The processing fee was a little high- $225, but it was still a great price for what I recieved. A Manassas dealer had fairly similar quote for #5 package, but no mats/cargo/headphone and the processing fee was $198. But in the end Springfield still came out a head. Other dealers were quoting about $400 more without mats.
The 24545 did not include tax, title or processing fee. So "out the door" is likely an incorrect term. 24770 would be price with processing fee. I double checked the price quoted at Fitzwater (who has a $99 processing fee and my price was still lower.
Well, we do have 3 kids, one still an infant, so mom's loving the idea of being able to slide the middle second-row seat forward to reach back & tend to the littlest one.
Sorry to hear that tech_art doesn't like the way the car seats mount in the Siennas -- kind of defeats the purpose of having a family-friendly minivan.
I think I'll try posting in some of the other Sienna discussions to see what experiences folks have had w/ the 8 vs. the 7.
I was a little concnered too about the comment regarding the child seats being difficult. I know this is a "price" forum, so I won't waste too much time/space. If you can report back what you find out, it would be much appreciated.
FYI - Consumer Reports recently did a minivan report(I forget the month). They always have a "driving with kids" section and they made no mention of this problem with the Sienna. They did mention it as a problem for the Odyessy, which is why I've pretty much eliminated the Honda. For the amount of money being spent on these things, we should have no issues just taking the seat to the dealership and just trying them out.
i have a quote from a dealer here in chicago on an EX L ,OTD 27, 266.this is including tax and everything.i am getting ready to buy it but just needed to check if i was paying anything extra
I get a lot of mixed messages about these air bags, some say they are dangerous and some say they are a necessity. I guess you just have to go with whatever fits your needs and circumstances.
Just keep in mind that the way things are with lawsuits, there has to be disclaimers on cups of coffee at Mickey D's, much less with anything having to do with being labeled Safety sytems. My guess is that they are EXTRMELY unlikely to actually cause injuries, but just to cover themselves from possible lawsuit liability, they need to make a disclaimer. If you look at what the safety ratings are with and without side and side curtain airbags in the testings, they much improve survivabilty in side impact collisions. Just my $.02
i rembemer seeing that consumer report, as i rememberd, it did mention some diff. with mounting car seats, i could be wrong though. IMHO, odyessy is a better choice (more powerful, better braking, better handling), if you don't need AWD. the sienna's braking perfermance is diappointing, it took me a while to get used to it, since i never drive a mini van before.
Hello. I was wondering if a quote for a LE-8 with #5 package for $24,382 is a good quote? I received the quote from DARCARS in Frederick. This does not include the $100 processing fee, taxes, and registration. Please let me know
I got the following price quote for LE Sienna 8 passenger, #5: $24,382 + $100 + $208 (registration) + $1,219 in taxes....Is this a good deal? How much was the final price for you and did it include taxes? Thanks
My mother wore out her 91 Cressida over 14 years and decided she wanted a van. We knew it would be a Sienna or an Odyssey. After driving each for a day, she decided on the Sienna, as it seemed a bit softer ride etc...had a lot of features the EX w/o leather didn't have and had a decidedly better warranty (when is Honda going to get better than 3/36
We had already done the internet shopping on the Ody, but after driving the Sienna, perfect color, equipment and all, we told the salesman that we would need to think on it. He asked if he could give us a price and we agreed.
I fully expected the nightmare to begin. In the past when I've had time to research (including these forums), I've been armed with info enough to purchase a vehicle very close to dead cost, incentives, holdback and all.....
In this case he came back and said he wanted to eliminate us going "internet shopping"
He said he would sell us the van for invoice minus 200.00 we keep the rebate.
In the end, we passed on the rebate to get 3.9 for 60 thru TMCC which will save my mom over 500 the first year alone......
They also got a 7yr/75k warranty bumper to bumper with zero deductible for 465.00
The van listed for 31,635 we got for 27808 plus 90.00 doc fee
I'm looking at possibly buying a Sienna right now in fact, we may go to Oklahoma City this next week to look around. Does Dub Richardson have a good selection of Siennas? I've been on their web site a few times, we will probably go there. Do you live near OKC?
