    Bill/Terry:

99 Black Trans Am Coupe with 43K. Automatic with Traction Control.
Excellent (Clean) condition (I would rate 8.5 to 9 on a scale of 10)
Located in Orange County, CA. Could you give me an idea of approximate value for trade in and private party sale?

    Thanks, Bill G

Original tires (in other words, needs new), a/c blowing cold, kinda rough ride (typical for the miles, I'm assuming), has been in minor accident but did reqire paintwork. I'm hoping to sell it private owner. I bought that blue SI so now either the 96 Civic or my black SI has to go. I've gotten a private owner offer of $5300 for the 96 .. just wondering if that's fair.

A buddy of mine is, and, as a matter of fact, has always been interested in the viper. Have you guys seen any good examples with reasonable miles for around this figure?

I've heard they're fairly common at the sales in Fla, so, what's the money for a good, solid early example?

    Thanks!
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
...... If you can find one for that $20ish figure, it would probably have 75/85k on it, a lot on the beat side .. and needing a BUNCH of work, 92ish

Clean 93's with the top lookin' new and having 35k are doing the low $30's, at any auction in America and I'm sure the dealers will see at least $35++ ...

  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... What was the miles on that Civic again ..?

Never mind, I think I found it ... 111K is that the one ..? l.o.l.. $5,300 ..? Slip em' the tongue, fill the tank, grab the $$$ and say "bye bye" and thanks for stoppin' bye -- that's aaall the money, and then some ...!

Interested in selling 4-Door 2000 Mazda Protege ES, Automatic. It has 19000 miles (city driving in Central Texas). Single owner. Excellent engine condition with regular oil changes and service. Couple of minor scratches. Silver color, 1.8L 4 cyl, CD comes standard but also has cassette player. What can I get from a dealer for this. No accidents, no damage of any kind. Bougth in May 2000.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... The miles are tall for this one .. it's a base with a handshaker and no toys (shortbed right ..?) .. these are all over the place.

If it's nice, clean, knee deep, and hasn't been flooded in all that rain .. look for a figure in and around the high $9's ..

If you do it yourself down Retail rd. ... make it look new, all the service stuff in the front seat at $11,9 and you should see $10,5/$11,5

    Good luck ...

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
..... These are great little vehicles .. probably a best kept secret.

This is a ES (no sunroof..?) .. auto, right color, and no miles.

If this bugger still shows 02, interior is visible from the human eye and those scratches will buff or wax out, you should be in that low $9's zipcode.

    I hope this helps ...

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
...... I hope the rain hasn't damaged you or yours.

Grand Am's, well there kinda like Levi's .. everyone has at least one pair and everyones got em' .. lot's and lot's of miles on this one, plus Grand Am's are a little cold right now.

This one needs tires and probably a few other things, but in this case the miles will KILL it.. you will be in and around the high $6's, ultra low $7's if you are lucky, the V6 is the only saviour here.

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... These vehicles seem to have gotten popular all over again .. I don't know why, but they have .. l.o.l.

Good color for the gear heads in CA, but the miles are on the high side ... Soooo, if it has new sneakers, runs 100% you should be around the $15's on a trade .. maybe a little more because of the area, it might do the low, low $16's -- you left coasters live in a whole different world .. l.o.l.

If you Retail that sucker .. this being summer and all, $18,9 in the paper and $17,8/$18,5 take it home .. hey it's a TA.

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
..... Like I always say, low mileage, clean nice vehicles are hard to find ... this would be nicer with leather and a slider, but you can't have it all (picky, picky, picky) l.o.l..

If this LS is as clean as you say it is, plus it has noooo miles - just "jam up" .. then this little deal should do all of $8 and perhaps some change.

There is alot of Contours out there .. but, the 24v V6 is always hunted down, especially clean ones, with small miles and a sunroof, this one should do a strong $5 all day long.

Good luck .. and let us know.

Leather in fantastic shape. 2 small door dings on rear passenger door. Transferrable 8 year/80000 mile warranty from Chrysler. Looking to sell myself, trade only if I have to. Thanks for any info you can provide.

I live in Denver, Colorado. I was told Denver is one of the highest priced places to purchase a used (2 to 4 yrs old) SUV vehicle. I am looking to purchase another SUV. Is this true? If so, what states/cities have the lowest prices? Has there been any studies done that I can find and read on the internet? I don't mind traveling to get a great deal!
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
..... You hit the nail right on the head ..!

In Denver, Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, etc, these 4X4's get BIG money come early fall. Right now, most folks are enjoying the summer weather .. and forget those Nov, Jan, Feb roads .. uugh.

If you want to save some severe Jingle .. be lookin' for the 4x4's in Florida, Atlanta, Charleston now and probably Texas, if they haven't flooded down some river .. l.o.l...

