Go to warrantynews.com and scroll down to the bottom, I think that is the address change form. I think I will die of old age before I see a dime from this company.
They updated their homepage several days ago. In response to a question as to whether there was a list of approved claims, they stated: "The short answer is no. This analysis requires the retention of a professional claims management firm to assist the Liquidation Trustee with this comprehensive review process. There have been approximately 18,000 written claims filed in this case. In addition, the Liquidating Trustee must analyze data involving approximately 50,000 warranty contracts to determine whether warranty holders who did not file claims are nevertheless entitled to a claim distribution. Currently, the Trust does not have sufficient funds available to pay for this analysis. When such funds do become available, the Liquidating Trustee will engage an appropriate claims management firm to complete this review and analysis." Given that type of answer, the previous posts have it correct - we'll probably not even see a cent on the dollar.
Warrantynews.com last updated their site on July 27, 2006! I find it hard to believe there have been no developments since then - what gives? Warrantynews.com - This is THE source for updated news and developments pertaining to Warranty Gold and NWIG liquidation.....Yea right!
They updated the site again last week (2-4-07). I would not consider the news promising as far as any of us recovering even a cent or two on the dollar.
What's going on??? Isn't it about time for an update??? It's obvious they're not going to pay anything, but the least they can do post updates! Surely there's been some developments since April, 2007.....
I just got a post card in the mail from Warranty Gold Liquidation Trust stating the Plan Trustee is allowing my claim for the unused portion of my warranty that I had filed a claim for, in the amount of $708.13. However, they also filed a limited objection to this and if I do nothing, then the objection is upheld and I get nothing. I have to call and file an objection to this to have any hope, which I obviously will do.
I received a postcard on 11/23/07 with an approved claim amount of approx 2/3d's of original claim (not bad). However, the Plan Trustee has filed a limited objection to my claim to adjust it to comply the court-approved settlement. To oppose the proposed adjustment, I am instructed to call the Class Counsel - I've called and left a message. We'll see what happens.........
you will get about 10% of the stated claim approval....per your post card example approved claim $780.00 = $78.00 no matter how you look at it we all will get screwed by warranty gold
The web-site currently has (on its home page) links to various filings that they have made to the Courts objecting to certain Refund and/or Vehicle Repair claims on one basis or another (my name doesn't appear on any of these). The same page also includes a link to a listing of approved Refund Claims (my name appears on this one) and the accompanying statement notes that the actual amount will be whatever fraction of that they have money for. So far there doesn't appear to be a similar listing for approved Vehicle Repair Claims (where I have a signficant amount claimed). In looking at all the material on the site, it still looks as if any of us that do have approved Refund and/or Vehicle Repair Claims will be lucky if we get anything or at most, a few cents on the dollar. Again, the lawyers and the accountants make money on this type of civil suit, not us.
Just found this site when doing some searching for information on the post card I received about the big refund. What a surprise............................10% on the dollar. I knew I should have gone to law school. The only good thing is, I had no claims pending and no claims after they closed the hood. Well maybe I'll live to see the 10% and then buy a happy meal. Thanks for all the information.
When you do diligence and consider the recommendations of a reliable source, and it still goes all to HE##, you then consider it a class in hard knocks. Everyone is responsible for their actions and decisions.
Have you checked the link contained within http://www.warrantynews.com/? It takes you to a spread sheet that lists all of the claimants and the amounts they are supposed to have received. If your name isn't on that spread sheet, that is probably why you've received "nada". If your name is on that spread sheet, your best course is to directly contact the attorneys who are handling the distribution - their contact information is also contained in that link. Good luck.
Still nothing in the mailbox, even though my contract number, name, address and check number are on the spread sheet. Unfortunately, the attorneys don't seem to answer E-mails. Perhaps, a cerified letter will get their attention.

Think there's any hope I'll see anything?
Good Luck!