Hello, Can anyone share the price quote for LE Sienna 8 passenger, #5 in Chicago and suburb area? should dealer charge the destination and advertise fee?
Just bought a Sienna LE with just the option package #1 for a MSRP of $26,305 for about $380 over invoice. Before rebate negotiated price was $24,034 less $750 rebate plus taxes, tags, doc. fee. Invoice is $23,649 as per Edmunds. Got it at DCH Brunswick Toyota in North Brunswick, NJ. Got a similar deal at Dayton Toyota also but didn't have much selection.
Price was $25,150 at Boch Toyota in Norwood, Mass., after $500 rebate, including mats and all dealer fees, except registration/ license fees. Seems like a pretty decent deal: Kelley Blue Book lists invoice as $25,946.
Buying experience was overall very positive: did everything via email and we were all done after 2-3 messages. Spent two hours at the dealership dealing with financing, paperwork, etc. Would have been out of there quicker but for all the Memorial Day shoppers. (Dealer says they're number 2 in the world, and it looked like all 50 of their salesmen were busy.)
after the $1000 rebate and the $400 rebate! Everything included is $27700. I shopped a lot, and are happy for this deal, especially consider that it's in San Diego, California. Hope folks take the long weekend special deals!!
Just purchased a Sienna XLE without option packages, with floor mats. Tried Texas Toyota in Grapevine on a recommendation but left as the salesman tried to juggle too many customers at once and did not really seem to want to answer the questions we asked. Ended up at Toyota of Dallas where we got the Sienna for 26,600. Had driven an Odyssey before and did believe it was a bit nicer than the Toyota. Toyota salesman made us an offer we couldn't refuse and we left with the XLE. Very happy with the experience.
Hey Ian, I keep forgetting to ask you how you like the stereo system in the Sienna. That's something that has to be really good in my car, or at least sound good. I hate riding in a car that has a bad or cheap sounding system. Tomorrow I am going to OKC to check out the Siennas and might look at the Quest. I'll let you know how it goes.
The stereo in the Sienna XLE (JBL) is very nice. It has more speakers (10) than my home theater system, lol. One thing I like about it, that I did not like in my Saturn, is that the volume control is very slight. With the Saturn, it jumped up in volume too suddenly. One setting would be too soft, the next click up was too loud (well for some in my family it would be too loud). The Sienna is the opposite, it is somewhat slow to increase in volume, but at least you can. And you can control the volume, and radio stations selection from the steering wheel. Nice. The power is quite good, and it even has a surround sound feature. It has a center speaker in the dash, like a home theater would have a center speaker. Also, it comes with a remote so people in the back can listen to c cd for example, while the adults up front can listen to the radio. The people in the back can listen with wireles headphones too. Some of the option packages include the dvd player as well, we didn't get that. It would be good for long trips, otherwise we're trying to cut back on TV watching, not increase it! LOL.
I bought the same thing - a base XLE for almost the exact same price as you (at Fitzmall in MD). I think you get a lot of features for the money with this model. I also thought the Odyssey was a bit better, but for my needs and budget, the Sienna came out ahead. Glad you like yours too.
Does anyone know yet if Toyota has extended the 750 cash back or 3.9 financing for 60 months. This may be the month to buy for me, but if they didn't extend, then I'll wait. Thanks.
There have been no rumors here, but Toyota is notoriously tight-lipped about upcoming incentives. We won't know until tomorrow late morning at the earliest in all likelihood. Sorry.
Paid $30238, plus 0 APR finance. Was offered $750 or 0 apr, but decided to go with the latter one. The whole experience was pretty good and smooth. I got the price from the local newspaper, for a memorial day sale. There was only one left, the color was grey. Although it's not my favorite(silver or white), it looks ok. The salesman told me the black and grey are just hard to sell, I'm in Bay area. It took me three hours to close the deal, I didn't negotiate the price since it sounds pretty good to me. If I took the rebate, it's below the invoice($29488). Thanks for sharing the information on this forum, it helps a lot. I thought the price was ok, can anybody bought the similar package tell me your price?
