Your deciding factor.......... Children. How many do you have?
If you have 1 or more then plan on putting a factory size (9") DVD screen on the ceiling (and unfortunatly behind you) so the kid(s) can watch. Plan on at least 250.00 for installation alone because Honda's are pesky to take apart and put back together again.
If no kids then you have it made..... Put an Alpine or Kenwood screen inside the dash so you can watch your favorites in fabulous sound. Plan on 350.00 for the head unit and most of the time you can get a free install.
NOTE TO USA SPEC:
I heard a lot of great things about your OEM MP3 Ipod conector products. I own a 2007 Honda Odyssey with Rear Entertainment System, XM Radio, and Navigation. I wanted to know what month the soon to be released USA spec model (PA12) for "Honda" will come out in 2007 or 2008. The model I am refereing is the PA12 version that will allow the user to see MP3 song file names on the Navigation screen.
MFG WROTE BACK:
This product is planned but I can not tell you when it may released, I
can tell you it is at least 4 months off.

When you buy it, Crutchfield also sends you a "MasterSheet" with installation instructions including large pictures. Here are some pictures of a DIY install from the odyclub forums:

That guy has a NAV, but here are some pics from a RES only-owner (although he is installing a DICE, which is a different brand).

We bought our Odyssey last Saturday, and my husband is planning on installing our adapter this weekend.
I hope that answers your questions.

I have an 06 Honda Osyssey Touring edition, and I have had trouble finding an answer to my question:
I want to add an I-pod interface (Honda Music Link for I-Pod), and add a Blue tooth from Parrot ck3100, no one has been able to tell me if I can hook up both of these components together, or if I am going to run into a connector problem, because my thought is that both of these may use the same connector to interface, and I may have to use a splitter? does anybody have any insight on this, or if its at all possible, I would like to know before I purchase these products.
I did call but Crutchfield, where I plan on purchasing the Parrot blue-tooth, and they didnt know, I also called Bernardi's who I am planning on purchasing the I-Pod interface from, and they couldnt answer that question either, any help from anybody would be great.
I will inquire about these items, and if I run into more confusion, I will post another question, I will also post to let everybody know how it works out in the end.....

thank you.

The manual for the D3 is here:

It shows that a CD changer may be connected by IP-BUS cable to a satellite tuner then to another satellite tuner then finally back to the head unit -- can the CD changer be connected directly to the head unit by this IP-BUS cable?
The AUX port on your radio is empty, and the unit plugs right into that. Since factory XM uses the same port, if you have that, you need the splitter.
It isn't the RES or NAV that casues the problem, it's the factory XM set up.

thank you guys
I was able to install an an over head monitor and an indash DVD Player (without removing the factory installed CD Player) successfully in Best Buy. Initially the guy told it might be difficult, but then he was able to do it successfully.
But now the question I have is , the JVC DVD Player has 4 Audio outs. 2 for Rear speakers and 2 for Front speakers. We were able to connect only 2 front speakers to the HON03/PC-SON 03-07 unit as it has only 2 RCA inputs. Does USASpec PA11-HON2Y unit has 4 audio inputs. If not is there any other product that can do that. Any help appriciated?
Thanks in advance
There are many ways to make dvd backups. Here is one way which works 100% on my '05 Ody factory RES unit:
-- AnyDVD from slysoft_dot_com to unlock commercially produced (Hollywood) dvds
-- CloneDVD 2 from slysoft to copy and burn any unlocked (see above) dvd, or any portion (e.g. remove the nag screens and coming attractions)
These products aren't free, but there are other methods which are free which will work equally well. Nevertheless, I was happy to pay for these products (and in hindsight, I'm still happy I paid), because they are bulletproof and idiotproof. It's as simple as making toast and almost as fast -- and 100% reliable (at least in my experience).
YMMV
Not sure exactly what I paid, since I also had new front speakers put in at the same time, but I think it was around $40. It really is a pretty simple job if you know what you are doing.
I had the unti put in the small cubby below the HVAC controls. You can also mount it behind the dash and just run wires, but there are some switches on the box to change the settings so I wanted access to it just in case. Also easier to change the RCA cable for the extra set of inputs.
It actually works perfectly in that little cubby. You can leave the ipod in with it and keep the door closed and no one would know it was there. No exposed wires either.

1. JVC KD-AVX11 Dvd player $230 from frys on thanks giving week end.
2. Overhead DVD Monitor $80 from cardomain.com
3. Trim and other accessrries needed to attach the player $50-$60
4. PIE adapter $50
5. Installation $220.
So around $600 to $650. The most important is to find an installer to install this. The BB installer was willing to try, but most of them are not. And the installation can be much more costilier as it varies from place to place.
Hope that helps.
It's easy on a Macintosh:
rip the title you bought using MacTheRipper:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22715
then use quality media (sony, NOT memorex) to burn the DVD using Toast:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11427
While there are other ripping products out there, this combination has proven rock solid. This is useful for making spare copies of your purchased DVD library -- keeping the originals safe at home.
In Feb08, XM sent me a 5"x7" postcard "special come back offer": $4.99/month + taxes for 3 months ------OR---------- Get 1/2 off for a full year.
I took advantage of the latter sweet deal about $6.50/month + taxes (regular $12.95/month + taxes) for a full year. Re-activation was waived.
I have excellent experiences with audio and video products with my employer discounts. Free shipping and no taxes out of VA.
Lifetime products support and installation. Car audio with free custom brackets, harnesses, and instructions.
Has anyone had this trouble? If so, do you have a solution? My dealer has not been able to solve this yet.
Thanks!
Hope that helps.
How does the aftermarket dvd player you purchased deliver sound to the factory head unit? I would guess it's cabled in. If it is, the sound should be fantastic and you should not settle for the "use IR headphones" nonsense. Take it back and have the installer make it right. If it's not cabled in (if it's merely providing sound via an FM modulator that you tune to on the FM receiver of the headunit), then, frankly my dear, that's never going to work worth a cra¶.
Dose anybody know the manufature who made dvd system for 2008 Odyssey.
Thank you!!
