Question for you guys who have cranked your what was the bolt size? Hillhound told me he used 18mm. However i used 19mm
Do a dyno before and after you will be surprised.
I bet two Z71 stickers will add more HP
Ryan
Thanks,
Barry
Changes none really. That orange color is no more
ryan: please say again how your ride felt after you made the torson bar adjustment.
obyone: on a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate your "pv" system? I heard back from gibson on my problem they said there really isnt much they can do to help, except change my muffler. But I dont think that will help the lack of performance issues. they also said they are having problems with the single in dual out mufflers on some cat back systems and they are working the issues. to bad for the unsuspecting consumers that are buying "known problems".
I think the ride is better. I have less bounce on bumps
I am getting mine aligned on friday morning so i can let you know how much it was off then

I like how you have your dad's S-10 back 15 or so feet to make it look eaven smaller.
About time for some 315's?

If i rear ended the S-10 id knock off the cap

Replaced the Gibson with the PV system. Started truck up...little louder with a low burble. Drove the truck out and around the block. All I could think was what a big difference and that Gibson was a true POS. I am 99% satisfied with the PV system and would rate it a 9.99 out of 10. The sound at idle is impressive sounding like a big block and have had many comments from people. I do wish it was a little quieter on the freeway...but is way quieter than the Gibson. Would I buy it again....absolutely. I only wish I had heard of Hamm headers before buying these make believe shorty headers from JBA.
Have you considered buying a Dynomax muffler and adding a venturi? Reason I ask is that it would be as close as you can get to a PV system while not having to pay for the full system. I think you'd be impressed by it. Before John developed his own muffler, he use to sell the Dynomax with the venturi as a complete system. It was last year, I think, that he developed his own muffler. It dyno'd a 6hp increase over the dynomax which is good but may or may not be worth it depending on your situation.
My advice would be at this point, is to try a dynomax muffler as this would be the cheapest route. If not satisfied, buy and add the venturi. The Gibson pipes are mandrel bent so changing those wouldn't give you too much in terms of results.
Yesterday went to my local lumber yard to pick up a 8' counter top and the 2 muscle bound kids that loaded it, slid the particle board over the tailgate protector, putting a 3" gash in the top of it. (I was searching for a straight piece of 1x4 at the time and was not out of the barn yet) Now this yard is at the end of my street and it is where I do most all of my business, (they can get marine lumber..heh heh). They know this is a new truck and they even know my daughters.
I went to the manager and showed him what happened. Though he indicated that he felt it was minor damage, and didn't feel it warranted any consideration, he told me to see what it would cost to replace it.
Now am I being too anal about this? Had I been at the back of the truck, I would have opened the tailgate and slid the board in flat, but these guys slid it across the tailgate cap and left it angled in the bed with no support in the middle.
What would you do? I ask because you must have an opinion from your time at Menards.

You'll be surprised!!
BTW, I wouldn't have had that problem as my tailgate protector is made of stainless steel. what I do have is an extra tailgate protector from the old days when my truck was stock. You can have it for the shipping cost. If ya want it it's yours as it's only collecting dust. Drop me an email.
Personally from menards when i loaded anything into a newer (no rust or not falling apart and this was rare) truck i took my time and did it carefully. Im sure this has something to do with me having a new truck and not wanting it to happen.
You lucky the manager said get a price and they will replace it. At menards you would be SOL. There are signs that say we are not responsible for any damage caused. (Unless a forklift hits you or stuff like that you know which has happened)
I was blamed 3 times for causing damage. First guy said i dented his wheel well putting in a pallet of shingles. HMMM he had a 1971 rusted out green ford. The bed was falling off as it was. Guy wanted his shingles free. It was a scam manager told him his truck wasnt worth a pop can. Guy never said a word and left.
Next time we were putting in (me and 2 guys) some lap siding in a van. I was in the middle holding it so it didnt bow. Guy was placing it on the dash. Guy behind gave it a shove and it broke the windshield. Guy in front said i did it. I had witnesses that i did so i was lucky. Thank god for other honest customers.
Third time guy comes in in a brand new ZR2. No bedliner picks up a roll of fencing (duh metal on metal). So hes standing there and we slide it in. Guy goes nuts. THis isnt light stuff. Starts hollaring &#^^#%@*@ later this wk i am going in for a rhino liner you ruined my bed. I chuckled at the guy and said do you know what they do to the bed before they spray it? I said they scrap off the paint. He got in his truck and sped off.
This is a hard call are you being anal? Id say no but its a tailgate protector. I know i have scraped it up many times the first big scrap was the worst i about died. It was about an inch deep gouge in the middle on the corner.
There will be many scratches that occur i now have a bunch and it doesnt bother me anymore.
DOnt know if this helped or not. If hes paying go for it buy a new one
Ryan
What's the problem here folks?
Yeah they should have dropped the gate to load it....but isn't that what the protector is for?...to take the blow?....that's like getting pissed if you get a gouge in the bedliner...it's doing it's job!
Like when they show you your air filter slightly dirty and suggest to replace it....it's catching the dirt!
LOL
I know we pay a lot for this stuff.....and like it nice....but yes it should have been handled differnt..but I feel if the gate protector gets scratched......it's kinda a war wound!
Good Luck on this one now!!
- Tim
I gave the dented wheel well as an example of an incident. The wheel wells were dented prior to me putting in the pallet.
I can see some scratches and scuffs. That's ok and
one might be a little anal about those.
But a gouge in the protector? That is a little
different. If it has compromised the protector
all of the way through at that spot. Have it replaced..
Just my $.02
Ken
Come to think of it, I can't get rid of my stock head unit either cause my Kenwood is in the shop and am using the stock head unit temporarily.
Ken
Thanks again,
Barry