I've recently got quoted $24,500 for an LE option B. With my 1994 4Runner trade in, I got $3500. Which knocks it to $21,000. Minus the $750 rebate = $20,250. Please, someone, tell me is this a good deal or not. I have a 24hour hold on this deal. Thanks.
There are too many factors to know exactly if this is a good deal. Frankly, I don't know what option B is. I only know them as being numbers 1 thru 8 or something. First, make sure you negotiate the deals seperately. Make sure it is a good deal for the van buy, THEN, worry about the trade value. Dealers often times try to combine the two to make the deal better for themselves.
I'd recommend donig the edmunds pricing thing and finding out the invoice on the LE with option B. If you are near invoice...within a few hundred bucks, it is a decent deal. This is BEFORE any rebates. Depending on where you are, if you shop enough, you may be able to get a Sienna at or below invoice. Where are you located?
Next, check the trade in value for your forerunner on kelly blue book...or edmunds if they have it. Make sure they are giving you at LEAST the trade in value, preferably more. If both of these things look at least OK, then you are probably getting a decent deal.
Most importantly, I wouldn't worry about the 24 hour thing unless you think this is some sort of phenomenal deal you can't get anywhere else. That is just a dealer tactic to pressure you into buying now before you do more research. They probably realized you might be a rookie and did that to take advantage of you. The fact that they are trying to enfore this 24 hour thing kind of tells me it may not be a great deal. 24 hours is BS, they can extend it if they want to sell you the car. Don't get pressured into buying that soon if you're not ready. You'll likely be able to find as good or better deal in the future.
some of the car buying tips on edmunds. Generally, they say you should start negotiating from invoice and work your way up(or down). Again, there are so many factors, a key one being supply and demand. Most crappy American cars go for below invoice sometimes way below invoice. HOT cars, can go at sticker or above. Simple economics. If talking specifically about the Sienna, you should be able to get it fairly close to invoice depending on where you are. I'm in the northeast and fortunately we have darcars and fitzmall. Both offer great prices at or below invoice. For me, I'll try to get my local dealers to match that price. If they don't, I'll hop in the car and go to MD to get one.
I'm purely guessing based on the stuff I've seen on this board, but I'd say that regardless of where you are you should be able to get a Sienna within 300 over invoice, BEFORE cash back deals. The fact that Toyota is now offering $1K back on the Sienna until mid June tell you they are really trying to sell these things and will do some deals. Be patient and be stern and don't let any dealers bully you.
To answer your question, apparently dest fee's are fairly legit. If you run the invoice price on edmunds, it usually shows the dest as a seperate line item but then tally's it all together to come up with the invoice price.
This is coming from someone who's worked with Toyota's for a little over 10 years and live in Buffalo, NY (salt on the road capital of the world). I personally DO NOT recommend that you do any sort of aftermarket rustproofing. Toyota does an extensive job from the factory and it holds up very well. If you look on the roads, from models built after the mid nineties, unless the car was in an accident, Toyota's don't really get rust on them. If it gives you piece of mind, you certainly can, but not a necessity by any means. Just my $.02
XLE w/ package #7 (leather, side air bags, 17" alloys, DVD, heated seats, traction control, etc.) for $31k plus tax and title after the $1k rebate. The MSRP on this car is $36,661.
True, for all intents and purposes it's 1 year old already but a decent deal for Los Angeles area, no?
this message may be late bu I too am in the process of purchasing the same vehicle - I have been researching for 4 months exact features and went out looking within a 100mile radius - I checked "what people are paying" The deal at $38300 is excellent - I have an agreement at $38,266- which is a fair shake for both you and the dealer - I think the dealer is trying to squeeze another $400 out of you - from what I can see that color is very common - Hold them to their word -- I am sure they would not let you walk for $400 and are counting on you not to for that amount of money. Good Luck!!
I was given a quote for an LE-8 with package BX (safety and entertainment) for $26,825.00 but that did include the $1000.00 rebate that expires tomorrow (6/13).
