    Ruthie2,
Only XRS model comes with 17'' alloy wheels as standard. For other models 16'' alloy wheels are optional and in only "S" model this is part of a package.

    Hi,

Here's the deal that I got today and luckily did not take delivery (just $500 refundable deposit).

This is SE Michigan 48328. Please help me figure out if this is a great deal. Thanks.

    2010 Corolla LE
    All Weather package
6 Disk CD Player (Corolla EV Package)
    Invoice : 17990
    Offer : 16999 + TTL + Doc (180)
Total : 18286 OTD (would not even move on 18k OTD offer). They completely threw out the TrueCar.com quote for the exact same vehicle (16,300 + TTL).

This is after a lot of haggling with a dealership that we have great history with but I suspect that I am not getting a great deal. By a small time margin, I don't qualify for the Grad Rebate and I'll be paying cash.

    Please evaluate for me. Thanks.

Finally purchased 2010 Corolla LE from a local dealer. MSRP: $17970, Dealer price: $15400, out-of-door: $16530. None of other local dealers was willing to beat this price, so I think this price is ok in our area. I live in PA.
  • imacycoimacyco Member Posts: 5
Can you share the breakdown of your deal? Which incentives were factored in the price? How much haggling to get the price? Which city in PA?
  • jason1995jason1995 Member Posts: 8
I live in Greater Philadelphia area (close to New Jersey). I sent quote requests through Toyota website to about 10 local dealerships. Most of them got back to me with quote price within 2 days. The prices were between $15400 and $16200 before TTL, $16500 and $17400 out-of-door. I am not a recent graduate, so not qualified for $1000 rebate. Only rebate applied was $500 Toyota cash to customer. Actually, I didn't negotiate too much with dealers. Since most of dealers refused to beat the lowest price, then I went to the dealer who gave the lowest quote and made a deal with them.

    dapacc,

If you are buying within 31st of July do not pay more than what I paid: 14800+TTL . I feel like you can even get 300-400 dollars less than what I paid.

    Thanks
  • i_need_a_cari_need_a_car Member Posts: 17
    Misscat,

You are not getting a good deal. Most you should pay with a moonroof is 15700+TTL .

    Thanks

I've seen the same car advertised for 13988. I have requested a breakdown of costs to see what else they will add for the OTD price. I will post the details when I get them.
  • i_need_a_cari_need_a_car Member Posts: 17
    dgreb,
The price 13988 is probably for a MANUAL transmission and no sunroof. Can u check the spec again?

    Thanks

We are looking in Houston for same type car. Where did you purchase and are you happy?

I paid 15,500 plus ttl after $500 rebate plus 0% for 3 yrs. for an LE auto with keyless remote and cruise. Millenium Toyota, in Long Island, NY Sales person worked hard to sell the car, even bought me lunch.
  • abchin486abchin486 Member Posts: 78
You have to get it installed or you will wait 10 weeks for one. I am going to tell you right now that alarms are pretty much useless now. A person can still break in, they just wont steal the car itself. Now cars have cutoffs when the key is not present, so you cannot steal the car anyways without spending 2 hours modifying the electrical. If you really want one, I'd spend the money and a get a lojack. The factory alarm probably carries a hefty price tag (400 - 600 dollars...the remote starter is $650...and that is w/o installation)...a lojack will probably cost about 900, but you will get bigger insurance discounts. As always, you must get it installed by teh dealer, or parts of warrenty will be void.

Actually, in NJ/PA area, it is very hard to get the price below $15500 plus TTL. All dealers I called said they didn't have $750 coupon which is available in MA area.
  • the_guythe_guy Member Posts: 17
    Thanks Fishy. I am going to ask for $14,300 + 6% + tags ($225) = 15380 OTD. let's see how that goes.
  • jason1995jason1995 Member Posts: 8
    Hi,

I think this is very good price. Could you let me know which dealership gave you this price? I got quotes from Lawance, Cherry Hill in NJ, Team, Conicelli, Ardmore, Thompson, Sloane, Peruzzi in PA. None of them gave the out-of-door price below $16500.
  • dgrebdgreb Member Posts: 67
so it wasn't as straight forward as it seems..
    13988+679 (body guard!)+750 destination+ttl (6% tax) = 16219
he offered it for 15850 OTD
  • i_need_a_cari_need_a_car Member Posts: 17
what is "body guard" ? :confuse:
  • misscatmisscat Member Posts: 9
    Hi
Is 15700 include any rebate or incentive? I am in buffalo. The quota I got without moonroof is 16,682-17000. For the moonroof, they ask for 1000 for it.
  • misscatmisscat Member Posts: 9
How much shall I ask for the selling price before rebate and TTL?
  • misscatmisscat Member Posts: 9
    i need a car,
Is 14800 include any rebate or incentive? What's your invoice price?

    Thanks
  • misscatmisscat Member Posts: 9
    Hi
I got a quato from the dealership. He will sell me at 100 over the invoice price.
    Is it a good deal?
  • zekeman1zekeman1 Member Posts: 422
No, they're dealing several hundred UNDER invoice prices right now - it's the end of the month; look at the ad's. Great deals to be had!

One dealer tells me that they don't subsidize"> the lease on anything over three years and that the rate on a five year lease would be between .0029 & .005.

