it should be fairly successful at those prices and it leaves plenty of room for a more powerful model. turbo H6 maybe?
~c
Pricing looks great. Like someone said, a 5 pax limited is actually $1200 less than an Outback VDC!
Originally they said it would pick up where the Outback left off, but it looks like they actually start some $3 grand less than that.
A loaded one will run $6 grand less than an equivalent MDX.

#75 / #77 - Bangle got his hands on a Hyundai??? Looks like the 7 series rump.
DaveM
At that price maybe I'll look at one despite the way it looks.
(I'm just joking- please no flaming!!! :surprise: )

Sure does show BMW influence, though the inside is much warmer, probably aping Lexus more than anyone.
Car looked very nice, though. No longer a punch line.
The big Kia gets heavy, heavy discounts, some owners pay under $20k. That Hyundai gets a new more powerful engine so I doubt it'll be that cheap, but it still should be a good value at $22k or so for starters (street price).

I'm not a fan of the C-pillar or the Bangle trunk, but the interior of that car was very, very nice.

Cheers!

Maybe one that grunts? Or is this close enough: :surprise:

Sounds like a plan to me.

Could it be that all the gotta-have-its already got one?

I think I'm going to be working from home more often!

I hope this lowers the average size/weight of the car on the road, but it probably won't.

Hey, I got a Lancer EVO key chain while in NY, you want it Colin? Or do you find stuff like that cheesy?

I can't imagine what it might be like for large SUV owners.

We get pre-loaded gas cards thru a $crip program at school (fund raiser), so we usually only fill up $25 at a time - unless we're at Costco.
I predict a lot more gas drive-offs are happening.
Cheers!

Paying about C$4.14 ($3.40 US) per US gallon for premium here right now. That's over C$50 every trip to the pump. Luckily I drive so little that I only fill up the WRX about twice a month.

One station off of highway 1 near Big Sur reportedly is charging $3.65/gal!
Ken
Maybe my next one. . .

Same here and hope I never have to

Same here, BTW, all manuals so far. Dad has an auto but I doubt he even measures his mileage.

Bruce: is yours a Limited? That's what my wife wants, auto and all. Sedan, BTW.

Also, if you report your front plate stolen the Registry will take away the other and not reissue them until they change plate series again. But in the meantime, let's hope your plate isn't used in a crime.
What did you expect? The plate says Rob eM.
DaveM
LMAO, Dave. Rob M.
That sir is a bald faced lie. There is no such thing as a sympathetic supervisor at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Don't mind me, Dave, but I am about three weeks behind in my reading. My first car, my pride and joy, was a '72 Mercury Montego MX Brougham. It was the last of the light bumper cars, and had less restrictive emission controls (no EGR), making them more desireable than the '73's. Light blue 2 dr hard top, 302W engine, with black vinyl roof. High backed front bench with arm rest, leather interior. Bought it in '76 with 37k, sold it in '80 with something around 90k. As much as I loved it, my CB handle was "The Blue Lemon" for good reason. I learned to do a valve job at the tender age of 20, thanks to that car! Winsor engines tended to do that....
I spent months looking for a '72 fastback version (351C) of the Montego, or Torino, but they were relatively rare, and all driven hard and trashed by '76.
Steve
His was also an MX Brougham (bought w/ 102k miles). Dark blue 2 dr hard top, 302W engine with white vinyl roof. Pretty sure his had the high backed front bench but with vinyl interior (IIRC, it was dark blue vinyl).
I spent months looking for a '72 fastback version (351C) of the Montego, or Torino, but they were relatively rare, and all driven hard and trashed by '76.
The engine went (timing gear?) in the hardtop so he replaced it with a 351M (M = modified cleveland?) truck engine (from F150 or F250) and a C6 transmission. After that, someone pulled out in front of him from a side road and he crushed the front end. He bought a worn red '72 Montego GT (pretty sure that had a 302W also) that was had some rear quarter panel damage. He ran that for awhile then put the GT front end on the hardtop. The hardtop was then dark blue with a red front end.
I had a '71 Torino fastback w/ a 351C-2V (bought in Jan '78 w/ 45k miles for $1000).

Given the last few times I've tried to mak the Chat, I've had my times wrong, how many hours until it opens?
Cheers
Graham
bwa-hahahaha!
but, it gets better. My replacement plates show up like 6 months later. Instead of ROB dot M, they are ROBM. Back on the phone to the registry. Their explanation is that they stopped using dots in license plates years ago. They put me on hold, then came back and said that they would special order a set with a space in place of the dot. Two weeks later, the new set arrives with ROB M. I wanted to ask for an underscore, but figured at this point, I was pushing my luck. Rob M.
Cheers!
