I dont think there is any real fix to this idling problem but its not really that big a problem.
it has some styling and size similarities to the M
and at a price of about 34K it could be a serious challenger. Rumors have it pegged at below 7 sec 0-60mph times.
Anyone heard of this problem? It'll go to the 5-star on Monday.
Mopar or no car!
On a side note...the Dream Cruise itself was nice. The bad thing is..I was called into work on Friday and missed hanging with the guys...hooked with them for awhile at the Cruise (Sat)and then got called in again that evening and missed dinner. I am at work now (Sun), until 8 a.m. I surely hope that I can hook up with them before they leave. =(
just wanted to share.
At this point my wife was getting exasperated, so I called it quits for now. Very therapeutic. My boss is coming to town tomorrow and my ride will be looking good! Gotta go now and look at the Monterrey pics on the club site.

Had a blast!!!! I bet no one will ever guess who russklass and I met.
Any guesses? I mean besides otto and his group of great co-workers and friends!
Friday evening after the Chrysler museum, russ and I were just in time to see a parade of a hundred Prowlers lead about five hundred PT Cruisers out of a parking lot on the grounds and on some sort of route around the city
And on Saturday, the Dream Cruise was just that -- a dream... for any car buff, at least. Estimates were thirty-five thousand cars and over 1.75 million visitors and $55 million into the local economy. I would suggest it to anyone, even if you have to fly in for it!
...and the Ford museum... also a must!

The touring package (non PHP/PHG <118mph) tire is the Michelin PilotEnergy HX MXV4 Plus.
On the the PHP/PHG models (PHP/PHG >118mph) they're using the Michelin Pilot MXM4 V Rated tires.
Yokohoma, Bridgestone, BF Goodrich, others all make very good tires in this stock size and many who post here regulary have given their opinions of their purchases. The one thing that most here agree on is that the Goodyear Eagle LS tires are awful on this car. They're performance, wear, vibration, and noise characteristics are easily bettered.
Do yourself a favor go to your favorite Chrysler 5* dealer and test drive the 01-02 models with the Michelin treads.
Do yourself a Big favor and find one with Performance Handling Group on the sticker and take it for a spirited spin! :-)
SHOP AROUND for the best price. Check the net and your local dealers. the differece in the prices I got across the counter and on the phone between the local dealers was sometimes $30/tire for the same make/model/size. After finding the right deal, the difference between the Pilot MXM4 and the Pilot XGT Z4 was only $5 a tire for me so I went for the upgrade because I was looking for at least the 300M PHP/PHG level of performance.
Check out the manufacturers web sites for excellent info on tire specs, sizing, application, etc...
Also tirerack.com, discounttires.com, many, many others. hope this helps.
BTW, www.300mclub.org is the 300M Enthusiast Club website. Please drop by, excellent info on this excellent automobile.

I wonder if it would be possible to obtain one in Agate... Was that even a '99 LHS interior color option?

They sell stock rims/knock off's, but will give you the bolt pattern etc, for the year of the stang.
PS-get your 300M back yet?
I'll say this... if anyone wants the 300Hemi built, you can't talk to anyone higher than who we met! We put in our concerns for it being built... we'll see.

It is my opinion that you purchase an engine controler from SuperChip if you really want this performance. In all reality that might be what that ASE place does. You send in a comp for them to work on and they charge you $400. Then they send your comp to SuperChip for $250 and send it back to you. Boom $150 profit and no worries.
The performance that they state on their site is possible. Especially if you tune your car to run on premium gas and move or remove the rev-limiter. The reason why JetChip doesn't work is because it just adjust the fuel/air mixture and timing. It does nothing to actually change the way the engine operates.
Of course you could always but the Optimizer II from KenneBell Superchargers for $350!
How 'bout Dieter?

Meeting Herr Dieter Zetsche was a real hoot. He was certainly very affable, and I must say I was very Impressed. I only wish we had had a photo taken with him!

I was probably more awestruck in his presence, but I think the jist of it was that they are of course still talking about it.
Good news in a way that it's still discussing it and it doesn't have a red light, bad news that it's not out yet and that it has more of a yellow light than a green one.

I did notice that they do have some hard road noise while travling over very rough road surfaces. Discount Tire put 38lbs psi in the tires
so I mite need to drop that down to 36lbs psi to help with the road noise.