Another tells me that the lease rate on a 2010 would be .00005 on a 3 or 5 year lease and that she has the paperwork right in front of her if I wanted to come down and look at it.

I'm interested in the 5 year as part of the cash for clunker program. Has / does anyone know the answer?

    Confused,

    Misscat,

14800 included all the incentives. What is the price u r getting?

    Thanks
  • corollafan2corollafan2 Member Posts: 6
I am wondering what area you are negotiating in? I am in MA, and interested in similar vehicle. I am just deciding what I gain with S vs. LE besides a sunroof and sportier look..
  • shand32783shand32783 Member Posts: 76
If I could have got that price, it would be in my driveway already.

Not sure how they can go $3600 back of MSRP?

I was at invoice - $500 rebate. Invoice was $18388 on that car.

Good luck and buy it already!
  • johnd768johnd768 Member Posts: 2
Well the lowest internet quote I got was from copeland toyota in Brockton, MA. Took it around to a few dealers in the area to see what they could do, most couldnt even match that price. Went to boch toyota on RT. 1 and they were able to match that price I gave in my last post & since boch is closer to me I just got it there. They didnt have the color I wanted, thats the only reason its not in my driveway yet but will be soon lol

    Hi,
Do you know the dealer that offered 16100 for Corolla LE? I am in Philadelphia area too and looking to get it and see if I can get that price.

    TIA.
  • corollafan2corollafan2 Member Posts: 6
Ironic... my 98 Corolla LE is from Boch and I live in Burlington. My entire neighborhood owns cars from Boch. My daughter purchased her 2008 Honda there last year after an awful experience with another dealership. I forced other dealer to refund our money after two weeks of sheer stress. Long story. Boch is solid and my neighbor is in upper management which is another advantage.

I just wonder if I need the S model or should consider another LE. Yet, I don't exactly buy new cars every two years.... I need to review option differential.

Be certain to register prior to August 1st for sales tax purposes.

I'm going in tomorrow and I want to buy a Corolla LE with alloy wheels and cruise. Does anyone think I can get one for $15,500? I live in NC and tax is 3% so this would put me at $16,000 OTD.

Seeing as a poster above me got a Corolla S w/ sunroof for $16,258, do you think I should offer an even lower price?
  • misscatmisscat Member Posts: 9
Did you take the 500 rebate+1000 college rate=1500? Is 14800 OTD price or before TTL?

They said they will give me the 100+invoice=selling price before TTL. So it depends on what car I choose.
  • jason1995jason1995 Member Posts: 8
If $16100 is out-of-door price, it is very good deal. The lowest out-of-door price I got is $16500.
  • i_need_a_cari_need_a_car Member Posts: 17
    Misscat,
    I got $500 rebate + $750 coupon (first come first serve limited)= $1250

14800 is not OTD. Add TTL to that.
  • tasaytasay Member Posts: 36
    hi,
ok, who gave you the quote for 16500 for OTD? Is it corolla LE w/o option or with anything else? I like to get a deal this week.

    Thanks.
  • the_guythe_guy Member Posts: 17
    Conicelli. They won't budge below 14999 + 220 (tags) + 6% sales tax
  • the_guythe_guy Member Posts: 17
I see there are a couple people from Philly in market for LE. We should pool together our information, I am basically looking for a base LE and the best quote I have gotten is 16200 OTD (conicelli springfield).
  • tasaytasay Member Posts: 36
    Hi,
Thanks for the post. I just called a couple and they seem to be more than what you got. I'll try to call up conicelli and see if I can get below 16200 you got.

    Thanks.
  • misscatmisscat Member Posts: 9
    thanks

I went to the dealer today, and they said 750 is for last month. They only have 500 cash rebate for July.

And they will calculate the tax based on the selling price before any cash rebate.
  • i_need_a_cari_need_a_car Member Posts: 17
    Misscat,

They are *lying* . The offer is until 31st of July.

And, it is correct that they will calculate tax before the cash rebate is applied (which is on $500). But, if u can get $750 coupon then the tax will be calculated after deducting this amount.

    Thanks
  • misscatmisscat Member Posts: 9
I am in buffalo NY. I asked three dealers, some didn't know the 750 coupon. some said it is for June. What' s the coupon look like or what they called that coupon? How can I explain to them I want that coupon?

The price I got is 16481+TTL(before any rebate). It seems it is the lowest price I can get. That's for LE+cruise control+weather package+ carpet mat. Tired out! I can't understand how other people can get such lower price. Their invoice price is 16782 ,but the big dealer is offering 16782. Maybe I have to choose the small dealer.
  • omvanomvan Member Posts: 2
$14800 for 2010 Corolla LE before TTL seems to be the best price. Can you please tell from which state and which dealer you bought the 2010 Corolla LE and what options did you get? Thanks in advance for your response.
  • tasaytasay Member Posts: 36
    Hi,
I just called Conicelli and they gave me 16900 +TTL with option cruise control and keyless entry. I said I don't need those and they said they can knock down 300 only. It is crazy price like that. Did you talk to them over the phone or internet or come to the showroom and haggle with them? If the price they gave me it would OTD be around 18k. Please advise.

    Thanks.
