that'd make a nice road companion for you for the next few years for your job.

Yes. a six speed and Xenons would be perfect, but I can retrofit Euro(non-adaptive) Xenons should I want to. With the '02 on the block and my son taking the X3 to college another autobox in the garage would be nice as my wife can't drive a manual. And I'd still have the ti and Wrangler with three pedals. According to the Carfax, it's a one owner that has had the oil changed nearly every 3000-6000 miles(!). It also has Comfort Access and Sirius XM in addition to the SP and CWP, so it's actually nicely optioned.

I don't see anything with miles that low. Those with 40k-50k are bringing right around $15k. I would imagine that one would pull close to $16. Maybe even better with the sport pack. Depends on condition, of course.

big spread on these. I'm seeing $42k average to $49k above average. And all of those are between 20k and 30k miles.
That particular car (it is on Ebay, in case you didn't know) didn't go through Manheim. Considering it under 10k miles, its probably more toward the $48k end of the spectrum. So $52k-53k should be fair.

with a stick, suddenly I want to see it! Too bad I don't work out in Malvern any more (right next to Devon), or I would run over and see it. and good guess on the price, they are asking $24,900
and for something with that little CPO left, quite possible it was previously done. Not sure they would spend the money for another 8 months or so.
I did check out the ad. Pretty cool looking, but with no moonroof, it is off my list.
and for the CPO pretty sure there is 6 year powertrain warranty without that?
I am not a car guy...so this is as best as I can understand it. I did drive the care into the dealership.
Due to some electrical issue the #2 spark plug melted and came up into the coil pack. The tried to remove the cylinder head cover but the bolts were stripped. When they did get it taken apart and were able to remove the melted spark plug they could not find the tip.
I am told the parts that need to be replaced and repaired for this will run me about $1,500. In addition, I was told if the tip "fell" into the piston the damage can be substantial.
So I don't even know if I can say put it back together and let me drive it? That is my monday discussion.
So....I am curious if I say don't fix and it can't be driven if there is any value at all in it. Do I tow it to a dealer and say hey, whats my scrap heap worth??

They had maybe $18k in it before certifying. What the warranty is worth is up to you. Personally, I'd have a hard time paying more than $22k, especially considering its not going anywhere until the snow stops.
EDIT: I went searching... is that the Silver one in Devon? That's a manual trans. Definitely no more than $22k. It doesn't necessarily impact the value... until you try to trade it!

and for something with that little CPO left, quite possible it was previously done. Not sure they would spend the money for another 8 months or so.
I did check out the ad. Pretty cool looking, but with no moonroof, it is off my list.
and for the CPO pretty sure there is 6 year powertrain warranty without that?
