It's this kind of attitude that has contributed to the rise of the attourney in our society. If we all opperated with a personal code of ethics that held treating our fellow man with honesty, respect, and geniune caring, we wouldn't need laws to govern commerce and fraud.
I hope never to see you complain about a fraudulent dealer or how you got screwed on a car deal. We create our own reality, what comes around goes around, and a stitch in time is a penny earned.
Enough opining, now back to our regularly scheduled programming. Up next, Watch Terry wow the croud with a 12K trade in quote on a Daewoo Leganza.

i can only assume that you like other jetta owners have experinced many problems with your car. and the 2001 jetta is one of the most problematic for that year. however, being that jettas to have a tendencey to hold their value very well you should do very well, whether its from carmax, or `anybody else for that matter. my girlfriend also had a 2001 jetta that she purchased new and was very troublesome to say the least.unfortunatley her car only had the 2-24 warranty, not the more lengthy warranty that the new vw cars come with now or otherwise she would have held onto it a little longer. steve
Do you own all these or just "adjust" what you claim to own based on the topic you're posting in?

hi liz, why are you selling this fairly new car with only 21k miles? i can only assume that you, like many other jetta owners have experienced many problems with your car. and the 2001 jetta was very problematic for that year as well.however, being that jettas do have a tendencey to hold their value very well, you should have no problem getting top dollar for the car. my girlfriend also had a 2001 jetta which she purchased new, and her car was very troublesome as well. unfortunatley, her car only had the 2-24 warranty or otherwise she would have held onto it a little longer. steve
Another question for you, if I may. My 2004 Sienna is to be in next week (believe it or not!)

1994 Acura Integra LS Sedan (5-speed manual)
68,500 miles
Dark green exterior / tan cloth interior
CD player and tweeter kit
Original owner
All service records
New Acura radiator and clutch master cylinder
Michelin X-One tires have 30K miles on them
A few dings/scratches, but otherwise good condition and clean
No mechanical problems
Only problem is stuck power antenna (radio still works fine)
I was offered $3500 by a local dealer, but I'm thinking of selling it myself.
1996 Silver Acura TL 3.2, leather, CD, automatic AC, but NO SLIDER...11,500 miles here in New Orleans.
Well, I went to test drive the Acura this weekend. And it looks like a car with 11K miles should, new, except that it is seven years and two body styles old. I asked the dealer what the story was with the low miles and she said 'old lady, wealthy family, never drove it, blah, blah blah.' I did not ask if she was originally from the Pasadena area.
Bottom line is the car is pretty clean but it is not the "premium" edition which means no slider. Kind of a bummer because I am not DYING to drive a 1996 TL... but with only 11.5K miles I figure I can drive it for 3-4 years, put 60-70K on it, and still sell it for 5k easy.
They are asking 12,9 but I am thinking somewhere between 10.5/11.5...
I will get a carfax and take it on a long drive (by an Acura dealer) before I do anything.
Comments?
now he's an expert?????

What should I ask for this one. I'm not in any hurry to get rid of it though. I have a company vehicle that I will have for the next three years and don't need the extra vehicle.
60,000 miles is alot for a 2 year old car, infact i would even go as far to say its excessive miles. i would suggest that you further reasearch your cars. i think its fairly safe to say that you can do much better than this deal as far as the milaege is concerned. 60,000 miles on a 2 year old car? was it used for a taxi?
Been away from the forums for awhile. Please let me know what you think...

We REALLY don't need muddied up trade advice going on here.....
Bid away on the Daewoo - it's getting ready to get past $20K!
The advice you're giving is really unbased and unsolicited - give these folks (consumers who are posting here) a break so they don't get 2-3 conflicting opinions thrown at them - we like to do things simple...
Please.
1. Need to trade in my 99 Honda Passport SUV, EX 4D, 2WD; 41,000 miles; silver; grey leather interior; no CD player; sunroof; good condition; no collision or repaint, just a few parking lot kisses (great phrase, who came up with that?); Southern California. I owe about $7,900. If I tell the dealer how much I owe, does that information figure in to how much they're going to offer me on a trade-in? Do I need to disclose it or is it something they need to know anyway and will eventually get once the deal is done?
2. And, you knew this was coming ... any idea of the realistic trade-in value for this particular vehicle? Edmunds has trade in at $11,853/dealer retail at $14,773; Blue Book has retail value at $15,780. Thanks so much for any help you can provide!
This is not a slam at all on you, just trying to protect all the good work this forum does.
The paint (that dark gold-gray color) looks good, as does the interior. The only real flaw I noticed on the inside is a worn spot on the cloth upholstery of the driver's seat. The used-car dealer down the street is asking $6,995...what would be a good offer? She has no trade-in. I don't want her to overpay...that way she won't be tempted to raise my rent! (This is in New Cumberland, Pa., just across the river from Harrisburg).
Also - does the nose bar/grille guard add anything to the vehicle's value? She would rather not have it. If taking it off will lower the price, she will ask the dealer to do so. Thanks!
thanks,
Dan
But anyway, it's not a Limited, right .? we have that darn meat clever going on here, miles are a little on the tall side, but in SCal you guys drive 40 miles for Yuppie coke .. color is good for the area, chromee's, slider, so we got some stuff .. trade side, if it's a real nice one, you should be seeing the mid to high $10's, could "maybe" see the low low low $11's cuz' of the "surfs up" area ..
Just below Malibu is a little town and it's on Retail Rd, make it glow in the dark, $13,9 in the paper and snatch $12,5/$13,5 from one of those USC cheer leaders ..
Good luck, let me know ..
Terry.
Get the Vin# and run a DMV, Carfax and the # through an Infiniti service computer .. sniff sniff, do I smell a Salvage title here ..? -- CLEAN 01's with 90k still see the $9's at the auctions ..... look close with a service Tech, then it's either a Buy ~ a no Buy ~ or a Goodbye ...... !

See what the new ones are doing in the paper and you need to be below that figure .. I'm guessing here, maybe $20,900 in the paper and $19,9/$20,5 gets a new player for Houston ...
Let us all know ........!
Terry.
I would greatly appreciate your help in pricing my CR-V for private market sale.

2001 Accord EX V6 Sedan with leather. Auto, all the usual power stuff, sunroof, 6CD in dash, 35K miles. Good condition, but been in a few tangles with others - lots of paintwork, but fixed nicely. Dark green with tan inside.
Located in long Island, NY.
Thanks...
Terry.
$60 bucks for the mirror ... doesn't sound too bad, miles are low for the year, we got some good stuff here -maybe- .. been serviced, oil/filter has been out of it every 3/4k, plus all the good service duties, no rust, no let's practice Drivers Ed, no funny stuff in the ashtrays, we have deep rubber and new stoppers ..
Trade side, in and around a "ghee whiz" -- nice vehicle for Retail Rd though, ultra clean, finish any service, great ad, $2,900 in the paper and $2,500 get's you a cheap ride to Disneyworld ..
Terry.
We got some miles and that darn no-sale green with tan gut's, plus the paint has had a vacation ... maybe in and around the high $14's, depends if it was a paint by numbers deal ...
Terry.
Regards,
Njexpress!
Thanks