We are looking at purchasing an XLE w/ pkg. 7 this coming up weekend. My question is what are people getting off MSRP or over/under invoice nowadays? When I looked at Fitzgerald, their price is $610 below Edmunds invoice (thats if I include the $1000 rebate.) Should I try to get more off? I looked at DarCars and their prices were higher than Fitzgerald.
It was definitley a good deal. However, most people don't want to go thru all that. The auto industry is the most regulated industry in retail. You just found out why. In the future, use a service. You'll get the same price without all that ridiculous hassle.
I got XLE with option 7 in oh for $32500, that's approx $600 over invoice, i was seriously considering going to dacars in maryland to save me around $1k, but considering the travel time, gas, and my time and the fact that I was able to trade in my junk ford explorer at a decent price i thought i got a pretty decent deal, it all depends on waht you are trying to achieve.
Good luck!!!
I love the car, option 7 with the dvd player makes sense for long trips particularly if you have kids who have little patience after a 30 min in the car...
We Purchased 2005 CE with pkg 1 (roof rack & cruise), floor mats, MSRP $24,800, 1900 below invoice(including 1000 rebate) Total I payed out the door, everything included $21,300.Even they are ready to give same deal to one of my friend too. This price is almost same as dealer buying price from Toyota as per consumer's guide. How much room is there to negotiate? Can we believe on invoice price.....
I am on the market to get one in NYC. NOt decide to get LE+#6 or XLE base yet. Any suggestions on price you got? Heard there is $1000 cash back till the end of this month. Let me know if the price is after rebate or not. Thanks...
Rudy's Luther's Toyota in Golden Valley, MN sucks! They keep saying, "we'll get your van next week." It's going on the 3rd week. They don't have a clue. To top it of all, today I called to check and talked to a Manager, he said he'd check to see if the Sienna is in and would call me right back in 15 mins. He never called back. I called him back in 1 hour. He said he had someone else call me, but they must of not. He said he'd check it himself personally and will call me right back. After 1 hour which was 7pm, I call and they're closed. This has been the worst NEW CAR buying experience I've ever had and it's with a well known Dealership. I guess Happy Hour must start a bit early on Fridays. Oh, and I do remember seeing a BIG sign saying, "CUSTOMER'S #1". If I didn't have my $200 down, I'd go somewhere else. The fine prints pretty much says, they can have your deposit and you can be left with no car.
I am going to buy Toyota LE 7, package #8. After asking them about the rebate, they told me that I have a $750 rebate from Toyota that already included in Internet price ( I do not beleive this). The final Email price is :
For this car Internet price is $ 26,990 Add rebate 750 Total $ 27,740.0 Processing fee 99.0 Tax @ 5% for MD 1,391.95 Tag and Title fee 254.50 TOTAL $ 29,485.45 Less Rebate 750.0 OUT OF THE DOOR PRICE $ 28,735.0
Why do they add rebate before Tax, the take it out latter ??? Please help me to understand what going on here ??? How does the rebate work ????
I just bought a 2005 Sienna XLE Limited for $27795 plus $45 doc fee + tax and title. It has 10,032 miles, salsa red exterior, mint condition, not certified, all weather floor mats, front mask (I do not plan on using) and I believe everything else was standard on the limited. Did I get a good price? Any comments would be appreciated, there is no kbb used data out for the Sienna yet, so it was difficult for me to determine how much more it should cost than a 2004. If so, I would highly recommend Thousand Oaks Mazda in Los Angeles. Does anyone ever buy an extended warranty for Toyota's? The dealer quoted me one for $2500, my credit union offers a named exclusion policy for 7yr/100mi for $925. Any comments are appreciated.
As far as the car, our whole family loves it, especially our 2.5 year old son. He's addicted to the wiggles and now has a toot toot big red car (for those of you with small children)!
Comments
The 24545 did not include tax, title or processing fee. So "out the door" is likely an incorrect term. 24770 would be price with processing fee. I double checked the price quoted at Fitzwater (who has a $99 processing fee and my price was still lower.

This included:
225 processing fee,
765.60 VA tax
43.64 dealers business tax
10.00 purchaser's online fee
41.50 license fee
The price you are getting $24, 382 is a very good deal. Consumer reports wholesale price is $24,247.
