Volvomax, according to the Carfax report on this Expy, the dealer bought it at auction in late June. Would they have paid more for it a couple of months ago?

Condition:
Interior is clean and non-smoker, paint chip(s) on driver door along edge
Tires - consistent with mileage
Was involved in a rear end collision  - rear hatch door skin, bumper, sensors, tail light, etc have been replaced with new parts. No frame damage but collision is on Carfax. I think the repairs were around $4000 if I recall correctly. Can you also tell me how much the 'collision' impacts the value?
Thanks for the help!
Although, the big utes were already plummeting in value at that point.
W/ an accident and a bad Carfax, $12-13k maybe.

Several small door dings (probably 4 or 5). Cloth interior has average wear, with some stains, but no tears. Tires are probably 80% worn. Breaks are 1 year old. Regular maintenance, including the big one at 60,000 replacing the timing belt.
Involved in an accident a couple years ago - the front right wheel was replaced.
Runs well, but you can tell it is a well used 7.5 year old car.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

I have a 2005 Acura MDX Base model -- no Navi., no extras in new condition with only 13,619 miles on it whose lease is coming due in a few weeks. (I live on Long Island, NY). It was in a major accident -- can you believe it -- the day I drove it off the lot three years ago. It had $10,000+ in damage to the passenger side rear quarterpanel and wheel axle.
The car is basically new, but for the accident. There's never even been a passenger in the back seat, that's how little I've used it.
Was thinking of making a low-ball offer to Honda to purchase it when the lease comes due, since they're having trouble getting rid of these used SUVs.
What price, if any, do you think I should offer and/or accept?
Trade it in for an S2000. :shades:
Given the damage history, it's hard to see how it could be worth more than 15K (if that much) to a buyer.

Figure $17-18k on the TL.
2007 S60 2.5T. Dark blue over gray leather. It is at a dealer, but I haven't seen it yet. 7,500 miles. I think (assume) it is certified. Seems to be fully/normally loaded (I expect they are somewhat all the same these days?) I would also guess from the miles it was a service loaner.
Anyway, what would be the expected going rate for one of these?
In NJ BTW.

But how insurance companies can say there is no loss after a repairable collision is beyond me.........and a discussion for another forum....
Thanks again.

My Dilemna is the buyout on my lease is $15.5 K. My goal is to purchase a new Passat CC in 3 months due to zero/low availability right now(dont want to pay thru the nose for an early buyer) . Is it worth me buying out my lease and trading in later..it depends on what the current realistic trade-in value of the car is and if I can atleast breakeven. Thanks for any insight and help!
Have you asked about extending the lease instead for a few months? Especially if you are planning to buy another VW!

29,000 miles on it.
Overall clean. A couple of minor door ding type nicks, but shines up nice. Original tires and brakes. interior has no issues.
Only damage is to the front bumper cover. There is a small hole and crack from getting hit by a trailer hitch. I never bothered to get a new one put on.
Still under warranty until 12/08.
I would trade if could get an OK offer, or private sale (yuck). What do the experts think it shold go for in either case?
And, would it be worth spending the money on the bumper (about $5-600 for a new one on the car and painted)?
It does at least get really good mileage, which should help these days!

Have you driven it yet? I found the 1.8T engine to have pretty bad turbo lag, especially with an automatic.
THis is my first foray into the world of auto trannies, except for the wifes minivans. I have driven the 1.8 with a stick and liked it.
I did drive a Volvo S60 2.5T (low pressue turbo) yesterday. That baby had no problem IMO with lag. punched it at around 25 and it felt like I was shot out of a cannon.
It's not like my Accord 4 cyl has instantaneous torque at low RPMs either.

Add in the taxes and it's isn't worth buying if you are just going to trade it.
You should be able to patch the bumper and paint it.
Probably set you back $1-200 depending on the shop.
Price isn't bad. Wholesale is @ $21k.

Very nice inside.... which is the only place you'd want to see it... from the inside out..

I think they priced it wrong. Usually a minivan is cheaper than a similar SUV from the same make.
In the case of the Benz, the R class costs a lot more than an ML.

It's a nice looking vehicle inside and out but it's not certified. I asked the salesman why it wasn't certified and he said that since becoming part of Group 1 Automotive they no longer certify vehicles.
Last night I was checking ebay prices and I saw one with 34k miles sell for $22k. I may offer them $26.5k with an extended warranty ( only if the wife likes the car, she didn't like the size of the Expedition EL I asked about a couple of weeks ago).
Well, that IS who its designed for.
Dang, I'm a 30 something dad.
Hey, I like them ... kind of. But we had a Pacifica, too. If I knew we could have gotten an R for so little, we may have checked it out. But it would have been the wife's primary, not mine. I would have tried hard to find a diesel, too.
