Good post. I'm looking for an EX-L (no RES) at Flow Honda in W-S. Looks like you got a better deal than they are offering me. Are you at Flow?

    Thanks

I've been a GM owner for as long as I can remember. I'm now in the market for a vehicle to replace my '02 Venture. I looked at the Uplander, but the Test Drive articles and other posts about it have pretty well turned me off of it. Now I'm looking at an Odyssey. From Test Drive reports, this is the one to really look at. I'd really like to get some feedback from some present owners.

the note on rules for the reply post warns against posting names of salespeople, telephone numbers, email addresses, or other contact information. Email me at gplkr AT yahoo DOT com- and I can send you the name of the dealership and salesperson. Do not want to give out the name of dealership w/o th ename of the salesperson- I would like you to go to the same salesperson I went to such that he gets the commission. He was great to work with. Also- you can mention my name- and I get $100 for referral.

i had 07 model. Soft break problem that Honda hasn't found a cure yet.

Wind noise. Other than that, pretty nice.

We are also looking for an EX-L or EX-L with navi and DVD..so far we have only gotten quotes for 29,477 OTD for the EX-L and 32,976 OTD for the EX-L R & N..anyone with lower prices in SoCal?
  • ilu333ilu333 Member Posts: 18
Lowest quote I got for the EX-L R&N in socal is $32,300. I'm still holding out waiting for labor day. If you get other quotes that are lower please share. Thanks
  • gaquagaqua Member Posts: 7
I test drove an 08 EX-L. Brakes are soft for sure (that got me worried) and wind noise as well.

The Rep told me that brakes are probably soft on that unit and generally not an issue, but it appears that soft brakes are indeed prevalent in Ody's.

EX-L in SoCal 26,700/- (with dest) + TTL is the lowest, I have got.

Not sure if a group buy would bring it lower prices seen in Bay Area (25,500 - 25,700).
  • artispeeartispee Member Posts: 8
Who is your dealer. I would like to move on purchasing this week, but certainly before the Labor Day weekend is over as I will have time to travel to this dealership.
    Thanks

I am looking for Out Of Door Price that was paid for honda odyssey EX-L with RES
then that would be great, I am looking for that in Bay Area,C

How did I do on my lease. I got a honda odyssey EX-L 3 yr, 12K/year, for $314/month (no NAV, no DVD entertainment system). I paid up front 2000 which consisted of 595 destination fee, 50 dollars tax on the destination fee, 900 taxes on the lease, first month lease payment, plus minor other registration charges. I still owe about 150 for dmv fees before I take the car away. So I think that is a great deal but I am interested in others opinions.

I notice that the price in the Bay Area is a bit cheaper than here in socal. BTW the quoted price I mentioned before is the OTD price. Maybe we should look into group buy here in socal. Anyone interested?
  • busyman2busyman2 Member Posts: 2
This was my price :) Prices are falling in Atlanta

    $25,833.00 Includes Destination Charge
+ 556.50 Processing and Prep fees
    1,583.37 Sales tax - Cherokee 6%
    42.00 Registration

    =$28,014.87 OTD

I was going to drive to another dealership which looked $100 lower and was a large volume dealer, but I dropped them once they would not send an OTD quote. :confuse:

I am in OC. Group buy would be good, I think.

Do send me a note. gav (dot) aqua at gmail.

The best Out Of door price for Honda Odyssey 2008 EX-L with RES is
    $31,007.88.

Has anyone in Bay Area or Elsewhere gotten below that for this Model.

This is my 1st post and I am in the market to buy a 2008 Odyssey EX-L w/Res this week in Savannah, GA. Wanting to know if anyone out there bought one in this area and what best price they got. I am looking to add options Running boards (retail $611)+wood trim(Retail $219)+ Fog Lights(retail $311). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, teaming up may make sense if someone else is looking to buy one in this area.
Email me at "nyb" at "att.net" (I took out the "at" symbol to try to keep web crawlers from getting my email address) and let's see what we can work out. Also, I get a TON of spam, so put something in the subject line of your email like Honda Van or similar.
    Thanks. Joekurman

Background: Paid cash, no trade-in, emailed about 12 local dealers for best prices. Haggled through email maybe once or twice, but the first price from this dealership was well below the factory $2,500 + 3% hold back

We got a Nighthawk Black Pearl EX-L with RES + NAV:

    Vehicle Price: $28,800
    Dest: $635
    Tax: 1772.10 (MD 6%)
    Tags: $254
    Dealer Proc: $100
    Addons: nothing (Free wheel locks)
    -----------------------------
    Total OTD: $31,561

I believe our price was $7,115 off of MSRP.

Is anybody interested in forming a group to get good discounts to buy 08 Honda Odyssey this week before Sep 2?
  • matthew123matthew123 Member Posts: 5
I'm interested. I have been shopping for a good deal for the last 3 weeks for a Honda Odyssey 08 EX-L with RES. I was also thinking about taking the special financing but so far the dealers are outright refusing to go below $32,300 OTD. I live in Central Jersey too. Let me know how we can go about this. I want to buy in the next couple of days.

Yes, I would be interested in EX-L in the bay area. Anyone else from the bay area? Lets form a group.

That's great! Sounds like a successful deal. Which dealership did you end up going to, and would you consider getting regular service there?

Just drove the van back. We probable got a bit better deal (28.3k) but were exhausted (two trips, total 8 hrs), really need to go to bed early today.

I am at SoCal and I am looking for EX-L or EX-L RES. So far the best offer I got is $26,642.00 not including destination fee ($670) for EX-L. I am interested in forming a purchasing group. We should be able to get a better price according other people's experience here.

Did you take the special financing or you did cash down?

Thinking about buying an EX-L in the next couple of weeks. The best price I have found around here is $27,200 (plus tax/title).

Reading through this thread this seems like an average price, but not a particularly great deal. Anyone have any thoughts about whether it is better to take the $27,200 now, or wait until next month when the incentives may change?

    All input appreciated...

I am also interested in purchasing a 08 Odyssey EX-L before Sept 2.
  • mplshondadlrmplshondadlr Member Posts: 409
I would shoot for around 26.3 or there abouts. Some have said the have cracked 25.5 which seems really low.
  • artispeeartispee Member Posts: 8
What area are you in? Who is your dealership and salesperson? This is a great deal. These numbers would work for me too. This is exactly what I want to get otd with.
