How's the deal?
thanks!
So its as good as getting it at the invoice price!
Just dont let the dealer add any other charges to it and it will be an awesome deal as per me.
Guess you should bargain a bit.
Yes, 30,030 is the 325xi base invoice price as listed by Edmunds, once you get the detail report, which I suspect you have already done on your 330i research. If you check out www.Bimmerfest.com, you may be amazed at the documents posted by some members. I even got a pdf 2006 325xi owner's manual there when none is available at bmwusa.com. What I found amusing was the dealer product info which compared competitors and gave demographics of us, the prospective buyers.
Mike
Thanks.
this forum really helped me a lot in negotiating the deal with my bmw dealer. here is the offer:
2006 3.25i
silver titanium metallic exterior
black letherette
aluminium trim
sports package
automatic transmission
power seats
The MSRP for this car is $36,015 and the invoice according to Edmunds is around $32,800 (despite the dealer claims that its is around $33,315).
The dealer offered me $34,315 and another $3000 which is for sales tax, two other taxes that i did not know of, processing fee of 299 and lic. fee of 95.
My questions are
1. is this a good price. edmunds tells me that the invoice is around 32,800 but the dealer claims that it is 33,315. should i trust the info on edmunds or the dealer?
2. in addition to 7% sales tax, the dealer came up with two other taxes of $200. can you advice on what are all the taxes that i should pay?
3. is a processing fee of $299 reasonable? does everybody pay that?
any comments are highly appreciated. best, cure
After you have agreed on a figure, the only things you should pay for is the TTL (TAX, TITLE and LICENSE).
I think you should pay around 33300 (you are giving him a profit of $500 straight here but its reasonable) + Tax (looks like its 7% in your state...its 8.25 in Cali
I myself had talked to a dealer and the first figure he gave me was 1200 over invoice. The only additional charges he had put was some doc fee of $50. If I wud have negotiated, I wud have easily got him to 500 over invoice (considering his first offer was 1200 over invoice). Also, he did not apply any other charges to me. He said 1200 over invoice + TTL + 50 (doc fee).
car_man & kyfdx please throw some light
No way, do not pay that fee! It is suppose to cover them doing a credit check on you that costs all but $25 (heck, you can get one free). This is a big time scam that many states allow. I live in Virginia and they allow this ridiculous fee but since I'm only 20 miles from Maryland where they only charge $50 by law (last time I checked) I usually just do my entire car shopping in that state. Offer him/her $50 for the processing fee or just demand the difference off the final price of the car if they resist.

If not, can you point me to where can I find it?
thanks
What I don't want to hear from the dealer is, well we paid off your old lease that you stilled owed 1500 on so we can't move on the new car price. Any experience.
Thanks
Destination $695 (this is part of the invoice price, so you have to pay it)?
Acquisition fee $625 (you have to pay)?
MACO- around 1% of invoice (you have to pay)?
Training- $180 (you have to pay)?
Dealer mark-up $500 to $700 (would be a good deal)?
Residual 77%
Money factor 0.00195
Thank you for your responses.
for your
2006 325i 28,300
silver titanium metallic exterior 430
black leatherette NC
aluminum trim NC
sports package (ZSP)1455
automatic transmission 1210
power seats 905
Destination 695
Unless my math is wrong, the total is 32,995. If the dealer tries to pull a fast one, and takes the base of
28,300 then adds the LIST price of each option  , then you get 33,340 total. Trust the Edmunds info. You can confirm this by going to another dealer...you may not get a better deal, but they will probably not misquote the invoice price.

a few days ago, i received a great quote over the phone on a 325i from a local dealer. when i went there, he quoted me a price that was $1800 higher than on the phone. I was upset, finally he came down on his price by $200 (which is ~ 400 dollars over invoice for that car). i did not buy the car from him because of the difference between the initial and final offer.
i got the same quote (~400 over invoice) at another dealer, and so i put down my fully refundable deposite (the car is on its way here). now, the 1st dealer just emailed me and sounded like he wants to re-negotiate.
most of me feel that i should stick to the deal i already have and not bother. but a little part of me wonder if he was going to give me a better deal. what do people think?
thanks in advance
Personally, I would stick with your current dealer and leave the former guy alone...
Thanks,
Burt

2006 330i RWD
Jet black
Leatherette and aluminum trim
cold weather package
sport package
The car will have to be ordered w/8 weeks delivery
MSRP is $39895, I was given a price from one dealer in NY for $38,485.
I think the invoice is $36545 so the price seems a bit on the high side. Any thoughts?
Anyway I did NOT expect to come out with a new car when at dealer...almost had 10,000 miles on Sonota and knew had to trade...
What I got.
$10K down included exterior protection and tire warranty
$202 a month lease payments
24 month lease
20,000 miles on lease
I guess 7 out of 8 cars at this delaer - it seems smart people are doing leases...as less cost...
All Maint. is covered except tire balanced and rotation and wheel alignment...at 15,000 I go in for tune up and BMW pays for it and everything is covered....
The cost of the car was $36K silver metallic
325i sedan 2006 with 20 miles on car

:confuse: :surprise:
Finally, advice for future lease: put little or no down payment. You'd be better off putting that money in a saving account and withdraw a proportion every month. Paying high down pay can never be a good idea. Should the car is totaled tomorrow, you lose all of the down payment. It is not your equity, but is called "capitalized cost reduction".
I just ran the numbers and you are getting a very nice deal. If you extend your lease to 36 mos you should lower your payment about $27 @ month. If it doesnt, just take the deal at hand.
It should be around $37,000/-
What am I missing if anything. . I am offering 750 over invoice or 32315>
This seems so typical. He also told me that I must be getting bad information on the residual, but I believe the 77% is solid. As typical in the auto sales industry the sales rep has been trained to ignore facts, or try to confuse them and get the most money out of a person they can.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I would like for someone to help me run the numbers to see the money factor/ How much above invoice I am paying to lease this car... Thanks...
The extra fees are ways the dealers try to make up for the low price they offer you. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS MAKE A DEAL THAT INCLUDES EVERYTHING!
Coz what you see is the "$37245" figure. The additional $233 makes it $37500. So you are $500 off your price and its a straight profit to the dealer (in addition to what he is already making).
I would say, if the dealer is good, 37200 should be a decent price.
If he is not coming down, ask him for free mats, polo shirt, chrome keychain etc.
If he not even ready for that, show him the middle finger!
The range : 37000 - 37500
average dealer - extra ordinary dealer
check out the reviews on the service the dealer provides.
Make them workfor their money
Thanks for all the help. I just sealed the deal. btw, the dealer said the car comes with carpeted floor mats (standard), is that the case? I see them for sale on the web site. or are you refering to the all weather rubber mats?
