List was $31,300. Paid $29000 minus the $1000 loyalty for a total of $28k
plus tax and license. They offered me an I30T with the same options for $28,600
after rebate. My wife test drove a T and decided within a half mile that she did
not like the ride. They made the offer after they found out I had the same price
from a dealer in White Plains, N.Y.
The dealer in Greenwich was $375 cheaper, but, they offered less for my trade.
I was going to wait for the I35. Decided that the 3.2TL S didn't drive the prices down
too much on the 2001 or 2002 3.2TL because they were more expensive. I suspect
that is what will happen with the I35.
I e-mailed the 14 dealers within 75 miles. Got three responses (that is how I got
a price from White Plains). They were all very close in price. Good luck!
The deal is out there good luck.
I have heard reasons ranging from emissions restrictions (as you mentioned) to the most popular being: The stock brake and tire configurations can't handle speeds above X mph. Bigger brake calipers/heads, etc.. and higher-rated (Z) tires are more expensive, which would in turn affect the price of the car (albeit slightly).
I have heard also that the speed restrictor exists for the simple reason that the manufacturer did not feel the car would be structurally safe above that particular speed. Front/End lift, extreme coefficients of drag, massive body roll to the point where steering/handling are seriously compromised, etc..
Just passing on what I've heard. Also, keep in mind that a few years after a "new model" of a Nissan/Infiniti comes out, Stillen or one of those aftermarket performance companies usually releases a new 'chip' that often moves/removes the speed limiter... But they usually recommend that you first upgrade tires/brakes/aspiration, etc..
BTW, there are several dealers willing to stoop to selling the car AT COST.
Just my 2 cents.
If the BMW dealer was not honest and upfront about all the costs and fees associated with the purchase than they did not deserve your buisness.
In this situation however if neither dealer was willing to come to your price it was most likely to low and if you really want to buy an I30 mabye you should offer more.
I know there are dealer that will under the right circumstances sell at cost. However, I still don't think they should, and since you have not gotten a call yet it does not appear that this is one of those times.
About my situation had changed. Wife decided to get the 20th Anniversary Maxima instead of the I30. Well, since it is her car, she made the call.
Good Luck.
Wish me luck.
price for a I30T w/ heated seats, traction, splash guards and
6-CD changer (MSRP $33,375) at $28,600; that included the
$1k owner loyalty rebate and $400 dealer cash back. You are
right in assuming another $500 is possible. Good Luck!!
I bought from three times. Another dealer came in lower on first
offer, but, was much lower on trade in value. Interestingly, the
dealer I bought from never called me to try to hype me into buying
a car before the end of the month. When I finally purchased the
car, I asked the salesman why he didn't call and his comment was
when I was ready to buy I would call him. I appreciated that.
can tell. First: The scratching of the instrument panel smoke colored
clear plastic and second, the issue of the air cond. condenser being
in a relatively exposed position due to the lack of a grill. Anyone have
any info to share?
I30t with Navigation and sport package.
Inovice MSRP
Price of the car $28624 $32805
Navigation $ 2166 $ 2400
Touring package $ 887 $ 1000
Total $31677 $35485
Total sell price $31077 with wood kit (dealer MSRP $695)
So, I bought this car with $600 under invoice with wood kit. If you count the wood kit in, it is like $1200 under invoice. And there is $1000 incentive. My sales confirm that with me. So, if your sales there is none, they are lying and try to pocket the money.
Good Luck.
in front of the radiator. Post #19 contains the last vestiges of someone
who had a stone kick up and put a hole in the condenser. $710 cost to
fix it. I only noticed it because my front license plate bracket fell off when
I was washing the car. I saw the gap without the plate obscuring the size
of it.
I just purchased a 1996 I30, and was wondering
if anyone has had any dealings with this dealership's service dept, or can recommend a good dealership in the iowa or Ill area.
Thanks
Anyway, thanks for all the info from people on this board!
w/ 32k miles on it. Also, remember that the trade in value is usually
subtracted from the selling price when it comes to figuring out the tax.
Here in Conn. the sales tax is 6%, so my trade was worth another $972
in tax money to me. The highest trade in value I was offered was 16.4k
by an Acura dealer. The lowest was $14.5k by another Infiniti dealer and
another Acura dealer. BTW, here in southern Conn. 1998 I30s with 20-30k
miles are going for 18,995 (on the window). Good luck.
nice, but, I don't know if I want to install all the pieces.
Has anyone installed one of these? Any advice?
Thanks. (full kit, 43 pieces).