The market is down all over on 4x4's, give it 2/3 more months .. and Wango Tango, those vehicles will drive up another $1,5+++ on the market.

As an example, I was paying in the $15's for 99 Ultra clean, 25k, V8, AWD, slider, loaded up Mountaineers at the auctions, just 6/7 wks ago. Now I can get the same vehicles for the ultra low $13's ----- Sooooo, do your homework, forget the KBB and some of the other info centers. You will find a dealer that doesn't want .. or need 15/18 4X4's sittin' around in 90 degree heat. But, when the weather goes cold ... those same vehicles will go HOT.

Good luck .. I hope this helps .

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... If you read the post above us .. then you are doing the best thing -- sell it yourself. Every dealer is lookin' to say bye bye to 4X4's right now ... it's summer time. Every whacko from Maine to New Mexico is thinking a nice sporty this or that and Converts are hot.

The miles are ok. .. for the year. It has all the Toys, seats, slider, 5.9 V8 to go with .. and the right color. So, make it look like a Diamond inside and out, put a GREAT 5 liner add in the biggest newspaper in your area, describe it well..!

    1998 Grand Cherokee Limited V8
    Excellent with 49k, Factory Sunroof
Leather, Infinity sound, all power options
Adult driven, Factory warranty til 80k
    Must see, Must sell $11,900.

$10,8/$11,5 should get it off your driveway.. never get too greedy, there is a lot out there right now.

    Maybe this helps ..

Not to disagree with Terry, but the 5.9L is a low production, high performance package. I'd run his Ad, but don't show a price. I think you'll find a retail buyer at $13-$14K.
  • jeepster4jeepster4 Member Posts: 53
Change the 1st line in the ad to: 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9L Limited V8

Any ideas on actual value of this vehicle? Loaded: leather, sliding sun roof, spoiler, aluminum wheels, cd/cassette, all power, everything but the gold lettering package. 32500 miles. Exterior color is light driftwood metallic; interior is tan.

We're assuming this pup is V6, right? I think all current Malibu's are but just clarifying.

Also, which area of this fine nation is the car in? Location matters.

I am thinking about buying a an suv but I want to trade in my 95 nissan altima and use it as a down payment. It's trade in value is about 3700, it has ac, power win, locks, automatic, with about 74800 miles. I was told by a dealer that they would give me about 1500 or maybe 1900 for it being that it's in good condition what do you think i can get for it as a trade in?
  • sam210sam210 Member Posts: 3
Yes, the 2001 Malibu is V6. Located in Southwest Missouri.

As a trade-in with 14600 miles, a/c, cruise, 5 speed (new brakes, good tires)

What's the condition and color on this low mileage driver ....?

    GXE ..?

    SE ...?

    GLE ....?

    color .....?

    Need some info here ...

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
..... Thanx for the info ..

We have a ton of miles going on here .. ouch, ouch! And you are getting no help from the handshaker ... based on what your are telling us, it's not 100%, so no help there ..

Passat's are still very popular, so if the service condition has followed the miles.. then you should be around the $4/$4,5 on a trade --

Clean this bad boy up, make it look 02, make sure service is 100% and drop it in the paper for $6,9 and you should see $5,9/$6,5 on the retail side.

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... Sounds like you have all the right stuff going on .. it's a LS, leather, slider, V6, wheels and the right color.

The big holdback here is .. the miles. Gobs and gobs of miles for the year. On a trade, in and around the $9's .. sorry.

    Terry.

4 Door Sedan, 146000 miles (sorry!) beige interior, 5 speed, white, cassette player, ac, cruise control. Car has a few door dings, upholstery is in good condition, mats are slightly stained (diet cokes)

I am looking for a GLE with 25K-30K miles in the Atlanta Area. How much could I expect to pay as a private sale? Also, I have heard alot about fixed commission independent dealers who buy from auctions. How do I go about finding reputable ones in my area? Thanks for your help.
  • pmike9pmike9 Member Posts: 1
I have a 96 Sunfire GT, 120000 miles, white, automatic, cd, all options except moonroof. Interior is in excellent condition. No dents or scratches. Paint is pretty good. I live in suburbs northwest of Philadelphia.

I am looking to trade it in and would appreciate any information on expected trade-in value. Thanks for your time.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... Gheeeeeez, doesn't any of you folks use planes, trains or buses ...?

    120,000 miles ..? Oooow..!

Well anyway, let's look for all the positives here ---- uummm, it's from Philly that's a start, uummm it's white, it's an auto - hmmm, let's see .. oooh yea, it's a GT, uuummm what else ..? Oh yeah, it's got a CD ... well that's about it ..!

So, if it is A1, deep in the tire category and blows ultra cold air, .. and needs -0-, then you should be "around" the $1,5 area on a trade .. if it needs 28cts, start deducting.

    I hope this helps :-(

This may have been answered before, but I can't seem to find it if so.

Coupe, LT1, auto, 2PSeats, CD & cassette, factory alloys, no glass roof, 56,500 miles, Southern California, red on grey
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... Sorry you got missed, I usually don't miss too many Vettes .. here or anywhere .l.o.l.

Soooo, let's take a look see -- it's a 96 Coupe, no star view, LT1 and we have the noise candy .. good color and the miles are low for the year.

Vettes owners .. and buyers are picky little critters. They like em' ultra clean, no kisses, seats need to look like they have "hovered" in and those tires better be good and deep.

If this puppy looks and drives like a 00, glows in the dark .. and needs ZERO all the way around, then you are going to be in and around that $15ish+ figure in your area on a trade -- if you have dent's dings and needs some stuff .. start deducting.

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... Maxima's are a great buy .. reliable, sharp lookin' and will run 150K+ properly maintained.

A clean 00, 25k GLE will have at least $17 in it, so start lookin' around the mid $18's+.

Lookin' for a good Pro that knows what vehicles are worth and understands auctions might be a little hard to find .. even though there is a bunch of em' at the auctions.. l.o.l..

You might check with some UC Mgrs with some big dealers in your area. Best way too test who they recommend is -- ask them what a few vehicles are worth, if they start flippin' through a black book, then it's time to look for another .. they should know that stuff off the top of their head - if they are any good.

    Terry.

.... Not much going on here .. if the air is "stone cold" and it runs good, $1,0 or less

1991 Honda Accord LX, White, 4 door, 5-speed Manual. 161,000 miles. Excellent interior, exterior. Added a CD player and new speakers. Will need a new radiator and timing belt soon. Dealer serviced.

I love the car, and these repairs are normal for a car of this age, but I don't want to spend a whole lot on it at this point. In New Jersey.

I originally posted this over in the Audi A6 section but somebody suggested I post here as well. I'm new here so I hope I found the right place!

I've been wanting to buy a Volvo XC wagon for a while but then this offer came to me today from a friend who works in a bank's leasing department. I'm very interested in buying this car coming off a lease but want to get opinions and a price check from the experts here:

    99 A6 Avant Quattro
    black exterior/gray leather interior
24,000 miles and supposedly in great condition
    cold weather package
    convenience package
    third row seat
Tires need replaced later this year
few small nicks in hood and scratch on rear bumper

    Price is $20,425

    Thoughts?

I have an '01 Pathfinder that I'm considering selling/trading-in to reduce my monthly payments. Here's the info:

    SE 4x4
    Auto transmission
    Power sunroof
    Bose 6-cd audio system
    ABS
    Alloy wheels
    Tubular running boards
    Tow package
    4 yr/60,000 mile warranty
    17,000 miles

It has been in an accident (hit on the driver's side after only 3000 miles! - all body work, no engine damage). I'm wondering if this affects the retail/trade value of it. I have had zero problems with the truck, but I know people tend to shy away from vehicles that have been in an accident. Am I obligated to disclose this information if I sell or trade it?

    Thank you.

What can I expect to receive from the dealer on a trade for this 97 when I expect to buy a 2002 or 2003 Acord with leather. Experience says you lose is a trade.
  • tiredofmanualtiredofmanual Member Posts: 338
I bet you guys were wondering when I'd show up again... This time I may go through with it.

I've got a 2000 Focus SE with a manual, zetec, cruise, CD, AC, keyless entry, fog lights, spoiler, etc. Basically, every option except auto, ABS, and sunroof. It's red, has a few paint nicks on the nose from driving on the highway, and two or three tiny door dings. With its regularly scheduled wash and wax, it really does look nice. The tires were replaced less than 500 miles ago, and overall she's got about 24,000 on her. No one has ever smoked or eaten in my cars.

What could I expect a suburban Chicago Audi dealer to give me on a trade and what could I expect private party?

I have a '96 2D Blazer with 77000 miles on it. The exterior is in good condition, while the interior is excellent. I bought it with 54000 miles on it a year ago for $11000 privately, but I've since installed a completely new brake system, new radiator, and a new battery. I want to buy another Chevy but I'm not sure if trading it in would be the best idea. Any opinions?

I'm thinking of trading down and looking for a ballpark trade-in value for my current car.

    2001 Maxima GLE, Gray Lustre
    20K miles
full featured GLE with everything except spoiler
    Exterior and interior very clean
    No repairs, just scheduled maintenance
I live in North Carolina if that makes a difference.

    Thanks.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
.... A GLE ..heh ..? and everything but the spoiler. The miles are a little tall for the year, but it's a great color for the area

But if it's newish, still lookin' sharp inside and out -- No kisses and no interior invasions and can pass for a 02, then you should be in and around the ulta high $17's on a trade ..

    Terry.
